I literally love that Center for so many reasons, I changed my son's Adam daycare several time around this area until I found this one! They are all sweet, passionate, loving teachers, I really care how they're taking care of kids there, and how that center is clean and safe for the kids health especially during COVID. I'm so grateful for all the efforts they do with my son and how much they really care to deliver a great experiences and knowledge in a positive manner to my son and the rest of the kids, miss Ally was a Great, Amazing teacher but she left while ago unfortunately, even though miss Angie, Minerva and Kayle are really awesome teachers too, in other words my overall experience with this daycare was pretty much pleasant for more than 3 years until now for both of us me and my son. *This was a rebuttal to the owner, who has since deleted her comment which was once again full of excuses and fabrications.* It's sad - but not surprising - that the owner continues to lack accountability for this incident. As the owner of this facility, she never once called me to discuss what happened. She never apologized. She instead chose to hold 2 meetings on Jan 3 and 4 with all enrolled parents where she blatantly lied about myself and my two year old, and falsely said Scribbles was cleared of all allegations. Her only communication to me is via responses on review sites - one of which was a nasty comment that she then deleted. How grossly unprofessional. To clarify for parents - Scribbles was never cleared by the state. There was no "additional complaints." We gave all information during our initial call, and followed up with emails containing the video footage of her staff pushing and yanking my two year old. There was no a-ha moment where we supplied additional stories to the state. That's not how this works. Further, after the parents meeting, I confirmed with the Supervisors at the State Office of Licensing that the investigation was still open. They confirmed that Scribbles would not have been told by the investigator the outcome, as- at that time - it had not been finalized yet. As you can see from the attached report, the three investigation dates took place on or before the parents' meeting; there was no follow-up investigation after that date - Claudia's rationale makes no sense. Claudia and her team knew the details of this incident immediately, yet continued to minimize it - even though we have their video surveillance footage of this aggressive treatment. Furthermore, she threatened to sue me to keep me from sharing our truth, not knowing that I'm fully aware of what constitutes defamation (Claudia FYI I went to law school. What *you* did is indeed defame our family.) During the Jan 3 and 4 meetings, Claudia and her assistant director reassured parents that they could feel confident leaving their children in the hands of these two staffers - yet now, she has chosen to fire them? She watched the video of her staffers aggressively shove and yank a two year old, but it took 6-8 weeks for it to sink in that's not acceptable behavior? It's clear that the only reason this step was taken is that the State substantiated each and every allegation against them. If the owner truly cared about making this right, she would have 1) called me directly to apologize and 2) taken immediate disciplinary action against the staffers. Instead she and her assistant director downplayed what happened by saying "it looked worse on video," they mocked me and my husband for not letting this go silently, and they engaged in a blatant campaign to malign us. I will continue to refute every mistruth that is put out against our family. My 2 year old will not be the scapegoat or be further defamed. The silver lining in this is that we have pulled our child out and she is flourishing at her new Center. She has learned more in the past 8 weeks than she did in 7 months at Scribbles. The differences are stark. Interestingly, we have not received any negative reports on her behavior - which sadly is the justification they used to excuse their staff's behavior. Our daughter has been enrolled in Scribbles since she was 6 months old and is entering her last month at the center before she enters the public pre-K 3 year old program in September. Our daughter has made a lot of friends at the center, but has also become close with each and every teacher there who have become like family to her given the very little turnover we have seen. She always refers to them as her best friends! My daughter has learned so much at Scribbles. She has learned to count, do her ABCs, recite nursery rhymes, and writing skills - usually showing me what she learned before I even thought to teach her. They also were crucial in helping to potty train her at a younger age and were very diligent in ensuring she did not have foods that she is intolerant to. Like all daycares we had a few situations that we preferred to be handled differently, but all I had to do was speak or text with Mrs Angie who would always be responsive and work with us. One time she even went as far as having an in person meeting with me and had prepared with a complete time schedule of what our daughter did during the day based on the video footage. She is great on handling the administrative aspects as well. We will miss Scribbles, but we are so grateful for the time our daughter got to spend there. read more

Scribbles was my son first daycare and I am so glad we picked Scribbles. The teachers are amazing, caring, and attentive. It is a family run daycare and they are very flexible and accommodating to any special request for your child. Mrs. Angie is always on top of things, response quickly to any inquires and questions. My son really enjoyed his time at the daycare, the day was always full of activities from circle time to activities in the gym. I noticed he learned quite a few new things from school. Mrs. Angie is very delligent in providing updates through out the day with fun pictures of kiddies and their daily adventures. We love Scribbles. They're family run and the employees seem to really care about your kids. 7-7 is great for commuting. And they accommodate anything you need. Our son started at 4 months and is a thriving and happy toddler. We're constantly astonished when he comes home having learned new words and songs. I was quickly able to enroll my 8 month old daughter since our nanny had to leave us without much notice. Ms. Angie took care of us quickly and appropriately. This center is very clean and secure in a very convenient location in Edgewater. They do so much for working parents! They clean and make bottles for you! Scribbles is a wonderful school! I placed my child here after taking her out of primetime learning in Edgewater...I was not happy there. Scribbles has shown amazing nurturing qualities, great curriculum & stellar communication with me as a parent....My child is constantly bringing home her daily activities to show me her progress, expresses happiness & intelligence. All of the teachers are friendly, kind, trustworthy; furthermore truly concerned for my child's well being & learning. The first time I called, they gave me info that I asked for and advised to schedule time to come in. I was inquiring for my toddler and infant. Few weeks later, I decided to call again to schedule time to come in after I figured out a date and a different person on the phone kept telling me they didn't have room for infant at this time even though I said I'm not planning to enroll her until 5 months from now and I just wanted to look at the place first and plan ahead. After reading the negative review below, I'd like to share our experience with scribbles. I don't want to minimize that person's experience, it is just not what we've been through. We enrolled my son here when he was just under three months and he's now two. Overall, we've felt very comfortable with the staff and their expertise. First, in the infant class Ms. Maria and her staff are true experts. They showed our son so much care, love, and attention, which was shown in his development and peacefulness when we dropped him off. There was a lot of communication about his day such as eating, sleeping, diapers, etc. In the toddler class with Ms. Caroline and staff, we've continued to see his social, verbal, cognitive, and emotional skills improve. He has learned his ABC's, numbers, colors, shapes, and multiple songs that he sings daily at home. We unfortunately went through an awful tantrum phase with him and the staff were very helpful and communicative in setting a plan for helping him manage his strong emotions. I'm happy to say we made it through the storm and the staff have continued to manage his smaller outbursts in a way that is consistent with what we do at home (helping him to state his feelings, redirecting him to appropriate behaviors, setting limits, reinforcing good behaviors). We really think it is a nice center where the staff are warm and open and we plan to keep our child enrolled. read more

I highly recommend this center to any parent! My daughter started when she was 2 years old and is now 3. She has been here for less than a year and she has learned so much! The teachers are great and truly care for the little ones. It's really clean they provide food and snacks the hours are great they are from 7am-7pm great for commuters.
