Love this eatery! Been coming here for years, through all of the various changes! The sauce gravy & biscuits are amazing! The breakfasts are always good! Grits are just ok. I love the menus that are inside the newspapers! So cute and adds local color! The dining room in the back is huge and used for events, but also for overflow seating from the main restaurant. The service is always lickety split fast!! Reasonable prices, good food, but sometimes the orders are right, but they quickly rectify the issues!

I enjoyed my lunch experience at Kitchen33 last month. It was my first visit. I ordered a coffee and a club sandwich with fries and a side of honey mustard for dipping. My mom had the navy bean soup (and raved about it) and their chicken tenders. We enjoyed everything we ordered, and our server was delightful. It's a no-frills diner above Richmond on Staples Mill. The menu is well-rounded with lots of options. I'd return if I was in the area in the future.

I want to like Kitchen33 for a lot of reasons. First, unrelated to this business effort, I miss the previous restaurant in this space (Debbie's Kitchen) and really hoped something similar would land here. Second, while politics and social involvement have no place on yelp, I have to acknowledge that I appreciate Kitchen33's involvement in cutting down on restaurant waste and using their proceeds for protecting waterways. That said, as much as I appreciate the owners and the location, I want to evaluate them solely on the restaurant effort. Kitchen33 has a simple menu that belies the work that goes into some of the dishes. They have several smoked / barbecued meats on offer, as well as more traditional salad and sandwich offerings (we were not ther in time for breakfast, but will try soon.) The food we got was as good as expected or even better. Certainly the spoonbread was YUMMY. And the house-made pastrami was as good as can be expected form most restaurants but not as good as I would expect for being house made. When I say steak and cheese to you you probably envision thin cut strips of ribeye, piled moderately high. The steak and cheese here is apparently smoked brisket. It was too heavily smoked for my wife's taste, but within the limits for me. A good sandwich, probably better than I expected, but a better menu description would have kept me from ordering something heavier than I actually received. It was fine. Service was slooooow. 45 minutes between order and food kind of slow. Friendly. Nice. Apologetic every 10 minutes. But slow. 'Nuf said. Kitchen33 is open most days breakfast and lunch only, with a dinner menu on Friday and Saturday. To get more frequent business from me, they will need to open more evenings. Worth a return try.

    Online ordering is a joke

Never again!!! If I could give 0 stars I would. Placed an order online using their website. Selected curbside pickup and tipped since they would be bringing it to me. Order was supposed to be ready at 6:12...waited for a while and nothing so went in. I was told my option only came with one side (I had selected 2). I was asked if I still wanted 2 and advised I would need to pay additional. While then waiting for food that was already supposed to be ready to be prepared I pulled up their site where it says select up to 2. When handed my food I started to show my phone and before I could finish my sentence was told "I'm gonna cut you off we know it says 2 other people have complained about it". After suggesting they should fix it I was told they won't. After all this once home, one of the sides was missing. Called and was told there was no one there that could give a refund and I'll have to call back tomorrow. As for the food this is the rotten lettuce I took off of my sandwich.

I had the braised beef short ribs, which were melt-in-your -mouth. Paired with garlic mashed potatoes, roasted root veg, and some of the best collard greens I've ever had. He had the fried chicken with hot honey, garlic mashed potatoes, and more collard greens. That fried chicken was so crispy and delicious. Had the peach cobbler bread pudding for dessert, and it was an EXPERIENCE. The only thing that would have made the meal better was some of the slab bacon, but we'll know to come for breakfast or lunch for that next time!

Upon entering, the hostess greeted us and, at our request, seated us outside because it was a beautiful day. The restaurant venue and ambiance were modern and well kept. The bathroom was clean and nice. The outside seating area was also fairly clean with comfortable seating. Our server (neither my partner nor I caught her name as she said it: she had beautiful braids with blonde streaks woven in) started on the right foot, took our orders promptly, and brought out our waters. I ordered the Smothered Pork Chop, and my partner chose the Fried Chicken, subbed pimento mac and cheese for the collard greens (who can blame her?). The food did not come out promptly. My best guess is that our server was seated with a large table and prioritized a better tip over the two top (us) outside. Eventually, the food came out (~25 minutes, so not terrible), but for the number of patrons in the restaurant, it was too long. My partner's mashed potatoes were cold, but she said the fried chicken and mac and cheese were fantastic. The potatoes tasted delicious, but they were simply not warm. My pork chop was very thick, like a filet, which is okay, but it wasn't what I expected. I prefer a thin pork chop, so that it cooks all the way through (more solid, not soft). It was passable. The beans and rice (Hoppin' John) were also not what I was expecting; I was thinking more New Orleans-style, but they were bland, like cream of mushroom soup on unseasoned beans and rice. We ordered the banana pudding for dessert. We ended up waiting for that for ~20 minutes as well, a half-pint glass of banana pudding with underripe bananas mixed in. Note to the chef: heat ripens bananas, so you could toss a few in a skillet with a little oil in a pinch (egg yolks also work). We waited for another 10 minutes, and I finally went inside and asked the hostess for the check. I realize it is difficult to serve, but you must also consider asking your colleagues for help if you have too much going on. All in all, the food was satisfactory, but the service was lacking. We ended up waiting an hour longer than we should have had to. I semi-recommend Farm and Oak, but look to be seated with the better server, John. He and the hostess saved our experience.

It was my first visit, and I was genuinely impressed with the ambiance, service, and overall quality of the meal. The menu offers a nice variety of food and cocktails. I ordered the espresso martini, which was smooth and well balanced, and my boyfriend had the Vieux Carré, which he really enjoyed. We started with the cast iron goat cheese, and it was rich, layered in flavor, and paired with bread that was delicious on it's own. For my entrée, I chose the margherita pizza, and it was one of the best I've had. The sauce was perfect, and the crust had an ideal texture and flavor. My boyfriend ordered the spicy sausage & black pepper honey pizza. While neither of us found it particularly spicy, it was still bold and very flavorful. Service was friendly and efficient throughout the evening. It was a wonderful experience overall, and I'm looking forward to returning.

When we first walked in, the place was pretty crowded, but we were able to grab a couple spots at the bar and figured we'd settle in for a good night. That's where things went sideways. The bartender appeared to be the only one working, and while I understand being busy, the attitude and behavior were honestly shocking. Every interaction felt aggressive. Remotes getting slammed around. Napkins and pens tossed onto the counter. Water being splashed onto the floor like a toddler throwing a tantrum. The entire atmosphere at the bar felt tense and uncomfortable. It got to the point where we almost felt awkward ordering anything because every request seemed like it was ruining their night. At one point another couple sat down next to us and almost immediately started looking around like, "is this really happening right now?" I actually ended up warning them that no, they weren't imagining it, and that it had been our experience the entire time too. That alone should tell you how uncomfortable the atmosphere was. Which is unfortunate because the kitchen actually did their part. The food was good. Really good. But good food only carries a place so far when the service makes you want to leave before the meal even arrives. I've worked in and around hospitality long enough to understand busy nights happen. But there's a huge difference between being overwhelmed and taking it out on customers. Tazza Kitchen has the food figured out. Now they just need the front of house experience to match it.

I switched the mixed vegetables for spinach and garlic. Good choice. The spinach was fresh and sauteed with onions. Didn't care for the gravy on potatoes. Can't tell whether the off flavor was the gravy or the potatoes. My surprise was the appetizer. I chose turkey chilli that was so good.
