I've been here several times. Usually I get a Rueben which is very good. The other day I went on the edge and ordered a Swiss and mushroom cheeseburger. And that was also really good. So I came back again today for another one. Service is usually really good today I sat down and wasn't recognized. Had to end up getting up and going to the bar to place my order.. they weren't busy so I'm not sure what happened but it's OK. I placed the order anyway.. Definitely a bar, but the food is good so as far as ambience, I wouldn't feel comfortable bringing my child in here anybody under 18 but that's me. Otherwise easily good customer service this one time won't prevent me from coming back.. I'm not sure what the sauce is that comes with the mushroom Swiss burger but it's kind of red she said spicy ranch but that's what it is that I got the other day then it's good. Trash service, had 1 guy sitting by himself at a 8 person table during the World Cup semis. Management said they had "reserved" the table in a "seat yourself" setting. Even asked another waiter how can I reserve a table and he literally said "we don't do reservations" lol. Someone is getting paid to reserve tables for locals, shadyyyyyy. The best place in the West end short pump! I have never felt more welcome in any establishment than the SHORT PUMP POUR HOUSE. The staff is super friendly and the food is great! The pour house is a cool sports bar with the nice feature of big open window walls for nice weather seasons. We enjoyed our lunch here after landing there spontaneously. Service was fine and friendly if not slightly disjointed, but we may have been there in a shift switching moment or something. We had a hard time flagging someone down for our check once we were ready to head out. There are plenty of screens for viewing whatever game you might be seeking. I work in the same center. I had a lovely coworker treated quite badly there at lunch time, today. She went in, for the first time, as she doesn't live close by. She was given the once over by a young woman (who claimed to be the manager) and then, basically ignored, after saying she'd like to order lunch. Did I mention that my friend is a person of color? This does not set well with me. I stopped in after work and let this manger know that I intended to follow up on this. I won't ever eat there, again. I'd been once, with a friend. The food was meh. I'm sad this place has such low reviews! I cannot be more satisfied with the time I spent there for football Sunday! Drinks were very reasonably priced, and the wait staff was outstanding. They were super friendly and accommodating and constantly asking if we needed anything. The drinks were very tasty, and we split a nachos platter, which was good. All the staff took time to get to know us and remembered what drinks we liked. All the booths have their own TVs to watch the games and plenty of large screen TVs so you could see every football game that was on. They even changed the channel if you wanted to watch a different game and were always on top of it. We used to like coming here but tonight was a disaster. Service was slow and they kept screwing up everything. Waited 15 minutes after ordering appetizers for waiter and had to go get him to place our dinner order. Then, they brought out one dinner and 10 minutes later someone asked how everything was and we had to point out 2 of us were still waiting for our food. After dinner they brought the wrong drinks. Again, had to carry the wrong ones up to the bar myself. Barely got an apology for any of their mistakes and on top of it food was completely uninspired. My brisket sandwich was on a dry stale bun with dry tasteless Cole slaw. The other food was similarly bad. Cool with bar food. That's to be expected in a bar but this was just crap not to the level of school cafeterias. I must admit, I was not a fan of The Pour House a few years ago, but times change, so I decided to give this local establishment a try again. During the week, they have nightly specials and on weekends, local music. I have gone for Tuesday taco night and Wednesday wing night. The food is fresh and came fast. What a fun venue! I've lived in Richmond for about 12 years and have passed this place a zillion time. I've never gone in because I always saw a bunch of smokers hanging out so I thought it was going to be a smokey bar, but it wasn't. A friend of mine invited my husband and me to go see a work colleague's band on a Friday night. The band starts at 9 so we arrived around 8:30. The place was already packed. We went to the bar to order a beer and discovered a nice selection. I ended up with a Vanilla Porter and my husband had an IPA. Since we had lots of time, we looked around for some seats but every table was taken. Finally we saw a table that was big enough for 6 or so but only had two people at it. We asked if we could take a couple of seats and they graciously offered them up. Eventually we moved to a different table that seats 3 but it was so nice of them to share. My husband ended up ordering a quesadilla while we were there. It was served very quickly and he seemed to enjoy it. First of all the prices were phenomenal, which inclined me to actually order food instead of just drink. It was burger night, $3.50 for a burger. Extra for fries, but the steak fries were SOOO