1st time here and everything I ate was delicious, I got too excited and didn't take a lot of picture of the food! I love their sashimi, I also love their seafood shots. The service was excellent got what we ordered. The ambience was fun to hang out with friends, if you don't mind some great music that takes you back to high school days lol and they have free games, Which was awesome!

Omg their Mushroom Swiss Burger is to die for. Finally a place that makes it and makes it well!

Their mushroom Swiss burger is the best one on island, even some places that specializes in burgers - soft and slight sweet buns, melted Swiss cheese, multiple thin patties with crispy edges, the right amount of veggies, crunchy and fresh veggies, ahhhh so good! This chef knows how to cook! Thank you and please never change the way you make it!

We went here on Friday night. It was our first time. It was not crowded when we got there, but it was pretty full by the time that we left. We tried some happy hour food and their regular menu. We got the western cheeseburger and it was pretty good. Same as the devil eggs. The sushis were not bad. And fries and pepperoni were nice and crisp. Drinks were cheaper than most places. Parking is unlimited and street parking is tough to find in this neighborhood unless you park in King Street. We will come back.

literally best tequila shots of my life

This spot is Honolulu's hidden gem Came on a Saturday night and this place is literally amazing. The vibe is very friendly and casual with a full service bar and arcade games in the corner. All the burgers are like $12 which is unheard of in this economy. Well drinks are $4 (which I took full advantage of) and the owner Blaine was working that day and is the best and took shots with us. Let me say that the $4 well tequila is the smoothest best tequila I've ever had in my life. Like I cannot lie I have never had better. The burger was also amazing. The cocktails were bubbly and delicious and the lychee one slapped. I wish I lived in Hawaii so I could come here every weekend. Happy hour all day Sunday. Pretty insane spot.

Casual bar with friendly service and agreement with a neighboring restaurant for food. It reminded me of Cheers, island version.

first time here! havent really heard of this bar and its hidden behind some apartments. the area can be a little sketchy esp. whatever is nearby in the next building there is random people there. There is also 10? stalls in the front which fills up pretty fast. there was already a few cars in the lot before opening. Dont let the exterior fool you. inside is pretty clean. I also came here because hideyoshi is now here. you might be familiar with his food at torae torae. On tuesdays there is a handroll special for only $4 a roll which is a pretty great deal if you ask me. I really liked the negitoro one. The only thing was they charged me wrong (1 less) so the server forgot to give me back my credit card after the second transaction. I was notified a little while after i left that my card was still there, so i had to go back for it. When i did, the parking lot was already full and so was the inside. so if you do decide to come, its prob. better if you show up right at opening. only because it seemed like they had just 2 servers and probably just 1 sushi chef so the wait time might be long. The server was super apologetic tho, but im glad the bar isnt that far away from my house.

It was late in the night and very limited options... kept on seeing this place come up. Glad we finally stopped in this time around! Osoyami is a hidden jewel for Vegan eats! We have already been there twice this week and will definitely be back soon!!!

My friend and I were looking for a place to eat that's open late at night and I stumbled upon this place on Yelp. I'm vegetarian so I was happy to see online that they had a vegan menu. Parking was relatively easy to find past 9PM. They checked IDs since it was late which is understandable. The staff were friendly, it is a bar so it was noisy and they had some arcade games. I ordered the vegan pokechos and my friend (who is not vegetarian) tried the vegan teriyaki burger. Both were amazing. I've never seen poke placed on top of nachos but it's a concept that works so well at the same time. It had the right amount of sauce and the nachos were nice and crunchy. I'm not a drinker so I was just here for the food and it certainly did not disappoint. Even if you're just looking for a good place to eat, Osayami Bar and Grill is fantastic.

This ahi nachos were crazy good. I was passing by this restaurant randomly and found out it was amazing. They have karaoke and other games for customers. Very nice place. Highly recommended.

