There seemed to be sections of body/beauty, hats and clothing, a flag and decor area, an area with canned/bottled goodies and dip mixes, nostalgic candy, a counter with fudges, hand pies, ice cream, and candied nuts, a section with books and toys and many (MANY!) gift ideas and Smoky Mountain souvenirs. We also loved that the local Dancing Bean Coffee sells beans in bulk here. We have been using the Turtle flavor daily the last few days and love how smooth and subtle the flavor is, not overpoweringly sweet like many flavored coffees. The service was amazing-patient, prompt, and friendly. The candied pecans are the best I've ever had. They have been wonderful on salads and on a charcuterie board since I brought them home. The pricing wasn't extremely high either! For the fudge, ice cream, book, coffee, candy, popcorn seasoning, and nuts we purchased, I think we spend around $30. Not too shabby!

However, I was recently disappointed to find that a large majority of vendors have begun selling items with AI-generated "artwork." I recognize the usage of AI as a practical tool but certainly not as a creative medium--especially when vendors charge $30 and above for "artwork" that a human didn't even create. I feel that selling AI-generated pieces is not only deceptive but a poor reflection on any business given how environmentally damaging it is plus the fact that AI continuously steals content from hard-working human artists. I love Homespun and will continue to recommend them on account of my positive experiences as a shopper, but I feel that they and other businesses can do better when it comes to recognizing the harm AI causes.

The big attractions may get most of the attention around Pigeon Forge and Sevierville, but I also love finding stops with their own personality and sense of place. The Apple Barn definitely has both. It's a great addition to a Smoky Mountains itinerary, especially if you enjoy discovering local flavors, browsing for something unique to take home, or simply finding an interesting place away from the area's larger attractions. Sitting outside with a fresh cider in hand, playing cornhole and Jenga, enjoying the atmosphere, and slowing down for a little while made for a genuinely relaxing afternoon. No rushing. No crowds pushing you along. Just good cider and good company. We also picked up a growler to bring back to the hotel because one thing became very clear during the tasting process: leaving empty-handed would have been a mistake.
