Be cautious when taking your pet here. They lack the necessary training and equipment to handle certain cases. My dog had been sick and dehydrated, and they administered fluids to her. Unfortunately, she passed away. I spoke with her primary vet about this, and he was confident that the fluids were given too quickly, which contributed to her death. The staff appeared friendly and accommodating, but it's important to be mindful and aware of the facility's & staffs capabilities when using them. read more

The staff and the doctors are really nice and helpful. My only problem is that they don't tell you about the hidden costs until after the procedures. For an example, I signed up my two cats for the $20 Paw plan and after I Saw the vet doctor, they told me there was a $50 membership fee for each cat so instead of it costing me $40, I paid $150. Same thing also applied when I had my dog neutered. They put the wrong cone on him after his surgery and when I went back to get the correct con they charged me $15 for their mistake. After arguing with the lady over the phone, She refunded me my money. Just be careful of the hidden costs. They will not tell you unless you ask. And that's just bad business! Update: After somebody from the vet office responded to my Review, you still didn't answer the question on why you guys have hidden fees. Your response says absolutely nothing about my current post. Trying to offer the best vet clinic doesn't mean anything if you're going to spring hidden fees on somebody. Just wanted to give everybody an update 9/17/21 I called the vet office and ask them why I was continued to be charged on my credit card. The way it was explained to me was that when you take advantage of a service, they charge you a small fee every month until that service has been paid off and then you will not be charged again until you take it vantage of another service. They have charged me monthly for services that I have not used. That's unacceptable and I will be touching base with Citibank to get all of my money back! I don't understand how a business can run like this! Why are you taking money from people when you don't have the legal right to! I have two cats! Why in the hell did I get charged 3 times! We were from out of town but visiting friends there and our little guy had an unfortunate fall and fractured his pelvis in multiple spots. We called and they got us right in without an appointment. Dr. Dai McWhorter and staff were so wonderful to get him on some medication and discussing his radiographs with us and the medication was perfect to keep him stable until he saw a specialist. He's going in for surgery today but I really want to express my gratitude towards doctor and team. I used to recommend this place to everyone. Dr. Hardy performed multiple surgeries on my pups. Always caring about how they were doing. Not sure what happened to the place. Ever since they have done the remodel of the building the front desk seems to be very distracted, not very caring. Just the other day i witnessed a customer standing at the counter for at least 10 minutes waiting to ask a question while an older lady behind the counter continued to work on her computer without even acknowledging the customer? Another desk person finally came out of the back room to take care of her? Did someone buy this business out? It seems that their focus has changed in the past 2 years. I understand how prices have risen due to the economy, but, they seem to be more focused on the almighty dollar now than caring and diagnosing you pet. Amazing friendly staff and the waiting time is not at all like my previous vet clinic (I will give no names) I can actually go in on my lunch hour to get the specific cat food I need and be out in just a few moments. As soon as we got our puppy,Star, we brought her to Animal Medical Center. Star was only 3 months old at the time and now she is a 1 year old. She has had her vaccines, her check ups, she was chipped and spayed here. Each visit we felt like Star was getting the very best care. They even clipped her nails. The Center is clean and very tidy. The best Veterinarian Clinic in Amarillo hands down! After moving to Amarillo I struggled to find quality care that my fur babies deserved! I had been to a couple of different vets whom were ok but not the care I expect! From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted by the friendliest receptionist staff! We have become very fond of Shelby! We had never met her before and she has made us feel like apart of the family! My dog Vader and cat Kylo adore her! All of the Veterinarians at the clinic are top notch but the two I use are Dr Hardy whom had went to extensive lengths to help us with our very sick cat pearl! We will never forget her compassion and care and patience with us as we had to in the end make a pretty tough choice! And she is so good with our Vader! Dr Webb is incredible with our cats and my cat in particular Kylo truly loves her! While driving across country my dog became very ill. I called Animal Medical Center at 4pm to see if I could get my girl in that day and they said sure, come on in. The front staff promptly checked us in and the vet saw her within a matter of minutes. She ran blood work and we decided to keep her there overnight for observation. I do not recommend Animal Medical Center. Their service was mediocre, but acceptable-better than the service at Swann Animal Clinic at 45th. Every time I have tried to order my flea/tick/heartworm treatment from 1-800-PetMeds, they will not approve the order, as required by law. The reason is that they want me to buy it from them at a considerably higher price. I am retired and have a fixed budget. This just happened again. I called them and they said, "We no longer work with third party pharmacies." My reply was, "Well, that is pretty sorry. Goodby." I will no longer use their services. read more

