Finally checked out this place and I'm glad I did. Nice local kine crowd, good age range from young to older folks, and not overly loud or rowdy, even with the UFC fights going on. Food was your typical bar food, but good. Ribeye steak was on point! The service however was what made my visit really memorable. On top of having smiles that make you melt, waitresses Angie and Angela were constantly checking in to see if we needed anything. That's the sign of a good staff and management. A laid back sports bar with good service. I've come here on numerous occasions. I come here for the PPV UFC fights, which cost $5 to watch or come here for free on the weekends to unwind with friends. Whatever the reason, I always have a good time. There is a decent choice of alcohol and it serves up regular drinks with some good drink specials. Beer pitchers is the usual with a big party. Soco lime shots if you wanna kick it up a notch, but that's just me. They also have good food. The nachos are good. I also recommend the loco moco and steak. The waitresses are nice and pretty, which is a good combo if you ask any guy. I never feel rushed or hassled. I cannot stress how comfortable that makes me. The atmosphere is relaxed. It isn't a hip, trendy place to show off your new Ed Hardy shirt, it's a place to wear your most comfortable t shirt, drink a beer, and play some darts. This bar isn't very big, but somehow everybody knows of this place. It's just one of those bars that everyone knows someone that goes here regularly. I love the bar ambiance. I love darts so it's cool they have so many dart boards and even a private area for darts. There's pool tables too, and a bathroom and lots of open seating for large groups in booth. Must say... I was not a fan of the food. Got the gyoza, beef salad, pork pad thai. Eh. I think I need to stay with the basics you can't mess up like fries and the wings, I think I'd try those next time, so that's why it's a 4 star. But I'd come here for drinks, and fun ambiance. I went on a fight night (crazy right?!) I knew it would be crowded so I didn't expect much. But to my surprise the staff was amazing. They were so busy running around but they never forgot about us. Our cups were full and so was our bellies with the best food all night! The owner was even there helping out and making sure everyone was having a good time. Ive never seen a business owner more caring and concerned with her customers. They even gave out prizes and when it was so loud and we wanted to hear the Champ Max Holloway talk, someone actually held a mic to one of the TV's! It was awesome! Also I'm on keto so I was worried there wasn't going to be much for me to eat but they have plenty of selections on the menu. I would definitely recommend everyone to try this place. read more

Cafe Anasia has been around for decades and really hasn't changed a damn thing besides the drink specials and food menu. This place is always a go to for me and my friends who just wanna hang out while on a budget or not, although we all usually are always. Why fix anything if it's not broken right? They have two pool tables, dart boards and a small basketball shooting game for any friendly competition... challenge accepted! The food is always good, with your typical local bar food. Fried rice, chicken, edamame & nachos. Although this place doesn't look the cleanest or nicest, it's consistency for drinks, food, and service has us coming back every time. read more

Excellent place to hangout if you're in the moilili/ mccully area. Off Beretania St, this place is hidden gem, right next to Toma karaoke. Its the type of place that gives you the illusion it has small capacity when looking at it from the outside, (much like home bar&grill) but walk inside and it is much roomier than meets the eye! SETUP here is quite laid back, an after work pau hana type of joint. I'd imagine there to be a enjoyable happy hour here to share with friends and coworkers.There's bench seats if you plan on bringing in larger parties and ordering from the menu, as well as individual seats up at the bar counter. There is a room to play darts, and they also have the coin operated game machines. The pool tables seemed pretty popular the night i came. Two of them near the back of the bar. Nice lighting. Music varied from 90s, rap, rnb, and top 40. They also have a jukebox, but the music was excellent that night, so i didn't want to mess with it. DRINKS&MENU gazed quickly over the menu, didn't order anything, probably because i ate before i went. But it did look like there were a couple interesting items items on the menu, including salt and pepper pork chops, wafusteak, kalua pork nachos and fried rice. Now i had a couple drinks prior to my arrival here, so i though that in my buzzed state another couple drinks wouldn't have fazed me. I was wrong here! My server served me up a rum and coke. When it came out looking clear as day with a slight tint of brown, i knew right then and there it was going to have a kick. I asked the bartender "So is this straight vodka with a drop of food coloring and sugar?" SERVICE loved it! The servers here are very attentive, very friendly, and they make you feel at home and ease. They're also great to carry on conversation with. After watching Pacquiao vs Bradley 2 here, noticed they have a special on Tuesdays for 50 cents wings. Me and my buddies came here the following Tuesday to pounce on this great deal. OK, in my first review of Anasia, I gave this establishment 5 stars. Now that I have visited Anasia multiple times, it really isn't 5 star worthy... =( The wings were good, but the problem was with our other foods... Steak was pitiful. Advertised on the menu as rib-eye with mushrooms and onions. When it arrived, puzzled, I asked the server where are the mushrooms and onions?!?! I pointed out to the server the menu says clear as day--mushrooms and onions. "Ohhh, they are under the steak.." Huh? Oooops, I stand corrected! The mushrooms and onions were indeed under the steak. What a scant thin layer it was! Oh boy! I think they only used one mushroom for us and sliced that one mushroom! Furthermore, I suspect they had only one onion for the entire restaurant, and gave us one slice of the onion! The dynamite chicken needs work. The chicken itself lacks any flavor--needs spices. The flavors from dynamite sauce and the chicken don't mesh and you can notice the blandness of the chicken. OK, OK... while I am a bit tough above on their food. Anasia does have it's endearing qualities. 1. Great friendly staff. Always constantly checking on us. Superb service & the girls are really cute. 2. Great sports watching venue. Lots of large TVs. Shows the big boxing and UFC events... 3. Offers door prizes for the events they charge cover. For the above 3 reasons, Anasia should actually get 4 stars, but giving 3 stars for the sad $15 bar rib-eye (2 stars worthy). read more