Ono bar food in McCully....... My good friend - da FAMOUS Auntie - Nadine C. had invited me for meal at this place called - "Izakaya Hideyoshi", but she told me that da Izakaya joint was inside a place called - Osoyami Bar & Grill. Small kine confusing, yeah? But don't let that deter you from coming here, as it's totally worth it my friend! Luckily she mentioned "Osoyami Bar & Grill", then I knew exactly where this place was, as it's just down the street from my office. I had passed by this bar for many years, but never stopped by this business to see what it was all about. Upon walking into Osoyami Bar & Grill, it's your typical bar environment - Large T.V.'s playing sports, a few Dart Machines, dark atmosphere, but clean environment with many booths. The menus for both Osoyami Bar & Grill and Izakaya Hideyoshi is on the booth tables, as you need to scan the QR codes to look at the menus. Although the Izakaya Hideyoshi menu looked good, I was mostly fascinated with da bar food at Osoyami Bar & Grill. I ordered the following items - 1. Chicken Wings w/garlic soy chili sauce to share with da gang. 2. Garlic Fries to share with da gang. 3. Fried Kimchi Potstickers to share with da gang. 4. And from da Vegan Menu - a Vegan Teriyaki Burger that had lettuce, tomato, onion, vegan cheddar cheese, pickles, ketchup, & mustard. What can I say about the grub? Although the pupus I ordered to share was F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S., da star of da show was that Vegan Teriyaki Burger!!! 8 years ago, you wouldn't catch Bruddah Fran eating a vegan burger, but times change, and I must say it was one of the BEST fake burgers I've ever eaten!!! The fake meat was so soft, great bun, and of course all the other crap that was loaded into that burger made it mouth watering ono!!! I inhaled that burger in no time, and shamefully did not offer a sample to my friends. Sorry........my bad! Lol! Service here was on point, as the staff here was friendly, and the waitresses brought out our food pretty quickly, and removed the empty baskets when we were done eating in a timely fashion. TIP - Osoyami Bar & Grill has a Happy Hour menu. The special $5 dollar items, as well as $3 drinks are daily only up till 7:00 PM (note, Osoyami opens up at 6:00 PM). On Sunday, the Happy Hour prices are all day long (as seen on the menu). Overall, Osoyami Bar & Grill exceeded my expectations! Much MAHALO Auntie for da invite & grub!

I LOVED this place!!! We found ourselves out in the beautiful Oahu waters until sunset almost every day so by the time we got back to the hotel and ready for dinner, many places were closing in Waikiki. This turned out to be actually a blessing because it made us go off the walkable strip and try some other really incredible businesses in the area. Osoyami has SO much to offer! You wouldn't know driving by this quiet street that it is a total vibe inside. We were greeted by a friendly face and a really fun energetic ambiance. There are TVs playing sports, free arcade and dart games, a full bar, and reaaaally good food. There were so many plant-based items it was exciting looking through the menu. We ended up getting the Osoyami Moscow Mule and Rogue Dead Guy Ale to drink - both great! For food we got the: Vegan Western Cheeseburger that reminded me in the best way of an elevated Burger King rodeo cheeseburger, hello childhood! Vegan Furious Burger which was spicy and a little messy - again, in the best way. Garlic tots (soooo good soooo garlicy) and basket of fries. If we weren't so tired we could've stayed a lot longer to enjoy more games n drinks. Really enjoyed this spot!

I just had to update my review as the last was with a besties girl's night and it was the perfect place to wind down your day....Mari T an awesome karaoke enthusiast suggested Osoyami as it's FREE on Monday and Tuesday from 8pm to 1am...FREE!! The group assembled Nadine, Ben, Mari and her friend (sorry I forgot her name) though I was called to work so arrived a bit late but made it my mission not to miss out on tonight and just as she does ordered a bunch of her favorites and look what we got!! Loaded Tots, Garlic Fries, Poke Nachos, Buffalo Fries, Pepperoni flatbread and Taquitos. A couple friends already ate and Nadine C had ordered their famous burger so it was me and Mari to chomp it all and I think we did pretty well lol!! Gosh so much yumminess put me in a food coma. I had invited a known karaoke looooooover friend who was definitely coming and was surprised not to see him only to realized later he was there but was sitting alone in the corner OMG! He apologized and realized he was much shyer than he though lol! Well we all need to take one step at a time and that alone is a huge and the song list btw is amazing along with Osoyami and their staff is just the place to sing your heart out! Thank you!

Osoyami Bar And Grill Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Osoyami Bar And Grill

Am I able to bring my kids?

