The "best bacon" and try the home fries according to local tattoo artist Flip. Why the best? Simple. It's made to order. Now that might not seem all that important, but when you're talking about good bacon -- it makes all the difference. None of that previously cooked and reheated pork at Cadillac. I immediately ordered a "crisp" side and it was fabulous. With a side of homemade cinnamon buns -- yum! Only breakfast and lunch but well worth the visit. Even the seniors were on the dining scene the day I stopped by. Next time....big burgers. Really, I was just on my way to no where and just happened to stop and POOF! There was the Cadillac Cafe. My daughter just moved there so looking for good places to eat. Found one! My wife and I had a late breakfast there and it's a small but very clean place. Great service! Good sized omelette nice country potatoes. Mine was the meat lovers and it was stuffed with bacon and ham and sausage. Sourdough could be a local baker but very good. Over all it earned 5 stars!! And can get food to go so that's a plus! Next time will try lunch . read more

My favorite place to get vegetarian breakfast burritos and buttermilk pancakes! They also have really great coffee! Hector, the server is very personable and great at his job! Found this spot sometime last year but now that we're allowed to dine in we went for breakfast today. For being a small spot plenty of space inside. Before you read on it's important to note the following; The service was great, our server was very nice and professional, the food was good and the establishment was clean (including the bathroom). I would give a 5-star rating for these reasons however there were a few things that took place on my visit that unfortunately warrant the 2-star review. I sincerely hope the owners do not take this personally and instead see it as a way to improve the customer experience which will result in more success. WHY THE 2 STARS: We arrived at exactly 8:31am on 11/12/17, there were only 4 other tables seated so not busy. We sat in the main area to the left of the counter as you enter. The first thing we noticed was a swarm of flies all over the 2 back tables. When I say swarm I mean about a dozen. It was odd as the tables & floors seemed clean but there was something going on to have so many flies inside and particularly on these 2 tables. The flies went away upon sitting but they did create an annoyance while eating as they kept flying around. The second thing was they had NO fruit at all. We always order fruit in place of potatoes and willing to pay for it but they had none. Then after ordering a California Turkey Omelet the server returned several minutes later to say they had NO turkey? As mentioned above the server was really nice (and apologetic) but we now had to order something different (without fruit). The next thing that happened was with 2 men sitting across from us. When they went to squeeze the plastic ketchup bottle it literally exploded all over both of them and flooded one meal with ketchup. We surmise the bottle was likely left out in a warm temperature (which shouldn't be done), it expanded with pressure and the staff without checking just set it on the table. Again the server was very nice and apologetic to these 2 men however what should have happened was to comp their meal AND offer to pay for any dry cleaning/laundry bill. Even if the men didn't want/need to be compensated, Cadillac Café should have offered as it was really embarrassing for these 2 men. When our meals arrived one came with a small bowl with a tablespoon of "yellow liquid". We asked what it was and the server said butter? We asked if we could just have un-melted butter but she said they were OUT of butter too! No butter? Really? SO basically if you came in after us on this date you'd have no butter for your pancakes, toast, muffin, etc. We were a little grossed out by the melted butter (especially since heating butter changes the flavor, consistency, etc.) and we didn't want to "pour" it onto our breakfast so we didn't eat the pancakes we ordered - it was just really weird. (As a side note our meal for 2 with coffee was $31.00 not including tip. This is REALLY pricey for a diner breakfast especially considering there was no fruit, turkey or butter.) We feel badly for not giving Cadillac Café a more favorable review as they were very nice plus we've been eating there for years. However to have FLIES, EXPLODING CONDIMENTS, NO FRUIT, NO TURKEY and NO BUTTER is frankly unacceptable and poor management. Why didn't anyone think to check inventory before opening and run to the nearest market to get supplies??? We've been to plenty of restaurant that have run out of items, we know it happens. But they were open for only 30min when we arrived! So what's the message here? If you want a decent breakfast, we say try it as it was good food and the staff was really nice. However the overall "vibe" we got was the owners (not the staff) have no clue what they're doing, It's as if the new owners had this dream of owning a café but know very little on how to run one. read more

I ate outside at this little place and had the veggie benedict with hash browns. The eggs were perfect and they put tomatoes, lots of avocado & mushrooms, and fresh spinach on the english muffin. It was very good. Nice service, too. read more