I was a customer of Animal Medical Center for 3 years and took my pets there for all my veterinary needs. I recently moved to the other side of town and started taking my pets to Noah's Ark on 45th and coulter. I got my pets visit & heartworm tests there, but they did not have any revolution as it was on order so I proceeded to go to my old vets office (Animal Medical Center) where I was told they would not accept Noah's Arks heartworm test and could not sale me revolution. Needless to say, I was a little upset that they would not take the tests results from Noah's ark and acted like the vet at Noah's ark did not know what they are doing. For this reason i will never go to Animal Medical Center. I called Coulter Rd Animal Hospital and they took Noah's Arks visit and heartworm test records and sold me the revolution. I think Animal Medical Center should work with other vets and not offend its old customers for no reason other than receiving the MONEY for doing the visit and heartworm test. There the only vet in town, that I know of, that would do this. I would suggest taking you animals to Hope, Noah's Ark or Coulter Rd Animal Hospital. read more

Amarillo Medical Center is a great place to take your pet. The office is clean, the staff is extremely professional (and nice) and they give great medical care to your animals. Other vets in Amarillo tend to be for larger animals like horses and cows, but Amarillo Medical Center seems more focused on our smaller animals of the family. read more

I want to warn other about a dangerous vet in town please avoid taking your loved pets there at all cost. Animal Medical Center killed my French bulldog. Evee went in for a routine C section Saturday at 1. Dr. Hardy assured me that there were no complications and everything went well with the procedure. And proceed to charge me double what a routine C section cost just because it was a Saturday but mind you they were open on their normal operating hours. They sent us home with Evee and her babies after about an hour of being there total including the surgery. Should they have actually given her the proper post operative monitoring and care she needed she would have noticed that she was not ok to discharge home. It was a Saturday however and they closed at 2 so they wanted to make sure to get us out by closing time. They didn't leave us with a number for any complications noticed or any discharge instructions. Less than 12 hours later at 1030 that night she passed away on her way to the emergency vet. I want people to know Evees story so they can avoid loosing a beloved animal to this careless facility. Please I am urging you share this with your friends and family so justice can be served for my Evee girl. Dr. Hardy had a case where she almost killed a woman's dog after surgery by not disclosing that the dog aspirated during surgery who knows what she is hiding with what really happened with my baby girl. We are waiting for a necropsy but I am almost certain she had internal hemorrhage and Dr. Hardy carelessness killed my baby girl and made it unnecessarily hard for her puppies without their mama. read more

I helped my boss out with his dog recently and got to meet the amazing staff at AMC! Each employee I came in contact with was professional and sweet along with being amazing with the animals they take care of! Unfortunately my own dog contracted a virus this past weekend from my mother's dog, I knew without a doubt I wanted to bring him in to AMC due to my recent experience with them. My dogs vet had retired a couple years ago and we had not found a new Veterinarian until we came here! They were so good at explaining everything they wanted to do or not do for my sick dog. Discriminated against me because of my disabled veteran status, and refused service to my sick cat and I after I complained about the rude, unprofessional behavior of an employee. And that was after keeping my little cat and I needlessly sitting in the near empty waiting room for 30 minutes past her appointment time. I had to physically go up to the counter and mention how long we'd been kept waiting. Then, weeks later, I received a hateful email from an employee named Jeanine or Jeanene telling me my cat and I would not be allowed back in to the clinic. I will be contacting Better Business Bureau, as well as an attorney. But hey, if you want be charged the highest rates in the area, and deal with emotionally unstable, vindictive crybaby employees; this may be the place for you. read more

Dr Culp and the entire medical staff have taken a real interest in our dog and cat as well as the occasional stray that we drag through AMC. This vet, would not do surgery to do a biopsy for a tumor that was going in my dog, every month spending more than one hundred dollars seeing the doctor once a week with many antibiotics! The only way they did surgery was that I pushed them too it! we are now in the middle of going to an Oncologist 6 hours away! We have used many different vets in Amarillo, but have never been super satisfied. Our cat, Swiffer, had an infected tooth and got a recommendation to AMC from a co-worker. The staff were professional and knowledgeable. The infection was worse than expected, so they were able to squeeze her into their schedule for surgery. Both of our dogs have had medical problems over the years and the vets have taken care of these problems.
