I was in this facility for 6 weeks because I fell & broke my hip. I was not to happy when you would buzz for someone to come in & help you, to get out of bed. The best thing that I was glad about, was my CNA Christie, who went out of her way to help me. And the PT dept Carl & the O.T. Tracy were amazing. I just loved working with them so much. I don't think I would have been able to do it without them. I also was very happy with Bill who was at the front desk. So attentive to the patients. I would give them a 5 star, but as far as anything else I was not happy. And they did not have an sides to the bed to help yourself get up. read more

The rehab staff at Cadia/Broadmeadow are amazing. They are attentive, and move patients at their appropriate pace to get them back home. The nurses, aides, PT and OT are caring professionals! read more

Where do I begin ... from the rude night staff who answers the phone with " what do you want" . To the administration telling me that I had to call my mother's insurance company to get them to approval her stay for 4 days after was rushed to the ER. She spent less than 24 hours in the hospital and was returned back to the rehab .Admissions admitted they didn't think she needed it. I was informed that if they didn't approve it ,I would have pay for the 4 days out of pocket. When discharged, she was given completed meds , insulin which was in a vial with no instruction on how to administer it. Last but not least included with her take home meds was SOMEONE ELSE MEDICATION!!!!! 1 star isn't low enough . read more

My Mother is in this facility for the 3rd time. They are understaffed especially on weekends with one care giver to assist an entire wing of patients. During the week nights you could have 2 which till doesn't work well. My Mother is supposed to be on a Heart healthy diet. During her previous stay they were giving her hot dogs 3 times a week for lunch or dinner. We have had to intervene to correct what they should already be doing. To be fair there are a few aids are truly helpful, its too bad the majority of staff is not. On the plus side the facility is clean and local for us. We chose this because this is one of the better facilities, which is a sad comment on Delaware sub-acute rehab facilities. read more

If you or your love one is not verbal or coherent, this is not the place for you. The staff can be rude and respectful. There is no team work here!!! I have observed on numerous times when a resident would ask to go to the restroom and will be told to hold/wait to say "I am not your tech you have to wait". Residents can be sleepy (with their heads falling to their lap) and ask to go to their bedroom. They will let them sit until they are ready to take them to their rooms. All the while they are just walking around or sitting in the bistro talking to each other. The totally ignore when the lights are on above the doors from the call bells and ignore when someone calling for help. I have been there a few times when a resident was constantly asking the staff to take care of some of the residents sitting at a table with her. She was a very outspoken lady and she would let them have it. I liked her (she had purple hair, too cool)!!! I even asked her to look out for my mother when I left. She said, "I sure will" and would let me know if there is anything I needed to know when I came back. Upon my return, she told me "everything went good, I handled it". I spoke with the Director of Nursing about issues I was having with my loved one and things improved until she was released. Unfortunately, she had to return after a discharge from hospital. Yes, they were back to the same thing. I had one of the nurses get rude with my mother and when I discussed it with her, she said she would apologize to my mom but that never happen. As I informed her to address my mother as she would have someone address her mother if she was there as a resident. But, I never had any more issues with that particular nurse. I guess you have to call them out individually for things to improve for your family members which should not be the case. "THEY NEED PATIENT CARE CUSTOMER SERVICE REFRESHER". If they all treated the residents as if they would want their family members treated, I think this would be a great facility. read more

My husband was a patient here after spending 7 weeks in the hospital after having been in a near fatal car accident. First off, there are no side rails on the beds! My husband has no use of his left hand and could not adjust himself in the bed being nothing for him to grab onto. He fell out of the bed and they still refused to put anything up to keep him from falling out of the bed. They claim this is considered a restraint, I consider it negligence! Staff was not on top of Doctors orders so by the end of his allotted time per Medicare guidelines and his secondary insurance, he still had not been given the OK to even stand up! Luckily, he was able to get transferred to another facility that was covered under Medicare and they had him walking within 2 weeks. When he arrived at the new facility he was missing his kindle to read his books and when I called and asked them about it they claimed that it had been packed in his bag, well it didn't arrive with him. I would not recommend this facility to anyone who wants the best care for their loved ones. read more
