Osoyami is our go to bar spot and honestly it is hard to beat for a casual night out. There is a ton of seating which makes it easy to come with friends, and everyone who works here is consistently friendly and welcoming. It never feels rushed even when it is busy. One of my favorite parts is the entertainment. They have three arcade games you can play for free and a dart area, which makes it a fun place to hang out rather than just sit and drink. The alcohol selection is large and there is something for everyone. They also have two food menus which is a huge plus. One from Izakaya Hideyoshi and one from Osoyami itself. I usually order from the Izakaya menu and got the Gyu Don during happy hour for $13. Super affordable for the quality you get and very satisfying. Osoyami's own food menu also has happy hour options and overall the food is delicious. I will say the burger quality has gone down a bit compared to before, but the fries are still really good. Service is fairly fast for a busy bar, which I appreciate. Drinks and food come out in a reasonable amount of time even during peak hours. The ambiance is dark and cozy but the place itself is clean and tidy, not grimy like some bar settings can be. Parking can be a bit tough. They only have around 12 spots and they fill up quickly, but I usually can find street parking nearby without too much trouble. We went here on Friday night. It was our first time. It was not crowded when we got there, but it was pretty full by the time that we left. We tried some happy hour food and their regular menu. We got the western cheeseburger and it was pretty good. Same as the devil eggs. The sushis were not bad. And fries and pepperoni were nice and crisp. Drinks were cheaper than most places. This spot is Honolulu's hidden gem Came on a Saturday night and this place is literally amazing. The vibe is very friendly and casual with a full service bar and arcade games in the corner. All the burgers are like $12 which is unheard of in this economy. Well drinks are $4 (which I took full advantage of) and the owner Blaine was working that day and is the best and took shots with us. The only thing was they charged me wrong (1 less) so the server forgot to give me back my credit card after the second transaction. I was notified a little while after i left that my card was still there, so i had to go back for it. When i did, the parking lot was already full and so was the inside. so if you do decide to come, its prob. better if you show up right at opening. only because it seemed like they had just 2 servers and probably just 1 sushi chef so the wait time might be long. My friend and I were looking for a place to eat that's open late at night and I stumbled upon this place on Yelp. I'm vegetarian so I was happy to see online that they had a vegan menu. Parking was relatively easy to find past 9PM. They checked IDs since it was late which is understandable. The staff were friendly, it is a bar so it was noisy and they had some arcade games. I ordered the vegan pokechos and my friend (who is not vegetarian) tried the vegan teriyaki burger. Both were amazing. I've never seen poke placed on top of nachos but it's a concept that works so well at the same time. It had the right amount of sauce and the nachos were nice and crunchy. I LOVED this place!!! We found ourselves out in the beautiful Oahu waters until sunset almost every day so by the time we got back to the hotel and ready for dinner, many places were closing in Waikiki. This turned out to be actually a blessing because it made us go off the walkable strip and try some other really incredible businesses in the area. Osoyami has SO much to offer! You wouldn't know driving by this quiet street that it is a total vibe inside. We were greeted by a friendly face and a really fun energetic ambiance. There are TVs playing sports, free arcade and dart games, a full bar, and reaaaally good food. There were so many plant-based items it was exciting looking through the menu. We ended up getting the Osoyami Moscow Mule and Rogue Dead Guy Ale to drink - both great! The group assembled Nadine, Ben, Mari and her friend (sorry I forgot her name) though I was called to work so arrived a bit late but made it my mission not to miss out on tonight and just as she does ordered a bunch of her favorites and look what we got!! Loaded Tots, Garlic Fries, Poke Nachos, Buffalo Fries, Pepperoni flatbread and Taquitos. A couple friends already ate and Nadine C had ordered their famous burger so it was me and Mari to chomp it all and I think we did pretty well lol!! Gosh so much yumminess put me in a food coma. Continuing on my search for the best poke nachos in Honolulu, I came across Osoyami Bar & Grill on Yelp. When I arrived a little before 6pm, there were a number of people waiting in their cars for the bar to open, which certainly was a good sign. The neighborhood itself, however, had some sketchy characters. I probably wouldn't stop by on my own in the late evening. They're open from 6pm - 2am, with happy hour from 6-7pm. Upon entering, I realized it was your typical bar and grill with dark walls, loud music, and booths that have been well loved. I came here for one thing and one thing