Super Smokey. The waitress was really nice and the food was good. If smoke doesn't bother you, you won't mind it.

I saw one of the employees stick his hand down his pants to "adjust" and then immediately handled food. Grossed out and not going back.

I've followed this brewery on social media for a few months and have noticed their pictures consistently feature pours with an inordinate amount (2-3") of head on them. As someone who absolutely hates foam, I asked up front for no head. The bartender winced and explained they had to pour that way or they'd get in trouble because the ownership "wants the aroma expressed." I was taken aback...not only by the total lack of regard for the customer but for levying that threat against an employee. I was waiting to meet someone somewhere else for dinner, and put aside my disdain and capitulated as I didn't want anyone getting in trouble over a beer. So, I figured I'd make the most of things out on the patio. Alas, you can't take glass out in the patio, only plastic cups. What?!? If this were a college bar on a Friday night, sure - pour into plastic. But happy hour in Midlothian? The bartender did say they could pour no foam for a plastic cup though, which I thought was funny - they're so precious about their beer the foam is mandatory, but yeah, just dump it in plastic for the patio. All in all, a negative experience and one I won't repeat. My advice is to give the customer what they want, don't threaten employees, and eat the cost of a few broken glasses. To be clear: I get the notion of aromas and such, but this isn't Russian River or Alchemist, or even The Veil (none of which have foam mandates). I could even understand if they were busy (I was the only one ordering), but I wouldn't have asked for a longer pour under those circumstances. The beers are average regionals and customer service and good treatment of employees are non-negotiables. I hope ownership sees this and chills out; the person who pays for the beer dictates the pour, not you.

Today was my first visit to the new location and I came away impressed!…read more The ambiance is great. The service is great. The food is great. I'm so relieved that none of those traits got left behind at the old location! There's usually a wait, but they now offer outside tables for waiting or dining. So that's a plus. And it's worth the wait. There's a new bar, so one can sit there and enjoy a drink or a meal. That's nice. There's a new (I don't know what to call it) "dessert deli"? Where all the cakes and pastries are on display and for sale. So that trapped us on our way out. :-) And there's a dedicated door for take-out only, so if you order ahead you don't need to swim upstream of the other waiting diners to get in and grab your food, Here's something really innovative: Their parking lot is on the small side. But they are adjacent to acres of parking in the shopping center. So they run a golf cart in a loop, picking up and dropping off diners who park in the satellite lot. Wow! That's service. The restaurant business is tough. And endless number of ways to fail. But the Brick House Diner is doing everything right! PS: In a time when restaurant prices seem to be out of control, BHD is doing a great job keeping prices as low as they can. For the meal I had, I've paid 10 to 25% more at other, similar venues. So, hats off to BHD for cost control!

There are plenty of seating, indoor and outside. Service was nice and attentive, and the food came out quickly. Their menu had a lot of different offerings from burgers, to pizza, to entrees. FOOD: ~Sticky Ribs (4.5/5): actually fall off the bone tender! The sauce was tasty. Only thing was the ends were a little too burnt, but it wasn't inedible - gave that nice char taste. ~Italian Grinder (5/5): Typical italian sandwich, but the bread was so good. The roasted peppers added a nice kick, and the sauce was yummy. ~Fries (5/5): love battered fries! And they were seasoned really well ~Catfish and grits (4/5): the grits were wonderful consistency. Catfish was fried really well and was extremely tender. The sauce was so flavorful, but it was very heavy. At first I was worried about the huge chunks of celery, but thankfully, it didn't have that strong celery flavor and added a nice crunch. A really solid meal, especially for a golf course restaurant!

The restaurant also has a nice atmosphere with great décor. That said, I don't think it's much of a family restaurant--it's better suited for adults. I also think the breakfast menu could use some updates. At most breakfast restaurants, you're able to substitute eggs for another side, but that wasn't an option here. I also found the breakfast menu a little confusing and think it could be organized more clearly. It looks like it would be more of an upscale place, but I would say it's a normal eatery that works well for a casual lunch or something a little nicer too. They offered a selection of lunch specials as well as their regular menu with appetizers, salads, subs, pasta, etc. After much deliberation (the server stopped by probably three times and we still weren't ready) I decided on the fettuccine with white clam sauce which came with some bread and butter, and soup or salad. I went with the soup of the day which was chicken orzo. My mom chose the lamb gyro sandwich and for her side she went with the veggie of the day which was roasted Brussels sprouts with honey. Overall I thought the food was good. It was definitely well-seasoned. The orzo in the soup was a little mushy for my preference, but the fettuccine was a good texture. The white clam sauce was loaded with clams and garlic. I really enjoyed my dish. My mom enjoyed her gyro sandwich, I did take a small taste of the lamb and it was delicious. The Brussels sprouts were probably my favorite of everything though. They were roasted perfectly, still a little firm with some crispier toastier leaves in the mix and a sweet glaze. The service was fine, I thought the server was very nice. She was most attentive when waiting for us to order, and at the end of our meal she boxed our food up for us which is always a nice touch. I would definitely eat here again, there are many more menu items I would love to try!