Leave it to two Miami Yelp chicks to find one of the diviest locals-only hangouts in Honolulu. :) (Of course, the credit is really due to our fellow Yelpers, but we still felt like preening chickens when the other patrons were so impressed at our discovery). From the outside, this joint looks like a sketchy Asian food restaurant where drug deals may or may not go down and people may or may not get shot. (Admittedly, we stood outside for a minute before deciding to enter.) The neighborhood is slightly sketchy, though only about a mile from UH. But once you break the barrier, Anasia is just the right combo of dirty dive and winsome secret. The bartender was an adorable gal from Connecticut who kept the beer coming and handled drunken dudes with charming aplomb. Upon arrival, my companion and I were immediately adopted by just such dudes. But they bought us drinks and kept us entertained, so we really weren't complaining. Drinks were cheap, jalapeno poppers were greasy good, and the kimchee fried rice has meat (so vegetarians, avoid). There are plenty of bar games, and a sweet jukebox. No tourists and nice locals. DEETS Cafe Anasia is located on S Beretania Street near Security & Sound Systems, right next door to Toma Karaoke. For those of you who know where Los Chaparos is, Anasia is close by--it's across the street (so on the left-hand side) and a few doors before. FUN BAR The interior is actually much larger than it looks from the outside, which is good I guess. Lots of room for fun bar-type activities and acting crazy... I suppose this could be considered, stereotypically, as more of a man's bar, as it has darts, pool (Billiards), and megatouch. Oh, and some fairly attractive female workers. Maybe a little sexist, but males are the stereotypical drinkers and bar flies - not females. GOOD REP Cafe Anasia has truly made a name for itself. There are a handful of regular groups and patrons that frequent this place on a daily to weekly basis. (Good sign IMO.) Overall, I'd say service is pretty quick and friendly, drinks are reasonably priced, and the food is decent. Parking is a bit of an issue.. BUT if there's a will, there's a way. My friends and I came here for the 1st time and specifically for the seafood. It was AWESOME!!! Food: I had the crab with 1lb shrimp, it was delicious! All the other crab places serve it with butter that leaves me feeling heavy & oily. This sauce is not only delicious but light. I didnt feel oily or heavy after my meal. Everyone of us loved our food. We also had the best garlic edamame. I tried their hottest sauce and it was lava hot! High 5's to all of you that can handle it. For real. Wow! Cheap beers, cheap bar food, darts, pool, and the basketball shooting game! Super chill place to grab a drink at while watching some sports games. Recently I had the cheeseburger (you get 2 burgers! Pretty simple but tasty! Added bacon for $0.50)...the burgers came with crinkly fries. And I was pleasantly surprised with the salt & pepper chicken wings! Those came out piping hot...they were super good! I saw that they added on some Vietnamese offerings. I have some friend who are Anasia regulars, so I've been about 5 times - but never seen the appeal. You can park out front or in the parking lot to the left of the building (so you'll want to turn left into the parking lot before you pass Anasia's). It's tight, but I've never been unable to find parking. There's a few booths, limited bar seating and some tables in the back. I'm a fan of divey, no-frills bars, but Anasia's can't decide which it wants to be. They serve beer out of plastic pitchers, but don't have especially good pau hana specials. They serve Mini-Corn Dogs that's pre-frozen and straight-out-of-the-bag, but also offers a $15 steak on their menu. And the beers are tap are hit-or-miss. About 3 out of the 5 times I've been, you could taste their taps were dirty - which is pretty much the only thing that's unacceptable from a dive bar. It's not a bad bar. You can spend a reasonable amount of money to get mediocre food and drinks (if you don't order whats on tap). But, there's just nothing special or interesting about it. You could come to Anasia and have a few drinks. But, in an area where we've got so many good neighborhood bars to choose from, why would you? read more

