They also left us vouchers for the restaurant downstairs as a sorry and I thought that was a nice touch. - The hotel's gym area had so many things: pool that's open till 10 PM, lots of tennis courts, lots of pickleball courts, and a full gym. I found out you can pay $12/day to get access if you are not a guest. Grows: - robes would be nice to elevate the experience, esp since we have the pool - hot tub would be nice - fans in bathrooms

The building itself is situated in an area that's relatively close to everything and would be a short drive- Uber ride away. Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly front desk staff. We were then passed over to another pair that wanted to help us with our trips itinerary. They were overly friendly and wanted to be really helpful. We had things to do so we went up to our room and that's when the phone calls started. They were very aggressive and I did not put two and two together until I remembered this was a Wyndham hotel *cue ominous music*. It's a Wyndham. You're gonna get offered all kinds of free stuff and discounts but you have to attend a "presentation" in order to get them. In Wyndham speak that means timeshare presentation. If you don't know, they basically kidnap you and force you to buy a timeshare for 20 plus thousand dollars (I'm exaggerating but the sales pitch is extremely high pressure and if you say no, they will turn on you and act like you're stealing food out of their kid's mouths.) If you possess the power of the word "NO" and hold your ground then you'll be just fine. However, if you are not and you are swayed or can be swayed avoid them like the plague. They come off as friendly, charming, and helpful, but the second you say "no"?, like I said earlier, they are going to turn on you. You have been warned.

The issues at this hotel are so numerous, I don't know where to begin…read more Let's start with the worst, they only had one operable elevator out of 3, most of our visit. In addition to that we had an issue checking in, there was not a room ready when we arrived and we were told we would be called when it became available. They never did.When I called to check if my room was available, they were rude and discourteous and I was told that they did not have my phone number. Which I I gave them along with my email address when I checked in. The toilet did not work properly and took flushing 3x each time. The coffee pot was broken and when I called I was told that no one would be available to take care of it until 8 AM the next morning. No offer to leave a note or to take care of it in the morning, but I should call back. There were no clean towels at the pool so we had to bring towels from the room. But our towels were not restocked, we had to go ask for them. To add Insult to injury, our last night our room key didn't work. We had to wait a ridiculous length of time, given that only one elevator worked to go to the lobby to have it corrected. They apologized profusely, but did nothing. We went back to our room and the keys still didn't work. Maintenance literally had to break into our room. Mind you, they want $100,000 for their timeshare program. I would not have their timeshare program, if they gave it to me. I categorically would not recommend this property under any circumstances. On a positive note , the building and room were very nice and the day we arrived there was a crawfish boil. But I still would not recommend them.

The hotel was 1000 times better than a Air BnB that we stayed at two nights before getting to the hotel. We got good sleep in the hotel. The view from our rooms was great as we could see the bridge and the fireworks from our rooms. The room itself that I stayed in was cleaned daily and towels changed and the beds made. The staff was respectable and professional at the front desk, bar, and housekeepers. There was one gentleman working the doors (maybe a bellhop or valet) that was too flirty with the young women from our group which maybe was not too professional. Each of the ladies was given a voucher for a free drink at the bar. The mixed sangria drink was pretty good. We were told that because there are no ice machines we just needed to call room service for all the inclusive bottled water and ice that would be delivered to the room. I called and was told that the water and ice would be right up. It never came. I went to the front desk and they gave me the bottled water and I was told to get the ice from the hotel bar. The property itself is okay but like many hotels I have stayed in for business and leisure, this property needs some repairs and updates. The vents in the rooms and bathrooms need the dust and dirt cleaned out, the toilet seat in one of the bathrooms needed to be adjusted or straightened out. The television (when we were in the room) went dark and the column went up and down by itself). The bedside had plenty of outlets for charging our phones, watches and tablets. But the one on the side of the bedside table actually yanks out of the table. The fan or vent fan in the bathroom doesn't let steam out. I think the hotel was marketed to us as a spa and yet there was no pool at the hotel. The crown molding is cracking and peeling in the rooms. Also, considering the size of the hotel the sundries area is small and the microwave is small (like dorm size microwave). You'd think that they would have a larger microwave or two medium sized microwaves. The hotel has baggage hold in case you get there before check in. We got lucky that they had some rooms ready when we arrived a few hours before check in. I really was grateful for that. The water in the shower was always to me crab boil hot which was good. One of our ladies said that the water was lukewarm on the last morning. Lastly, the street parking behind the hotel was more affordable than parking in the big parking lot.

