We stopped by La Fiesta Mexican Store when we realized it was less than 10 minutes away from home, and offered Uber eats! I figured instead of paying for delivery, we could swing by. Nestled in the back of the grocery store is a small restaurant. The menus are in Spanish, and the service was quick. The beans and rice were delicious, and my husband loved his carne asada quesadilla. He was surprised that the torta included beans (I was not as that's how I'm used to them being prepared!). The food was hot, fresh, and tasty. It came with a bit of a price tag at $46, but that did include two soda's a water, and three entrees. The restaurant is connected to a Latino grocery store. It's not fancy, as is the case with most great taco spots, but the food was delicious! I had a beef tostada, an Al Pastor taco and a chorizo taco. The women working at the register were also incredibly friendly and welcoming. So happy to have found this local gem! read more

I have been looking for California style mexican food ever since I moved to Florida. All they seem to have is Tex-Mex, which is bland and all tastes the same. I was in Tampa and this place came up on Yelp, about 15 minute drive from where I was, so, what the heck. So.... La Fiesta is perfect. Delicious food, good value. Maybe the neighborhood might not agree with everyone, and certainly the decor is not the most elegant, but the tacos were so so so good. My husband had the well-seasoned carne asada and I had al pastor, with a delicious hint of pineapple. I can still taste the perfectly heated/grilled tortilla--just the right amount of crispy yet soft. Plus, really delicious salsa, beans and rice. My only regret, I live too far to make it my regular. If you are even close and want to see what a proper taco tastes like, go there. read more

This is not the best Mexican food you'll ever have, but it is pretty good, and it is ridiculously cheap. I came here on Mark P's advice (and review). It really is in the middle of nowhere, but in the middle of the day, it's no big deal. There was a mariachi band playing, but luckily they were focused on an area separate from where I sat, so I could eat relatively undisturbed. The waitress was quick and friendly. I don't think she spoke much English, but for me, that's not a big deal. I had a large pina aqua fresca (very good), and three tacos. All three were pretty okay, not the best I've had, but solid for Tampa. If you use a lot of lime juice and judicious hot sauce, they are more than acceptable. The green sauce is rather tasteless, so go with the red sauce. I liked the lengua the best of my three meats (lengua, asada and carnitas), but for me, lengua is almost always the winner based on its inherent fatty goodness. This place is very convenient to Ikea, so if you've tired of their Swedish meatballs, come here for a pre-Ikea meal. read more

Solid and Affordable Mexican food. The exterior looks like an old school Mexican store you might see on the West Coast. Honestly had no clue anything was even in this area. I had the street tacos today - the Carne Asada and Al Pastor. Carne Asada was the better one of the two. Only thing was the limes were dry - need more of that with street tacos. Refried beans were actually good for what they were but not the style that I like. I would pass on it next time. Think next time I would get some crema, avocados, or sour cream to put on top. I'd be curious to see how the burrito is in a future visit. Everything is pretty affordable on the menu $10 or less. The tacos are the best deal and most are under $2. I was thinking about getting Huevos Rancheros but it was $9.99 so I thought that would probably make it hard for me to be pleased because I think thats a little pricey for that dish specifically. read more

This grocery store/ restaurant was hidden in a residential area. They have good selections of Mexican dishes and before 2:30 the lunch special dish were like 7, 8 dollars. The waitress brought me chips, sauce and also offered me 2 samples of home made juice. They were nice juices. 2 bottle of chili sauces were on the table. The brown one was very spicy. The 2016 March pricing for taco was 1.75 per taco no mater what variety. I tried tongue, tripe, and pork taco. They tasted fresh and delicious! The sitting area was OK consider it was inside a grocery store. The service was good . I paid my bill at the store counter and bought some fried pork to take home. We came across this place by reading about it in a Tampa magazine. One of the chefs that was interviewed mentioned that his favorite authentic Mexican food was a place called La Fiesta Mexican Store. So, thanks to Yelp, we looked it up to read the reviews. To our surprise, Yelpers gave it four stars, so we said let's go! The building is literally in the middle of a neighborhood and doesn't look like much from the outside, let alone the inside. When you walk in, head to the right. That's where the tables are to sit and order. There is actual table service. It's a tiny little grocery store that seems to carry authentic Mexican groceries also. Once we sat down, we were greeted with menus, chips and warm salsa...which is the way of having salsa served. We had read in the reviews how great the tacos were, so we skimmed the large menu and headed straight for the tacos. You literally can not beat the price!!! $1.75-$2.00 for one taco. We ordered Tripe, Barbacoa, Chorizo, Lengua, and Asada. WOW! I am a fan for sure. If the tacos are this good, then I can't wait to try the other things on their menu the next time I go back. I had tried a different type of beer while I was there from Modello that sounded interesting. It was a beer flavored with tomatoes, salt, lime, tamarind, and chipotle pepper. Yum! I know it sounds gross because it's a flavored BEER, but to me, it tasted like a fizzy Bloody Mary. It tasted great with my tacos. Tucked away south of Adamo drive in the Palmetto beach neighborhood of Tampa is 'la fiesta', a small half mini market/ Restaurant. In a city with plenty of places to get Mexican food this, thus far, was the most authentic. I tried the Chicken Torta a sandwich that has become one of my favorites though before today I used to get it almost exclusively at a certain bus known for its Tacos. Pound for pound La fiestas Torta was not better but there was something else about this place that made me enjoy it, it's ability to make you believe for a moment that you are indeed in Mexico. Came here specifically to try their tacos. Their restaurant area is in the back of the store. Service is very nice, friendly and attentive. Their tacos are inexpensive, mostly under $2 per taco. We tried the barbacoa (our favorite), al pastor, carnitas, asada and lengua (our least favorite). The tortillas were ok, some were hard on the edges like they were over fried and the pork in the carnitas was kinda dry. The carne asada was bland. The barbacoa meat was so delicious though. They serve complimentary chips and salsa; the salsa is warm and very spicy! My taste buds were literally non existent after eating a few chips with salsa. We had a glass of their horchata since I'd never tasted it before. It was good, tasted like arroz con leche (rice pudding), but it was a bit too sweet for me. They sell all kinds of grocery items at the store including desserts like flan and ice cream pop bars which we'll have to try next time. read more
