Justin worked with us to confirm the height of our bed and headboard, the dimensions for our nightstands, and the dimensions and specific design of our dresser. We're very happy with the result. Prices are fair for the quality of the work. We have been very happy with the craftsmanship. The custom nature of these orders means there is a wait time, but we were in no rush and were very happy with the products we got. I will highlight that we specifically asked about low VOC finishes and were assured that's what they use. When our bed arrived, it had no smell. Our dresser does have a very strong smell and it does transfer onto clothes still, even though we aired out of room for a day after it arrived, wiped it down, and it's been 4 weeks now. White glove delivery was also included and both times (it was two separate orders, months apart) the delivery people were professional and were careful about placing items where we wanted, and not damaging anything while entering our home / navigating stairs and tight corners.

I hired Makers Woodworks, based on a recommendation. Garrett & Justin worked closely with me on the chair design, wood selection, and other project details. They regularly updated me as the work progressed. The chair turned out beautifully. It not only looks great, but just as importantly, it feels great to sit in. The craftsmanship is outstanding, and their attention to detail is obvious. The project was completed on time, and for a very fair price. I couldn't be happier with the finished product, and with my overall experience. I would hire Makers Woodworks again for other projects, and recommend them to anyone looking for high quality, custom wood furniture from experienced craftsman who stand by their work.

Home Business that Makes Custom Dog Crate Furniture and Dog Kennels in Mulino, Oregon…read more Summary: Great of Heart. Poor of Communication. My dog trainer, who I adore, found this website for Custom Dog Crate Furniture. Seemed like just what I needed for two springers. I contacted Jeff LeClaire at Built-to-Last-Furniture in early June for a custom crate for two springer spaniels I rescued. You couldn't ask for a nicer fella and I told him my history with getting a crate for the girls. We didn't firm up a price, which I am just as responsible for as he is, but I sent him a picture of the crate I was looking for with dimensions and requirements for a removable divider. I had been quoted $1600 for that crate and Jeff said it would be ball park about that. The crate pictured had barn doors and I ask for a removable divider -- this gets important further along. I place a $500 for materials through Venmo ("as a friend", as he requested when we talked. Jeff said it was very doable and but he couldn't start until July. I felt good about our talk. Late July comes and I haven't heard anything and I text him -- turns out he's been sick and the date is going to slip, and he tells me he can only deliver the crate on 20 August. I cancel the doctor's appointment I'd waited months for to accommodate that and contact him on the 15/16th to firm up. He says he just now got the barn doors and materials and he's going to make me a palette of colors to choose from that day. And thanks for understanding. I ask how much more he needs and it's $1800, so now we are at $2300 which is more than ballpark. I tell him that I don't feel good about it, and he says he'll refund my money but keep the money for materials. And that would be reasonable if I had been solely responsible for the date slipping by 10+ weeks. Jeff then stonewalls my further communications. My texts are ignored and when I call it goes to voicemail. On 23 August, I get a notification of a deposit refund for $400, and he's pocketed the $100 for the materials, that he evidently didn't order until August. He's new in business and I take responsibility for not managing it better, with agreements in writing and a firmed up price up front and not "ballpark". What was unprofessional was the refusal to communicate and work things through, and pocketing the $100 when he hadn't kept up his side of the bargain. The quality of his work from his website photos is amazing and I'm sure he's worth every penny of what he's asking. If you're willing to manage a new business owner with poor communication and laissez-faire deadlines, you'll probably be really happy with him. He likes dogs and he seems like he has a kind heart, at least for dogs. For older women on Social Security, not so much.
