    Meatball on Cuban bread
    K L.

Try the meatball!!! Was very tasty went really well with the flat Cuban bread they serve it on, really easy to eat without making a mess! Just enough sauce and cheese and meatballs sliced up into smaller pieces all fit perfectly between the flat, flaky Cuban style bread... an Italian/cuban match made in heaven!!!

Came here after hearing great things from a YouTube video we saw for visiting Tampa. I feel like it was much bigger in the guys hands lol but maybe the video portrayed it differently. It was just okay to me but that's because I'm not a huge bell pepper fan and this was filled with them, but I know good meat when it hits my mouth haha and THIS was great crab. I will say it is super flavorful and very reasonably priced. It is a grocery store mixed with a sit down eatery so the ambiance isn't anything spectacular but I love neighborhood spots like this! All the community comes and goes here and you can tell it's a family establishment. It's filled with pictures of memories and also had a cool wine section. The people here were nice and friendly!

So happy we stopped here! Local family business, big city old town taste, some amazing deep fried crab devil egg, must try, get two of them! Nice service, local customers sitting around, small grocery store inside, this is a great place!

Very lively and clean. Extremely fast service. This devil crab is probably one of the best things I've ever eaten, and it was only $4.99. Right across the street from the Humane society! :)

Chicken empanada. The best in Tampa imo.

Best Italian wedding soup!!!!!!! Side note, I didn't know they had cuban things in there and I tried all their empanadas and their chicken, guava cheese are the best. Tried their meatball sub and beef lasagna. Pretty good! Definitely will be back. I'm excited to try other things!! Unfortunately I don't have photos of everything else but next time. Also... get the Italian wedding soup. Seriously the best in Tampa. If I'm home, I'll add some extra greens.

I learned of this place ages ago when my dad was still around as he would shop here for certain items that most grocery stores don't carry like tripe, goat and oxtails. Now I recommend it to anyone that buys a dog from us, and they're always so grateful about the money they save and all the selections! They also sell produce and lots of other items on dry shelves. The owner Josh is very kind and has cleaned up the place a lot in the last year. All the staff is so pleasant and cheerful as well, you can tell they like working there. They cut all the chunks of meat and larger organs into small chunks for my pups so I don't have to. One of the employees Axel, even helped me out get bulk pricing by the case to save me more money - but first I'd have to get a deep freezer chest and figure out where the heck to keep it Very cute convenient little shop right off the interstate in Seminole Heights. The restaurant itself is beautiful, loved the esthetics. The service was exceptional! My glass was always filled and I appreciated the attention. I wasn't too fond of the hot/cold salad bar. While the selection was large, the quality wasn't there. For instance, the meat in the fried rice was overcooked. The pork belly tasted as if it was sitting there for a while. Shrimp salad had good flavor but too many shells in the salad. Roasted garlic was still crunchy/not cooked through. Few of the signs were mislabeled. The bacon covered jalapeño poppers were labeled as brown sugar bacon. That completely took me by surprise because it was quite HOT! In conclusion, I was expecting the same level of attentiveness for the food selections as I received with the service.

We decided to try something different since we were in Tampa and made reservations for 8:15 PM…read more When we arrived, the entrance was packed and there was no host or hostess in sight. Several couples were waiting. While standing there, we heard a woman tell another patron she did not have a reservation, yet when the manager came out to seat guests, he seated a large group and then that party of three before the rest of us who had reservations. Shortly after, he loudly announced, "Reservations first," which was confusing considering what we all had just witnessed. When we were finally seated, we were initially placed at the worst table in the room by the kitchen and bathroom but were accommodated after requesting a move. We then waited 10-15 minutes before the manager instructed Daniel to take care of us. Daniel ended up being the highlight of the evening--professional, apologetic, and attentive despite circumstances clearly outside of his control. We ordered empanadas, only to find out the flavors we wanted were sold out. Daniel brought cheesesteak, four-cheese, and shredded beef instead. The cheesesteak had decent flavor but was dry. Overall, the empanadas were very doughy and the meat lacked moisture. We then ordered the All Beef Parrillada. When it arrived, my wife checked the temperature and tasted a small piece. Immediately after, a server returned and said the dish wasn't ours and took it back. We watched her walk into the kitchen and then bring the same tray out to another table seated two tables away--who had been seated after us. That was extremely concerning. To make matters worse, we were then informed that mashed potatoes were no longer available and needed to select another side--yet the table that received the dish we had touched was served mashed potatoes. We ended up with extra rice and spinach. The spinach was oily with no noticeable garlic, salt, or seasoning. The rice was plain white rice with peas and carrots and little flavor. The steak itself, however, was well-seasoned and prepared nicely. During our visit, we also noticed another Black couple seated next us who waited at least 30 minutes without being greeted or even served water. They eventually left. Shortly after, the table was seated with white males who were greeted and attended to within 10 minutes. That observation was very difficult to ignore after talking to them. Daniel did not charge us for the empanadas, spinach, or the sangria (which he made promptly so we wouldn't experience another long wait). The sangria was very good. His professionalism and sincere attitude were the only things that salvaged the evening. Overall, the service inconsistencies, food execution, and handling of dishes--especially serving a plate that had already been touched--were disappointing and extremely concerning. We came for a different experience, but unfortunately left questioning whether we would return. 2 stars for steak taste and season and Daniel's effort.