only... their poke nachos! It arrived to my table within 10 minutes and it was a huge plate of spicy ahi poke, wonton chips, kabayaki sauce, spicy sauce, furikake and green onions for $16. Clearly this plate is meant to be shared, but since I was by myself I finished nearly the whole plate! The poke nachos had crispy chips (although they didn't appear to be wonton chips), spicy ahi that was not very spicy, and lots of sauce and green onions. You really can't go wrong with all of these ingredients combined! It's not the "best" poke nachos I've ever had, but it was very good and I'd definitely recommend it! They had a variety of other bar pub food items on their menu, including a few vegan items. Service was decent. The food came out fast and they checked on me at least twice. I didn't order any drinks but their menu seemed to have a good variety of beers, spirits and cocktails. It's definitely worth a stop! read more

During another hometown visit, this place did not disappoint. Our party of 4 arrived before they opened at 6pm on a Friday evening. There was another group already waiting when we got there. Many vegan options and to our surprise, that's exactly what we had ordered and we loved everything! Drinks ordered: Lychee vodka spritzer, Jameson Peach Snap, and a highball - all decent. Osoyami food: 1. Tofu - soft tofu served with a sauce that reminds me of cold ginger chicken sauce...soooo good! 2. Mushroom burger - homemade patty topped with grilled mushrooms, fresh onions, tomatoes, and lettuce. Not sure what type of bun. Quite tasty but next time I would try a meat burger. 3. Fries - regular cut fries and definitely went well with the burger. 4. Kim chee wonton - hot and crispy, topped with green onions and served with a soy-type of sauce. Hideyoshi food: 1. I'd never been but have wanted to visit for quite some time so I was more than down. They have their own parking lot. When we entered, the restaurant was quiet and not crowded (granted it was a weekday night). We were immediately seated and given the menu. I was shocked to see such affordable prices plus a vegan menu! Although we both aren't vegan, my friend raved about their vegan menu. She ended up ordering the Vegan Teriyaki Chicken Burger and we shared the Vegan Kimchi Potstickers. I don't eat beef or cheese and tend to stay away from burgers because of both of those things. My friend suggested that I try their vegan burgers which I hope to do so next time! Her burger looked savory, delicious, and satisfying! The potstickers were good but nothing noteworthy. It was crispy, bite-sized, and had a subtle kimchi flavor to it. The ambiance of the bar gave me a casual and laid-back feel to it. No offense to the other similar bars on Oahu, but Osoyami is seriously so SLEPT ON. I can't believe it's taken me this long to finally leave a review for them. If Oahu had a stamp card for bars you need to visit, I would put Osoyami as one of them. This place is my husband and I's favorite bar and I am excited to share about it with you and maybe we'll see you there! First, the area around Osoyami was so unassuming. If the "OPEN" sign wasn't lit I wouldn't have known if they were open or not. The first time we ever came here was for a trivia night a year or two ago. The parking was packed and it was hard to find a spot, so if you come during a peak time, be prepared to double park (which is fine), but I feel like that may be the only thing you don't like about this bar. By the way, there was a sign that said to let the bar know if you're double -parked so it seems like they try their best to help customers find parking in their lot which seems a lot safer than street parking in the surrounding area. When you walk in you'll notice all the seating and I'm guessing you can sit wherever you want. I forgot to mention that the most recent time around we came in at 7PM on a Sunday so there was no patrons in the bar except for F&F of the bartender. This place is great for groups, but most tables are for four people. Aside from drinks there's fighting arcade games, a bunch of TVs with different events being broadcasted, and three dart machines. Did I mention the fighting games are free? If you come early enough you could just go, go, go with your friends until the crowd shows up. I do hope they add more games though, just because one of the games were broken when we were there and the concept of free games really drew us in and made us want to stay (we could have but we were trying to hit up multiple bars that night). Okay, now let's talk about the food. There's two menus but you can order from both from the server for your table; our server was Hua and she was amazing and so personable. We love servers who love to talk to their customers! One menu is bar food and the other is restaurant food. My friend ordered a Donburi, truffle edamame, and spicy baby octopus. From the bar side we got garlic fries, garlic tots, and Dino nuggies - I'm a child I know. Everything tasted SOOOOO GOOD. The food really solidified Osoyami becoming our favorite bar. Osoyami is a hidden gem where you can get your bang for your buck. I absolutely love that they have their own parking lot, usually with enough spots to fit your