We stopped here this morning for breakfast. The menu is nice, with some variations on the usual breakfast items. It was a bit pricey, however. Two eggs with potatoes or fruit and toast was $7.75; adding bacon raised the price to $12.75. Our waitress was pleasant and took good care of us. But even though the restaurant wasn't very crowded, it took a full half hour to get our two meals. She never came up to us to explain why there was such a delay until we asked. Then she said there was just one guy in the kitchen and a "big order" ahead of us. When it finally came the food was good, the fruit fresh. But the tomatoes in my husband's scramble weren't cooked -- kind of a rookie move, especially after such a long wait -- and they were out of rye toast. This was 9:00 in the morning. I wouldn't go back. There are too many other places for breakfast if you're going to spend $30 on it (2 entrees and 1 coffee) where you will probably get your food faster. Maybe it was just an off day but reading some of the other reviews,it sounds like it may be a bigger problem than that. read more

This restaurant has been under new management since late 2018. It's clean and well kept by the new owners. It's family run and they do their job so very well. I have been eating here a few times a week and have tried about half the items on the menu. The food has always been good. It has a fresh homecooked taste to it. The staff are very friendly and attentive to the needs of their guests. I highly recommend this restaurant as a must visit place to eat. I hope to have my lunch there today! This is the cutest little restaurant in the outskirts of Watsonville. Our server was extremely sweet and super attentive and the menu had so many options to chose from for breakfast/lunch. It you want a quiet breakfast or lunch this is so the place to go. It wasn't hectic when we went on a Monday morning around 11 it's near the road but traffic wasn't crazy. I recommend for everyone to come here at least once if you're from the Watsonville area it's worth it. read more

We were in Watsonville and hungry. Not knowing any restaurants around (and since it was in Watsonville, I didn't even think about yelping it -- I should have... I'm obviously not the FTR this place), we just drove around, saw this cafe's sign and looped into the parking lot. We found a space in the strangely-laid-out parking lot and walked past realty office, a chiropractor's office, and a Mexican restaurant on our way to the cafe. The cafe itself is so quaint and friendly, painted in baby pink and baby blue and decorated in 50s memorabilia -- James Dean mixed with Coca Cola signs mixed with classic car models. Perhaps an old home converted into a cafe, the cafe had an open kitchen, a lovely bathroom (the filled-up bathtub was used as a planter), and a small but cute dining area (about six tables plus seating for four at the bar). We sat at the bar, where we chatted with the waitresses and even exchanged hellos with the cooks. I ordered an omelet with various veggies and was amused to see that they use the same Costco bag of spinach that we use at our house. The omelet was great (along with the home fries and the English muffin -- too much food to finish), my husband's chicken club sandwich tender and delicious (and his meal was also too much food to finish -- quite a feat for a restaurant to give HIM too much food), and my son's kids meal hot dog was HUGE (not sure how they considered that a kids meal). So, will I be back? Ummm, since Watsonville is about a hundred miles away from where I live, not likely -- unless I happen to drive by on the way to a camping trip. If you happen to be in Watsonville, though, I'd recommend a stop at this cute and kitschy cafe. read more

This is one of the best breakfast places in the county! My husband and I live spitting distance to the cafe so we walk there quite a bit for a great breakfast. One of my favorites is the Johnny's Mess, which I think they only offer certain days of the week. Their bacon (which they give a generous portion!) is out of this world delicious. TOTALLY a fan!!! I can't wait to go back!!! The portion sizes are supreme and that of a caveman (meaning it'll fill you up TWICE) They gave my niece a Strawberries & French Toast plate for a adult but they charged us for a kids plate since it was their fault and they were happy to give it to us, and we were HAPPY to share it all... My friend and I had breakfast here on a Saturday morning. The Place is small and the decorations are pretty cute. They have a 50's themed restaurant but that's the only good thing about this place. The wait to get our food was very long but they didnt seem that busy. The food itself was mediocre at best and we had to ask several times to refill our water. They served my friend two pieces of BURNT toast. The toast was black and there was no way anyone would want to eat it. How can the cook let two pieces of burnt toast leave his kitchen? You would think if the cook missed it, maybe the waitress would say something but no, she didn't. I would be embarrassed if I were to serve burnt toast to anyone. There are wonderful cafe's in Watsonville but this is certainly not one of them! I would never go back here again. read more

We have ridden our motorcycles by this little cafe for years but never stopped. That changed today and I am SO happy it did. What a great find! The decor is cool, lots to look at. You can sit inside or outside. Johnny, the owner is at the grill and the server is very sweet. I had the Banana French Toast. WOW...yummy! It was perfect without using the maple syrup! Sweet and gooey! Because of another review, my husband ordered "Johnny's Mess", basically a egg scramble with thick bacon and a bunch of other fabulous stuff in it. It was a huge portion it was, but because it was SO good, he was able to eat it all. They use Corralitos Meat, which makes sense....its awesome. They also had fresh Blood Orange slices from a local's tree. We arrived almost at lunch time so we missed getting a Cinnamon Roll so we will definitely be going back!