Visited here on a wednesday night around 9-10 pm. It wasn't very crowded but hear they usually get late crowds. It seems like they just bought new furniture because the place looked a lot better than I expected. They have pitcher specials daily and a menu of food. I tried the garlic fries and wasn't very impressed by it. They have dart boards and Toma's is next door if you ever feel like singing. The parking lot is small so you might need to find street parking nearby. Overall, not a bad place to grab some drinks and pupus with friends. read more

Good: Darts and Billiards are awesome here, can't really say that for other sports bars. They always have ESPN or live games on the TV's so whenever you just feel like kicking back and having a drink there's some form entertainment. Drink prices are good and the owner is a very nice person, apparently my cousin and his friends come here so much she buy them a round. Bad: Parking is kinda hard to find even though you can use the lot next door. Sometimes it can get a little crowded in here which makes it hard to move around or even find a seat for that matter. Big thumbs up for service!!! Came here not to eat but to chill, drink and play darts with some friends. I had a lot more fun than expected! I find it to be really cool how this Vietnamese restaurant has dart boards, pool tables AND one of those sure shot basketball games that I'm more used to playing at Dave and busters, ha! The drinks tho... so much ice! Can definitely finish a redbull vodka quick and easy. I ended up ordering amfs towards the end- don't really know what I was thinking- but needless to say I had a really fun time! But the service was great! The waitresses were so attentive to us and always asking us if we wanted refills and/or different drinks and/or anything else. This is just a great spot to hang out with your friends and watch a game. The crowd is usually male, local, and in their mid 20s to mid 30s. You'll rarely ever find obnoxious college kids, belligerent military guys, or shady old guys drinking in the corner out here. And that's great, because the crowd is a big reason for going to a bar. As for food, they've got a handful of dishes outside of regular bar food. They serve Vietnames pho noodles too. Don't try the mandoos. They're hard, deep-fried, and I'm pretty sure they bought it from the Costco frozen section. Park in the big lot that's right before Anasia's. The lot looks like it's for the 3 story building there, but as far as I know, it's for customers to Anasia's and Toma's Karaoke. Threw a birthday party here with a not too large gathering of friends. Service was awesome, just like I mentioned in the first review. Food came out fast and great. We had a few orders of pupu's to coat our stomachs before the drinks. Agedashi Tofu - AAAAAWESOME. When it's on special on some nights, it's even more awesssssssome! Dynamite Chicken - Never thought dynamite sauce on fried boneless chicken but it's so good! All types of their fried rice - Better than most Chinese restaurants I tell you. Drinks - Shots get poured just right, mixed drinks are mixed just right. Heck, their $1 shots were not bad too! I prefer a little less busy days going there so I definitely hit up Sunday, Mondays, and Tuesdays! Sunday and Monday's have $5 pitchers. Can't beat the value! Not my type of bar. Won't be back. Definitely not worth the drive all the way from Aiea. A little tight as far as a comfortable capacity for seating arrangement. It's not like what I remembered and the bar was not accommodating as far as orders and timely check ups. The kitchen closed as 11 so as for us coating our stomachs that's didn't happen. This of course caused us not to drink as much or even at all. The pool table are squished to the back with limited area to play and sit. The bathrooms are broom closet size and also serve as a storage unit too. Parking is a mess. It's vertical parking and it's not leveled so be careful if you wear heels. I give them a star for actually carrying my Peach Ciroc vodka. I give them another star for the one and only waitress who was smiling and did check up on us. read more