entire party. They offer some really goods burgers. Their patty is a bit on the thinner side BUT take me up on this--their burger buns are FANTASTIC. Airy with a bit of crisp on the edges, ugh it was just so good. I personally really liked their mushroom Swiss burgers. Among their appetizers, I don't mind their Poke Nachos. It's great for the price, with crispy chips and the okonomiyaki sauce. The only thing is that their frozen ahi is very clearly frozen, it once came out slightly icy but with how good everything else was, it didn't mind too much. We so wanted to love this place. Wanted to HARD. A late night foodie joint that offers a mean vegan menu? Yes!! We lucked out and found parking in their tiny lot. It looks like there are stalls open till you start reading the signs. They're for different businesses, some which I did not see as they didn't seem to be in that parking lot. The music was loud. Like, really loud. And rock. Not pop rock like Sum 41, but more like screaming stuff from System of a Down. Which I generally don't mind, but not while I'm contemplating a great meal. Also the volume of the music meant everyone in there attempting to have a conversation with the people at their table were yelling to talk. It felt like mayhem but was really just a decent bar restaurant with the choice of music too loud. We didn't leave though as we were excited to try the food. They have their vegan menu desperate so it was easy to choose. We went with the edamame, Kim chee potstickers, volcano burger, and garlic fries. So excited! The food came out in decent time. The edamame landed first. We were hungry so we started mowing them down. They weren't steamed, or even pan fried, it seems like they were deep fried. Or at least some of them were as the entire thing was so crisp I could almost eat it like a potato chip. Tasty, but greasy. The potstickers came out next. Tasty, but greasy. Burger: looked amazing. Not bad. Garlic fries: tasty, but greasy. At the end of the meal we felt deaf and covered in grease. I've had this restaurant in my bookmarks for seven years and I finally came to use my gift card at Hideyoshi's sushi pop up. However, the sports bar itself did not disappoint. Imagine being able to get awesome and fresh sushi as well as nachos and french fries! What a dream! What's smart about the bar and having the sushi spot is that both of these restaurants can focus on what they do best but offer customers a varied experience. Osoyami has a small parking lot which is very helpful and every time I've been there, it's not had very many people. It's typically been a weekend around dinner time or a weekday around dinner time so I don't know what the crowd is like later. I've actually brought kids twice and they're OK with the underage crowd as long as they're out by 9 PM. I even had a large group gathering here to celebrate my friends sons 21st birthday. it was really fun and everyone enjoyed themselves. I've had the vegan burger, the nachos, edamame, tater tots, and ginger scallion l tofu. The surprise highlight was the ginger scallion tofu! It was terrific! There is definitely something for everyone on the menu and they have discounts until 7 PM. I think which is very generous for happy hour. read more

I used to go here often before but recently haven't been out much . Well , I went there to meet up with some friends , then I remembered that the sushi guy from my favorite sushi place before , Torae Torae was there . So I thought perfect , buy some sushi for me and my friends . Well I went in and the bartender said , sit anywhere you want . So I grabbed a table . Literally sat down , for 10-15 minutes and NOBODY came to the table. Kinda hard to believe , especially because there was 2 people throwing darts and one person at the bar .. hmm. Astonishing!! We just happened to come here on Trivia Night (every Wednesday at 7 pm!) and the entire place was completely packed! So if you're tryna go on a Wednesday night, you better be there right at 6 pm! Happy hour is from 6-7 pm. Giving 5 stars because even though every single table was filled - there was only ONE waitress serving everyone. Idk if they were missing servers or if it's always like that but she was working hard and we got our food at the perfect time. Probably need at least one other server though because we would want to order more but it was tough flagging her down. The food was still great pub food and the drinks were affordable and really good. The melona one- I swear I didn't taste any alcohol but tell me why I was tipsy from that drink?? It tasted just like a melona bar! I recommend that one. Ok also Trivia night was soo fun. I can tell why this place gets packed for Trivia. We were way too young to know some of the questions but it was still fun guessing lol. read more

Hole in the wall kinda bar. Poke nachos were good. Wonton chips were perfectly cooked, not oily, nice and crunchy and crisp. The poke by itself was mhmmmm. Garlic steak was so good, and I was so hungry I got two orders (shhh. Don't judge) only gave it 3 stars bc the parking is limited. Drinks are pretty strong here so make sure you carb up before you go here especially if you're a light weight like me read more
