Dr. Friemel and her staff were incredibly kind, accommodating, and took over an hour to answer all of my questions and to talk about the different options. I normally see a different veterinarian office, which is also good, but they were closed and recommended Swann Animal Clinic. The exceptional care, compassion, and sensitivity that Dr. Friemel and the Swann staff demonstrated today has certainly convinced me to take my current pet and any future pets to her from now on. While I have interacted with many good veterinarian here and in the DFW area where I am originally from, I can safely say that Dr. Friemel has been the best. Thank you, Dr. Friemel, for making such a difficult time a less painful and for your compassionate care.

We were told as the hours ticked by that they had equipment malfunction. Finally in the early afternoon (she was brought in at 8am) they released her. We took her home and immediately brought her back where this man (Hodges) then came in and arrogantly said we'd have to pick her up at 5pm when they closed for the weekend and take her to the animal ER to be on oxygen. What!! I had pictures from the morning pre-treatment and she was fine. We'd never met Hodges and he accused me of lying. In shock we drove home where Hodges phoned and said "she's dying, she's dead." Our beloved little girl was handed to us at the back door in a body bag. Not ONE word of anything from Hodges or Kinser. We were and still are heartbroken. I posted on NextDoor, a city-wide media, and received pages and pages worth of testimonies from people on this man and his cruelty going back to the 1980's. Then I get a flyer in the mail trying to drum up business....are you kidding me. The cruelty continues.

He wasn't.... beautiful young Great Dane, anyway they looked him over and he was in great shape and we found him a good home. They did'nt charge me a dime. Turns out Amarillo has a problem with spaying and neutering its pets. I would see a lot of abandoned dogs and stray cats all of the time. Sad. If you get to the Vet early you can get right in, but there usually is a line. You get the feeling the staff is underpaid and overworked but it is a kind of God's work. I wish them the best and hopefully, they will be around for many years to come. They truly give hope to the animals in the area. By the way, thanks for the free cat Bix, we renamed him Milo. He has now lived in Amarillo,TX, San Fransico, CA and now resides in Loveland, Colorado. Great cat with a second chance.

The vet went over the costs of all the testing. We controlled how much we spent. The cat had several issues that needed to be addressed. The cat is home & doing better. He said he wouldn't continue with the surgery to save us expense if it " wasn't going to help her" . He did complete the procedure at a fair price and our fur baby is doing great all considered. We went to High Plains Veterinary Clinic due to my puppy not eating we felt like something was…read morewrong she has been like this for about 3 days, walking, interacting, and overall moving. They did a parvo test, came back positive so they gave her an "antibiotic." When we got her back she had a huge lump by her neck backside, they said it was normal. When we got her back she seemed a little off we thought it was the "antibiotic". 2 hours go by and she was significantly worse, still not eating, not responsive, can't even stand, locked jaw and her eyes started rolling back. We called to see what they can do about this they said they really can't do anything about it except for offering to euthanize her. They were in-comprehensive, money hungry,and only wanting to create opportunity for them to make money. We asked for advice and got nothing. We paid 300$ for medicine she can't even take and the other option was 700$ for a night at the vet and they check on them every 2 hours. My puppy is still sick and unresponsive we are doing our best to keep our Rosie alive these people have no intention to help,all they want is money. Would give negative stars if I could.

Come to find out she had cancer and we chose to do the kind and loving thing to let her cross over the rainbow bridge. They were kind, thoughtful, considerate, helpful. Emergency vets are paid on commission and up charge all they can to get their paycheck. My son took his 1 yr old Double Doodle in for a 1"-2" inch incision near his groin. So initial visit was xray, blood, work, and diagnosis was $453.00, this was after it was told $100 of an after hours office fee. After my son was in the office alone, because the "VET" has the dog for 2hrs, they came in and gave my son 2 options. Option 1 was to medicate the dog consisting of anitibiotics x ray, ultra-scan?????, labs, and 8 medications. Option 2 which my son stated the Dr was pushing was $1824.15 was the surgery option which include going in checking intestine, and legs to make sure nothing was damaged, and then the suture on the opening. After my son told her he was a college student she said thats "ok, the dogs fine", really but you tried the up-sale first. After my son called me I called the office and spoke with a receptionist. I explained to her that I was wanting to know the charges they were charging my son. I explained that the animal was my dog, but I was at work and couldn't bring him. I was told my the receptionist that my son had denied some of the treatments of the "baby". I explained to her that the Dr was taking advantage of of my son, and her explination was "your son was given estimate and agreed to it". I asked if I could speak wit the Dr, ad I was told "no" that is not possible unless she was in the room with my son. I told the receptionist I was headed up there, and she said "well the Dr, will be leaving in 30 mins. When my son arrived home, he said that he had paid $325.98, and the dogs incision was still not closed, but he had 4 meds. I noticed in the notes at 6:55pm, the receptionist noted that I had called complaining of taking advantage of son. In her notations, the response was "we show estimates to son and he agreed, notated my phone number and that I was very "harsh". Notated that she had told me I couldn't speak with Dr.????if they were not in the room with patient. We spoke with several Vet friends, who advised us that was ridiculous, and the are just money grabs. Reda the reviews, make your on judgement but this lady Dr Behrends, and this clinic is a joke.
