Usually I have nothing but great things to say about this place and the last three times I have been so disappointed. Items are not given to me when I've ordered then to send me all the way back after I've been charged for them to say that I wasn't. I ordered the calamari which is usually so tasty the oil seem like it hasn't been changed in a while the calamari was awful along with the chicken fried steak I usually loved and that was so soggy and just awful as well! Then this go around we got a chorizo scramble which I have no words for how tasteless it was. I'm so sad. Ill be taking a break from here for a while. read more

All I can say is perfect crispy hashbrowns. Everything we had was ok. I expected something different from the cinnamon buns but when the first thing that comes into mind is Cinnabon you expect sweet and gooey. These were light and buttery. Great for breakfast. There are quite a few things on the menu I want to try. If you go make sure that you look at the specials board outside. Had the Caddy omelette. It was very good. The home fries were good too. The waitress was very sweet and friendly. Next time we'll go earlier before all the locals show up, as it's very small. The food was fresh, hot, and good. It's not a place to go and relax for a long time though, as there are lots of people coming, and waiting for a table. It's great for business, however, my suggestion would be to offer coffee and a place to sit outside while waiting, rather than at the door. Nice little 50's café. Great breakfast eats. Had the James Dean... I didn't want bell peppers or mushrooms. It was very nice the waitress came back after putting my order in and offered free other subs of vegetables, or extra cheese. Very cool that without me asking they felt since I took a few ingredients out they wanted to offer free subs!! Not many places do that! So that Up the Tip level. Service was good. Not super busy, but definitely not super fast. Takes a bit to cook to order. So just don't be in a super rush. I had always been attracted by the Caddy on the roof the few times I drove by. Decided to give it a try last weekend. Far exceeded my expectations! The first thing my wife noticed is how clean the place is... on the patios, I would've expected to see at least one cobweb or something somewhere, but it was spotless. Like, Disneyland-level clean. I ordered a Chavela, eggs Benedict and sausage/gravy based on the recommendations on Yelp, and I wasn't disappointed. The eggs Benedict with hash browns is on par with the best I've had, and the portion (especially the amount of ham) was huge! The ham was also very moist and tender, eggs cooked perfectly, hash browns perfect, hollandaise excellent! The biscuits and gravy were good but I felt the gravy was a bit on the sweet, flour-y side (I prefer more savory) and the biscuits were on the dense side (I prefer more airy/flaky biscuits), but perhaps this is personal preference. I couldn't finish it all, the portions like I mentioned were huge. My wife ordered a chicken club sandwich with onion rings and absolutely loved it. The prices are extremely reasonable for the amount of food you get, you definitely get your bang for your buck here. The menu seems quite extensive, and I'm looking forward to coming back to try the omelettes, then try the burgers, then try the pancakes... oh my this is not going to be good for my waistline! Finally I should mention that the service was absolutely top-notch... super friendly, everything came out quickly. Really nothing to complain about, this place really knows how to run a nice breakfast-lunch establishment! So much better than Red Apple cafe in every way. read more

Went on Sunday at had a great experience. Sat outside -- with plenty of distance from others. Service was prompt and courteous. Food came out quickly. I had the Ruben with onion rings. Onion rings were hot and crisp. Reuben was outstanding. Menu sez they make their own corned beef. It pays off. Wife had one of the scrambles and loved it. We've been spending more time in Aptos these days and it's surprising how much of a food desert it is. Will surely be returning to this place soon. read more

The cinnamon bun this morning was a play-doh knock off of an under baked idea of something not to be. Not sure how to describe the wheat toast order that took the place of original un-edible Bun. I first came here about 20 years ago when the original owner was present. I frequented this restaurant because of the good food. But, over time the food became substandard and the restaurant not maintained well and I quit going. So, I thought I would give it another try when I learned of new owners. In the last 4 weeks, I have visited Cadillac 4 times. I am so happy! Great food and lots of it. Fabulous eggs benedict (wonderful hollandaise) and Mexican breakfasts like huevos a la mexicana (with refried beans, potatoes and tortillas) and huevos rancheros (just the right amount of spicy for me). Today I had one of the best patty melts I've ever tasted. Perfectly grilled rye bread, good quality tasty hamburger that didn't trail grease all over my hands. I found the prices to be reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. And....kudos to the owners for doing a good job of keeping their restaurant clean. I'm already planning my next visit and will most likely order the fish tacos. I overhead a woman sitting at the next table comment on how fresh and delicious her fish tacos were. Don't order the chicken fried steak. I ordered it and it was tough. The waitress stated it was the first time they ever made it. Joe's scramble was great, hash browns on point, French toast awesome, coffee was strong, jellies yummy. Services was slow, so be prepared to wait and talk with your party. My wife and I came in with only a few people in there and it took 45 minutes to make a club sandwich and eggs Benedict which they apparently do everyday. When the food finally came it was okay, the French fries are store bought frozen and were burnt. It cost $31 for a sandwich and the eggs Benedict. Great service. friendly Staff. I had the French toast with a side of bacon. The French toast was great and the bacon as well, but the bacon was really expensive. A side of Bacon was $5.75!!! Cadillac Cafe is one of my favorite neighborhood brunch places. It's at a rural crossroads, making it quite out-of-the-way and practically secluded. You could miss it if you don't have someone familiar with it show you. The building is humble and a bit cramped, but it has character. It's filled with decorations of vintage rock 'n' roll and Hollywood characters. Where Cadillac shines best is its staff. They are welcoming and friendly, they smile when you enter even when they're busy. I enjoy a cafe where I can still ask for a recommendation or an option from the server and get a positive reply. Sometimes they do get busy. Just remember this is not a fast food restaurant. The food is also hearty and traditional American breakfast/lunch diner food, so the menu may look a little like Denny's, but it's so much better. The eggs taste like eggs. The bacon smells like bacon. At a chain restaurant everything tastes and smells like everything else. At Cadillac, it's real food. read more