We allow kids till 9pm. That's our usual cut off time for anyone under 21. We are unfortunately a bar, not a regular restaurant and liquor commission treats us as such

What time does the kitchen close?

    Same question!

Do you have to be 21 to enter and eat here?

Yes! They check ids at the door.

Is super smash still playable there?

    Yes!

Whar time does Happy Hour start? Are you open on Mondays?

Happy Hour is from 6pm-7pm. Osoyami is open on mondays, starting at 6pm.

    Can we call for reservations?

Yes, you can! I just did this week and it went smoothly.

    Are reservations required?

No, but I'd recommend doing so, especially now.

When is the vegan menu served? On a specific day only, or every day?

It's available every day. On Mondays, we try to offer something different/off menu or at least a discount on vegan items.

Is Osoyami back open after COVID closure?

Yesss!! But for now I think they only have their Noods menu and drinks.

Do they take table reservations for bigger groups?

    Can

    Is it 21 n over?

No way, I've seen kids there! Its a pretty family friendly place!

    Open in Christmas?

Possibly. May have private party; may be open to public.

The lot in front is small & street parking seems limited. any other parking suggestions?

The lot has 14 stalls but extra parking can be found very close by within a block or two around the neighborhood, 2 short blocks away along the Washington Intermediate fence, and also on King Street. Hope that helps.

I see the hours on Sunday have the opening at 6:30 am. Is that accurate? I'm trying to find a place to watch the east coast NFL games. What time are places allowed to serve beer on Sunday?

My advice for watching games will be buffalo wild wings, any location . All games covered and great crowd. Beer is served there from opening til closing. They open at 7 for football.

Is it okay to use the restricted gift certificate on regular me u and also order off the happy hour menu ? We have a child and was planning on coming in early on a Saturday.…

The promotional gift certificate from the radio promotion is only for regular priced items. You can't use it on Happy Hour. We also don't open till 6pm on Saturdays.

Do they have hd tv? Sports games?

The bar has 7 TVs and plays sports on some of them

Got gift certificate, wondering if can use it for happy hour?

If it's from the radio promotion "What a Deal Wednesdays", you cannot. If it's the regular gift certificate, yes.

When you come through the beach, you have the option of dining at the bar, which seems to be a totally different experience. The bar serves burgers and other bar foods, and we wanted something a little less casual. After entering through the bar, we ended up having to go to the desk inside. They added my name and took down my phone number to text when the table is ready. This place is huge. There is indoor seating with lots of grass "skirt" trim around some of the ceiling and bars, and the upholstery of the dining chairs are different colorful aloha prints. On the deck there are think torches and umbrellas and string lights. On the level just a few steps down are more umbrella tables and some musicians playing Hawaiian music. All around are photos of the famous Olympic champion, surgery, and actor Duke Kahanamoku. Much to my surprise, as I was looking around while waiting for a table, a girl asked if I was Denise. They didn't text me; rather, they jot down a brief description so they can just look around and find you. She sat us on the beach deck. Our server was fantastic, so friendly with lots of explanations and recommendations. They use an ordering system and it's fun like a week liked machine. Hubby's beer was delivered to our table before our server even walked away! We both ordered the teriyaki sirloin steak with mashed potatoes. It. Was. Freaking. Delicious. I was full, but couldn't stop eating because it was so good. Dukes is really a place where you know you are in Hawaii--the decor, the food, the music, the friendly service. A must order is the Duke's Mai Tai, their signature cocktail made with fresh Hawaiian juices & two types of rum. Surprisingly, they offer a breakfast, lunch, and dinner prime rib buffet. Located in a hotel called The Romer on Nāhua Street in Waikiki off of Kuhio (closer to Ala Wai Canal) it is a smallish unpretentious looking building on Diamond Head side of Nahua. They have valet stand in front and validate parking for up to 3 hours. The valet wasn't very friendly when we walked towards him and usually they hold the door open but this one did not. We realize he's probably not part of Lei Stand staff but it doesn't make a good first impression. Walk into the lobby and directly to your left is the Lei Stand. It is brightly neon but dark if that makes sense, and very small. If you're a fan of when it used to be on Bethel St downtown then you'll be disappointed with this venue. No view to be had, dark drapes cover the windows (we were there at 6:00 pm) and no cute little lanai or garden. Tiny tables either high tops or rounds - maybe 10 total and a small bar. There was one tiny corner booth. The lost star was for this set up but also another lost star for NO MUSIC. Music is such an important part of a place especially a bar so we were disappointed and appalled there was only silence. Bartender said the music was "broken" so we turned on our phones to get something on our table. Then two girls brought in something to light the place up with some tunes so that helped. The final lost star was it is called The Lei Stand yet there wasn't a lei stand inside the place. When we asked the bartender where it was he didn't even know what a lei was. Then we explained to him and he said it is in the hotel lobby but you have to go to front desk to let them know you wish to purchase one. Another disappointment. Thank goodness I bought her a lei from downtown in case they didn't have any. The good stars ... Star 1 goes to the drink menu and how delicious they tasted. "Rub up on my belly" was beautifully prepared and so delicious I had to have another one lol I mean how could I refuse a second guava jam infused Tito's vodka??? Bartender prepared with cute little garnish and an ice stick to keep it cold! He was very nice and took good care of us. My friend opted for the "Clifton's Curse" - yes there's a back story to this drink- and enjoyed the cognac, absinthe, bitters and sherry concoction! Ono! Star 2 goes to the food or "nibbles" as they call it. Taro chips and crack dip were yum and a nice handful of chips not too much and not too little. Hurricane fries - to die for! Plenty of furikake, parmigiano reggiano and spicy aioli. The girls who brought our food were very nice and made sure we had what we needed to enjoy, bringing us waters too. They also had a smash burger for $25 but we had dinner rez later so didn't want to indulge but it looked good. It might be cute if you wanted to do a private party here and I noticed a room across with a beautiful large table set up for a private dinner - not sure if part of hotel or bar.

