I live some distance from Steve, yet he still made an hour and a half trip to my home before building the desk and Murphy bed, to be sure he understood the details of what I had been communicating by email. Also, he ran into an unexpected slightly warped wall that was causing some challenges for the desk backsplash to secure correctly against that wall. The solution required Steve to make the decision to leave his vise grip tools behind to bind the backsplash to the wall overnight until I can get them returned to him. Terrible experience with Dreamline in our kitchen remodel. We knew what we wanted, and they showed…read moreus a sample board of what our cabinets would look like. When they installed them, they were nowhere near the color/look promised. They did an oil treatment after the fact to get the look, and while darker than what we wanted, some of the cabinets looked good....a bookcase and 2 drawer faces looked horrible. They re-did the bookcase, and it looked worse. They re-did it again and its ok, but is even darker than everything else...so the island was redone to match to bookcase. Turns out, they never compared to the rest of the cabinets (the ones that are good)...so now the island doesn't match the main cabinets. They took one of the upper cabinet doors that looks great, to use as a guide to re-do the island facings and the 2 drawer faces...and when they returned, not only did they not match the sample door, they are not even close. The rep even admitted they looked terrible (so much for quality control). Everything is installed around the cabinets...and clearly this company is not able to get the cabinets to look right. Absolute nightmare scenario unfolding thanks to Dreamline. Insult to injury...the cabinet layout that they designed, after reviewing the appliances we were getting, include a "lazy susan" corner that is completely non-functional because they didn't realize that oven doors have handles....so now we have a perfectly designed dead space. Meanwhile in our master bathroom, they installed a major bank of cabinets crooked and apparently just hoped we wouldn't notice. When we did, the initial comment was that it was drywalled crooked by the contractor (again, why not mention it to us or the contractor??)...and now they're here trying to correct it. 0/5 do not recommend. We 100% regret using them.

I wanted to use a local business like Macadam rather than a big box to replace the carpet in our…read more220 sf bedroom plus 20 bound stair treads. The sales rep (who I won't name) helped us select carpet and scheduled measurement with one of their preferred installers, Carpet Workroom. So far so good. A few days later, I received the proposal and went into immediate sticker shock at the $6,785 price tag. $2,995 of which was for "fabrication and installation of the stair treads", plus another $1,250 for "time spent removing the old stair tread carpet pieces and preparing the substrate for the installation of the new carpet tread pieces". When I asked the sales rep for an explanation why these costs were so high, I received the following reply: "The amount of time it will take to prepare the stair treads by removing the adhesive that exists is costly...removal of the adhesives from the current installation can take a very long time to remove even with chemicals and scraping." Here's the crux of the matter: No adhesive was used on the stair treads or on any other part of the current installation. Only traditional carpet tack strips were used. The stair treads can easily be removed in a matter of minutes, and the carpet tack strips can be reused to install the new carpet. I pointed this to out to the sales rep with photos to prove it and indicated willingness to revisit the bid if he would provide a revised proposal with a reasonable price for fabricating and installing the stair treads. He did not reply. I subsequently went to another local company. Their bid? $2,800. Right about what I thought the job should and would cost. Caveat emptor.

The cabinets are knotty alder, natural finish, no stain, satin sheen. The 4 1/4" Shaker crown with small buildup detail sets off this piece and the other cabinets nicely. All the drawers are full extension, ball bearing guided. The soft close doors add to the quality also. We can't wait to have our kitchen complete with new appliances. COVID has delayed our appliances for a few more weeks. I wanted to share this review because Eli Taylor and company is a top notch organization deserving of praise.