A friend and I stopped by for pupu and drinks after the UH-UCLA wahine volleyball match. I was pleasantly surprised with the decor, food and atmosphere. From the outside, the place is nothing special which made the lighting, decor and cleanliness inside surprising. It was a Labor Day Sunday, the place wasn't packed but it was slow either. Service was so-so. I prefer when waitresses ask if we need things like specific condiments, extra napkins and things like that rather than having to ask for them. That kind of stuff makes a difference not to mention cuts down on trips for the waitress. I like places where the music is good and loud enough to enjoy. When its too loud, patrons tend to talk louder and you're left with a room full of laughter and yelling. Everything from that standpoint was great, I give the atmosphere an A+. We ordered the garlic fries, rib eye steak with a side order of rice and the salt and pepper chicken wings. The fries was plentiful and had the right amount of garlic. The rib eye was a solid B+, good portion and tender. I would like to try it with garlic next time. It would help if the option was listed on the menu. I was very pleased with the chicken wings. My friend raved about them earlier and they were better than the hype. The coating was thick and flavorful and a great portion size. Overall great 90 minute experience. Everything else makes up for the lack of parking. Anasias has been around forever. It kinda gets forgotten after Home Bar, DASH, Pint n Jigger, etc. But it's a solid place to come for some cheap drinks and food. We usually come after softball Tuesdays, and it's 50cent wings. Gangsta! (get it?) Anywho, pitchers of beer are cold and cheap. Though it tasted a little flat last week. We also get a ton of food. All bad for you. But so good. Mochiko Chicken, cheesy fries, pork chops, edamame, and of course the chicken wings. I feel a little guilty, ordering 24 wings, but really with 4 of us, that's only 6 each. We usually get the salt and pepper wings which get demolished! It's so crispy, salty, hot, steaming, and just the fact that it's served in a red plastic bowl with the wax paper, just makes it seem so authentic. Combined with the cheap beer, it really is addicting. It really is crowded every Tuesday night. I can see why. It's convenient, right on Beretania, close to home, and there's lots of parking. There's no reason not to give it 5 stars. If you think about it: Service - the chicks are awesome. They are nice. They don't care if you're a guy or girl, they're nice to you. They also pool their tips at the end of the night (I don't know what that means exactly, maybe that it's a collective effort and they're not doing it just for the tip??) Food - they've got pho. How many sports bars do you know of that serve pho? Of course, they also have their typical pupus. The price is VERY reasonable, and might I say, even cheaper than other pho places. Maybe the broth is not as good (kind of watered-down the last time I went but is usually OK) but instead of driving over to Zippy's late at night to sober up why not do it at the same bar you got drunk at ; P Extra - They have two billiards tables, a basketball game thing, couple videogames, megatouches, some dart boards, nice amount of tvs, and I think some karaoke as well. The one place I have been coming to consistently for the longest time because the service is great, the food is awesome, and the prices are so reasonable. Drinks are very reasonable. Love this place. Although the only downside is the small parking lot, there is many stalls in the neighboring streets. On the plus side again, they have a couple dart boards and billiard tables that can turn a night of drinking into a night to remember with friends. The regular crowd are guys ranging from 20-40. But on the plus side the hostesses are very pretty. I have never ordered the food here because I normally come for the cheap drinks, but I would consider coming here and ordering it just to sample. read more

I only go to Anasia with a certain group of friends. One of my friends seems to really love this place haha. It's a pretty small place and easy to miss if you aren't paying attention. The parking lot is small so whenever I go, I usually just park on the street. The food, from what I've tried is pretty good. I always order their sweet potato fries, the edamame is good and the kalua pig nachos are pretty good too. The drinks are cheap and they have dart boards, pool tables and other various games to play. They even have a basketball thing (I'm pretty sure they put that in recently because I don't remember it being there the first few times I've been to Anasia). Anyways, it's a fun time if you go with the right people. I don't go out and drink to much anymore, just once in a while to just chill and hang out with my friends. When I do go I usually go here because it's a really laid back friendly place, doesn't get to overly crowded if you go early. Food is good for the price, draft specials are usually available and you can usually find a table to chill at. The food has definitely changed though throughout the years, I'm guessing cause of chef changes probably. Most of the time I'll just play some darts with my friend and just chill and drink, good place to hang out if you just want to relax a bit in the middle of a rough work week. They have a lot of tvs located throughout the bar so it's a good place to watch games also. They got 2 pool tables, 1 minitiare basketball game and 5 or 6 dart boards if you want to have some friendly competition with your friends. All in all a good hang out spot. read more
