Great campground, especially for anyone visiting the Renaissance Festival. Each site is incredibly spacious. There's a limit of 6 adults (or total people, I can't recall) per site, but hypothetically, there'd be enough room for more! I camped with 4 other friends with 3 different tents and had plenty of room to play volleyball, set up a projector and screen, and chairs around the fire ring. The bathhouses are clean and very nice for campground bathhouses. Seems like there's ample amount of bathhouses spread throughout. Worth it to have the sites with electric for any simple needs. Camp store had plenty of wood and other fun stuff too! Will definitely be returning! read more

I had a great time camping here this weekend. First weekend in OCT and the hot day and warm lake allowed for very enjoyable swimming. I got lucky with our spot being just a few minute walk to a lil private beach for fishing and swimming. It was a bit tricky to get down the cliff but once you do there is a very long rocky beach to play and explore. Bathroom and campsites were clean. I personally would like a few more trees at the campsites for privacy and hanging hammocks but i would still return for the beautiful lake! read more

Nice campground but very very rude caretakers. Will not be back and will not recommend. We made a reservation for one night since it was about the halfway point on our travels. Called and told them we would be getting on late. Our confirmation did not show our site number. We thought it was 70 (it was 90- oops) Anyways - no big deal because it's November and there was only half a dozen campers. We head out this morning but took a little drive around the campground to check it out. The caretakers (who conveniently did not give us their names) were "upset" saying we didn't have reservations and didn't pay and needed my companions disabled paperwork, etc... very very rude. So we were nice enough to go to the office and talked to CJ (who was very nice and professional). She found our reservation and had no issues. The caretaker (female) was still upset and tried to insist that she needed to see my companion's license to make sure his name matched his disability paperwork. We did not oblige. Although the campground is nice and clean, the entire experience soured it for us. We will not be back and will not recommend to anyone. We had a reservation for on our way back from our trip but have canceled it. We will stay somewhere else. read more

We camp a lot and never ever have we encountered such massive sized lots. The cul-de-sac spots are amazing and there is room for boats, extra vehicles and plenty of playing and sitting. Massive sites!!! The camp host was friendly, quite hours are observed and areas are well mowed with lots of wildlife amongst us. We were greeted by a momma deer and two baby fawns. There is a boat dock area that offers amazingly stunning sunset views. If your a senior Ohioian prices are $14 mid week, we are not but so happy we camped here. They are pricey on firewood, there are locals thay have cut wood, too. Always burn local wood. Venture into Xenia and Yellow Springs for fun jaunts. read more

Drove a couple hours to come here. Disappointed overall. Drove all around in the country because the address used to map directions from the web landed us in a corn field. Eventually found what we thought was the park but it wasn't really. ‍ There are signs that mark the park but there isn't one area into the park. Landers Road on the park map isn't even a road anymore. ‍ If you want to check this place out, get the GPS location for the exact place you want to go. The Pioneer Village was cute. Pretty run down compared to something like Spring Mill. Despite being there at 4pm, the bathrooms and the entire village was closed. ‍ DOG TRAINING AREA: 1) This could be better marked with signage. We drove around for a half hour looking for this place. 2) Be aware this is only for hunting dogs! This is a brushy field. If you do not have hunting dogs- don't waste your time. read more

I was looking for hiking trails along the shores but there is no established trails here. There are some short improvised trails made by the campers. So poor for hikers. I asked about trails and the person on duty did not know of any. On the camping side: there are very nice paved and grassy loops that seem great for campers and tents. It looks like (did not ask) that they can be reserved and there is a fee. Boating ramp is provided on a large lake. Water level was quite low this month and it would take some finesse launching. read more

Let me start off by saying that I would definitely return. However, there are a few cons... 1. They called me the day before I was to arrive and said my reserved site didn't have electric anymore but I could transfer to a different site upon arrival. 2. I get there and was told to look around and pick a few I was interested in and come back to check in. I picked 6, they were all taken so ended up with what the gave me. Bad idea...it was right next to a "trail" that led to another loop which was right by the basketball goals. So I heard basketball playing the entire time and people constantly, randomly all hours of day walking thru my site! 3. No water at the site which I knew ahead of time but I walked down to the shower house to use the water fountain I saw out front...it was broken. 4. Shower house (near site 258) was pitiful and dirty. Showers didn't have any benches or hooks to hang stuff on so I had to hang over the door which didn't close (sorry for the show anyone got). 5. No real, easy access to lake from the site, you have to drive about 20 minutes to get to the beach. 6. The campsite store was out of wood so I had to go down the road to pay $10 for a small stack. 7. The beach was full of geese and poop everywhere! Pros... 1. Lots of activities to do within 30 minute drive..hiking, fishing, swimming, sightseeing, boating, etc. 2. People were very nice at the campground. The place was clean. 3. Very dog friendly area 4. They didn't charge like some places do to get into the beach. 5. You can access the lake thru some crude trails from the campground for sunset/sunrise viewing. read more

oddest campground ever. Was pretty much like most state parks.......except for the campers. I've never seen so many........how should I say......."rude" and "different" campers. Odd!! Not sure I'd camp here again! Like I said, the sites, the bathrooms, etc like most state parks. read more

We are new campers-the kiddo has been bugging me to take our tent out more. So, we ventured here for the weekend to watch the meteor shower. We were pleasantly surprised with the camp sites, which were well maintained. We go to Caesars Creek quite often, to take the boat out for a few hours, so I'm familiar with the lake, however we've never really explored much other than the water. We enjoyed the camp site and enjoyed the trails taking us to the water. We brought the dog, and never had an issue. In fact, many people brought their dogs! It's always nice to have a dog friendly area to go to. One thing I will say, if you have bikes, bring them. You'll get a lot of use out of them. We didn't bring ours, but will definitely come back with bikes in tow next time. The bath house was very clean, and not a far walk from our campsite. All in all, a pretty good place to camp! read more

Spent a week here, maybe it was due to the off season but it was awful. Bathrooms were dirty, sites poorly maintained, camp store was closed Mon, Tue, and Wed so we had to drive to a gas station about 15 minutes away for firewood and ice. Also no alcohol in Ohio state parks? It would have been nice to have a warning BEFORE I booked the trip, not a small sign at the campground entrance. I would not recommend this place to anybody. read more

Great camp ground. Camp sites were large enough. Showers were not as good as most state parks. Ok Big lake.

We have stayed here in the past and loved it. I took my camper out of storage on Tuesday July 2nd and headed down there to snag a walk in for the 4th of July weekend. When we got there we were informed that the walk in sites had been booked already for that weekend, but we could stay Tuesday and Wednesday night. The walk in sites were empty, but we were not able to get one. They obviously took reservations on them and were trying to double dip and get our camping fees for two nights. That goes against the whole concept of a "walk in" we were first come, but not served. read more

There hasn't been anyone on staff all week. So, the restrooms have not been cleaned, there was no hot water in the showers, our fire pit was damaged, as well as our picnic table. Worst. Campground. Ever. read more