It's directly across the street from the convention center, so I can see why it gets a lot of business. Unfortunately, that's where the positives mostly end. When we checked into our room, we were immediately greeted by a strong moldy smell. The bathroom sink wouldn't drain, the toilet shut-off valve was wrapped in duct tape, and there were cracks throughout the bathroom floor. The room felt worn out and in desperate need of repairs. Whenever we reported an issue or requested assistance, it took a long time for anything to be addressed. The customer service was disappointing, the maintenance team was unresponsive, and housekeeping did not meet expectations either. Overall, the hotel seems to lack effective management. This property is overdue for a thorough renovation and major upgrades. While the location is excellent, the condition of the hotel and the level of service make it difficult to recommend. The one bright spot was the bar. We ordered the wings and vegetables, and both were fresh and tasted great. It's unfortunate that the food was the highlight of an otherwise disappointing stay

Ms. SHARON was extremely friendly, helpful, kind and went far beyond to accommodate us. Every time we saw her she was smiling and truly look like she loves what she does. Love her. Give her a raise. Now this beautiful hotel is a walk away from everything if you enjoy walking or about 6-8 mins drive. The room is modern with black and white decor, clean, neat, smelled amazing upon entry, Comfortable bed, right hot water temperature, pressure and 75 inch tv on the wall or is it 65in lol. Not much of a view because of location but ours was great. We didn't take advantage of the room service because we ate so much when we were out. Keep up the excellent job housekeeping. Since my hubby had just stayed at a Cambria in Philly, we said why not. Found a reasonable deal and booked. Location is great. Close enough to the Convention Center and Riverwalk to walk. Actually easy to walk to the French Market, Jackson Square and the galleries on Royal Street. Check out MS Rau. This art gallery is like a museum where you can buy masterpieces by Monet, Picasso and Chagall, if you can afford them. I just go to look and admire my some of my favorite artists. Lots of cute restaurants and coffee shops within a few blocks. Or just go to watch the sunset from a beautiful view along the Mississippi River a few blocks away. Check in was so easy. Asked for a quiet room on a higher floor. No problem. Alteion was so responsive when I mentioned an issue. Thanks also for a nice breakfast at the U-Bar. So easy and efficient. So why four stars when the staff earned five?? Housekeeping. Or rather lack of housekeeping. That was a mercy two at best. For a stay of four nights/five days with daily housekeeping included I have a few basic expectations. The garbage can should be emptied. The garbage can in the bathroom was finally emptied on the day before we checked out. The other garbage can was never emptied. It was overflowing with empty cups of Chai from Nova, paper bags, and party supplies for graduation by the time we left on Sunday morning. If the towels are soaking wet and on the floor, they should be changed. That happened exactly once during our four night stay. After, I let the front desk know on the day before we checked out. If there is a coffee maker and there are no coffee cups in the room and no coffee pods next to the Keurig, the assumption is that they should be replaced. Common sense, right. It was easy to tell that the room was not properly cleaned as the bed was never made, there were crumbs on the floor and the bathroom was filled with a combination of towels hung up to dry and some left on the floor. (We however did clean the bathroom, kitchen, windowsills and more at the house that my daughter and her roommates are leaving after four years of school at TSOM.) This hotel has the makings of a really good place to stay. It is so cute. Love the brick warehouse district walls and the Big Easy artwork. Just needs some simple common sense fixes. Note: There are entrances on both Commerce and Tchoupitoulas. Important to know if you order a UBER, Lyft or have your daughter pick you up to go to Trivia Night or an Arcade Bar. You also will need your room key to enter on Commerce after hours and to access the elevator to your hotel room. Safety first!