He has been a fan of Johnny Valentine and said he was playing at the Mai Tai Bar in the Royal Hawaiian. The Bar is located in the back patio area that faces the beach. Arriving at 6:30pm, there was a line to be seated and when we were seated, we were at a nice table facing the beach, but we were on the opposite side where the stage Johnny was performing. Also, we were next to the bar and it was quite noisy. After ordering our drinks, which I got the Royal Sunset Ale, we spotted a table near the stage and asked our waitress if we could move there. She checked and said we could move there. It was a nice center table about 20ft from the stage and we could hear Johnny perform without the bar noise. Johnny is Hawaii's premier entertainer, who is Bruno Mars' uncle, is known for his vocal range and guitar skills. He performed Hawaiian songs and had a hula dancer on stage with him and he covered popular songs. He also came by our table during an intermission and graciously took pictures with us. Do access their website, as there is a great backstory regarding how this beautiful property came to be. Spoiler alert: make reservations, request a table with an umbrella by the surf, order one of their famous Mai Tai cocktails, and enjoy their elevated cuisine, service, and entertainment. We arrived and were greeted by staff and directed to the dining area. Our request for a table by the beach was honored, and we were just far enough away from the (wonderful) entertainment that we could thoroughly enjoy it and carry on a conversation. I noticed that their Caesar salad had anchovies draped across the lettuce! Our wonderful professional server, Melissa, gave us a heads-up that the Apps were huge and easily shared. Our split salad arrived, and yes, sharing is the way to go. For our entrees, I ordered the swordfish, and Plus 1 ordered the sticky ribs appetizer for dinner. Swordfish is a tricky one to grill; one extra minute, and the fish turns to chewing gum. My dinner was cooked perfectly, firm and moist. We could have easily shared the sticky rib App. These ribs were tender as all heck and spiced to perfection. Since we were celebrating a special event, we were gifted with their famous Halekulani's Signature Coconut Cake. Wow, Light as a feather and oh so decadent! An adjoining table ordered a pizza, yes, a pizza for dinner. I must say the pizza looked awesome. This was a thin-crust gourmet pizza with some interesting meat and cheese toppings. I am a pizza snob times 10, and I would return just to order that pizza. Pro tip: You will be dining outside, so those pesky birds will be keeping a close eye on any food that you drop. Do not leave your table unguarded, or you will be feeding them (LOL). Enjoy all y'all!