good! Flavorful and crispy. They were way better than the crinkle cut fries so make sure you ask for steam fries! I got a side of gravy and cheese dip for the fries too and both were super tasty. The best Wings in ALL of Richmond. I used to be scared of this place from the outside, but now I can be seen here weekly. Their staff is so friendly and attentive. Cabo is the MAN. A good place to watch sports. There are many tvs and getting a view shouldn't be a problem. They have a decent bottled beer selection. The food is typical bar food. I only go here for late drinks and to satisfy my urge for fried bar food. The smoking issues I've read is true. There are many smokers and unfortunately, they stand right in front of the place. And since the bar has nice big windows, the smoke does travel to the tables that are right next to the window. But the inside tables are fine. There are free dart boards and corn hole is available. I went on a date to watch Nascar there and we had great service! Great tv's and quite a few of them. Other folks had a shower there (it was in the afternoon) and really a cool place. Food was delish and the wings were perfect (not soggy). There is an area for playing corn hole and there are 2 pool tables too. First time here this past weekend, and I have to say that I'm a fan! When you approach the place, you'll notice all the windows, which I like. Inside it is very spacious and well laid out. Plenty of tvs, some pool tables, bar, and lots of seating. We opted to sit at the bar to watch our football teams go head to head (Redskins vs Eagles -- Skins win!!) The bartenders were awesome. So friendly and even though our app wasn't rang in right away (and we didn't even care), the bartender compensated us. They definitely want to take care of their customers. We mostly drank beer and also order the cheese plate. That cheese plate was awesome. All fried cheeses, some cubes of pepper jack, some regular cheese sticks, and maybe some other ones with cheddar? They were all DELISH! The atmosphere was great. Rude, questionable staff. I love a neighborhood dive bar and decided to check this place out after dinner nearby with local friends. A live band was on and the place was packed with people having a good time, including couples swaying, dirty dancing, smacking each other's butts, and making out on the dance floor- Standard live music at a dive bar type stuff. So an odd situation happened to me when I was waiting for my 2nd drink near the bar. I wrapped my arms around my boyfriends neck and we started to kiss lightly on the lips (no tongue, no petting, no swaying at all. We were standing still in a PG-level wrapped embrace giving each other pecks. it was a nice moment, as we were having a good 1st night in town with some of his childhood best friends). Suddenly we started hearing shrill screaming besides us. A red haired server was losing her shit screaming at us that we had to get out immediately. Turns out we appeared too drunk. I was shocked, but honestly not that shocked because I'm black, my boyfriends white. I stood out in there like a tall brown thumb. I didn't put up a fight, the servers sudden aggressive reaction to us was so extreme in a crowded bar with lots of other bar behavior going on that I knew it wasn't worth our energy to argue. We quickly gathered our very confused friends and left. I certainly didn't want to hang around and spend my money in a place where someone who worked there suddenly became so vicious for no clear reason. Nothing even happened before the kiss to warrant this - We hadnt knocked into anyone, spilled drinks, broken glass or anything. No one had warned us before that the staff would have to stop serving us (something they appear to sometimes do to seemingly drunk customers based on other yelp reviews). The situation went from 0 to 60 out of nowhere. We had exhibited no disorderly behavior ahead of that (I certainly witnessed "worse" around me all night) and I hate that I even have to sound defensive abt it. My nonblack local friends joked abt the event with dozens of their nonblack local friends for the rest of the wknd- "It's the pour house" they all laughed.. "Everyone's drunk at the pour house..Who gets kicked out of the pour house for being drunk???" My guess: Black people do. So I came to yelp to see if it wasn't just me. Two prior reviews mention discrimination and others cite general unfriendliness to non-locals. Maybe it's just a couple of nasty staff members and not the whole establishment. Pour house - please prove me wrong and train your staff to treat all patrons with the same decency. Before you mistreat a black customer, think if you would act the same to a white customer exhibiting the same exact behavior. In the meantime- brothers and sisters be warned. read more

My husband was trashed last night when he left your establishment. He came in stinking of liquor and slurring his words. You allowed him to be over served and for him to leave completely trashed and for him to DRIVE his vehicle. He could have killed himself and or someone else! if he had been in a wreck or gotten pulled you would be having charges filed against you for overserving. I trusted that when he went to your establishment that someone would be responsible when serving him. I would give you zero stars but it wont let me. read more