As requested, I will keep the individual location names secret as to not spoil your potential food tour but also because the stops can change and I don't want to have you disappointed if you don't get the same places on your tour. Ty was a great guide, providing us with local history and culture as we ate our way down Magazine Street. The only complaint I have is that they didn't really interact with us during the food portions, standing or sitting off to the side, or running to the next location to make sure we were all set. To me, the guide should be not only the bridge between the locations and food with us, but also a bridge between the different groups on the tour. Ty told us before the tour started that the other folks joining us were from Michigan, but we found out from them later that they were actually from New York. Had these connections been made earlier, it would have enhanced the tour. On to the food, wonderful that it all was! Please note that I may make some errors in the actual names of the food, while I took pictures, I did not write down the names and there wasn't a post-tour recap to assist me! Stop #1: A local sandwich and a seafood side. Both quite good, especially since I don't like olives! Stop #2: An unusual meat that was shockingly good! Stop #3: Seafood options. I've had a different version of one of these items in Asheville, NC. This wasn't quite as good but still tasty. Stop #4: Southern favorites that were so good! I didn't think I would like these but I did. Stop #5: A peppermint fudge cupcake. Sadly, the weakest stop on the tour. Other that tried the gelato came away disappointed and my cupcake was neither overly fudgey or pepperminty. It looked pretty, though!

I'm a Gold Elite Bonvoy member with nearly 30 years as a Bonvoy member. When I checked in, my reserved room type (king room) wasn't available. So, they put me in a queen double on the second floor. No attempt to explore an upgrade...no attempt to make it right. The hotel also now charges a "destination fee" which is honestly just a way to fleece customers for more money. You can get a "free tour" from some local tour companies, but that doesn't make a ton of sense if you are in town for work and aren't in town to play. There is supposed to be a $10 daily food and beverage credit that can be used at the on-site restaurant, but as you can imagine $10 doesn't go very far there. The room was mid at best. The bed was wildly uncomfortable and the pillows might have well been nonexistent (super flat and not supportive at all). The carpet in the room looked like it had definitely seen better days. And, the bathroom needs a complete overhaul. The grout lines are deeply stained from dust, grime and water. There is something accumulating in the corner by the tub. And the "art" in the bathroom appears to have not been dusted in years. Pictures provided. The hotel is TIRED and long overdue for an update. A group of friends and I visited Mardi Gras World during one of our New Orleans trips, and while it…read moreis cool to see some of the old parade floats, I don't know if it's worth a whole trip to see it. The floats are kind of stacked in front of and around each other, but you can still tell what you're looking at because they are so huge. We saw Buzz Lightyear, Spock, Pepé Le Pew, and other gigantic floats, with some non licensed floats like a greek soldier, a fountain, a cow, and a buck toothed dragon. Now here is where things got a little weird. When we got there, we definitely did NOT do a tour, like the website says is required. We perused the gift shop, bought a few things, and then walked through the warehouse by ourselves and saw the floats on our way out. Mardi Gras World is a pretty neat place to visit, but it's definitely outside the central area of New Orleans. For just a quick stop to shop and see a few floats it's fine, but I think if I went back, I would definitely seek out the tour and figure out how to do that!

Progreso- not worth getting off the boat unless you do an excursion or enjoy being hassled to buy something every 2 seconds. Cruise: Great drinks (top shelf), ok-to-good food (better than an all inclusive resort in Mexico). Gotta make your own fun which we did. Small pools (surprising), nice staff, left from New Orleans. Tips: take a power strip (not enough plug-ins in cabin). Buy the drink package before you leave (it costs $130 more for 2 ppl if you purchase on the boat). Skip the WiFi unless you just have to have it (worked half the time). Download the Carnival app w/chat (5$). Spa was way too expensive even with the $50 I won the 1st day in a drawing. The cruise ship is very clean, I really liked our Stewardess. We were sat at table 666 upstairs, and even though we didn't like our table number... We loved the men that took care of us for the are our 5 nights. They no longer have free 24 hour room service with food. The breakfast is very limited options with no type of protein dishes offered. They had a few pools but it was basically a few pools cut in half, it was very small. We did enjoy movies on the deck and the punchliner! Food looks better than it taste.
