Everything was very clean. Parking was a bit of a struggle - there was street parking above, below, and across, and a huge lot in the back. Supposedly there's a backdoor from the lower lot - those who tried found it to be locked. The food was delicious - my local burger was cooked medium, and the fries were little circles! They were well cooked but some had much more salt then others

The menu looked pretty good so we started with some apps. Beer cheese- definitely a different twist than I expected but it was great. Very flavorful, really beer forward. The bruschetta was ridiculously amazing!! The cucumber salsa was missing something but ok, needed some acid or heat. My disappointment started when they brought out our meal, (we still had two apps to go, I hate my meal coming out with or before the rest of our apps. I had the hot honey chicken and NE Clam chowder. The chowder was brown and was not what I was looking for, I packaged up to go. It was primarily the brown I assume the roux went farther than it should have or there is something else in it.. The hot honey chicken was ok, the chicken was paper thin , tasted mostly arugula no heat, no sweet... I'd switch out the bread for a roll next time and douse it with hot sauce. The cottage fries are out of this world and I would come back for beverages and those!! My partner had the biria sandwich which was fire, also had a salad which was really good as well. The cookies are really amazing! Actual Dessert- I am struggling with we opted for the Chocolate cake which was literally melting- did not think it was ice cream so not sure why we had a puddle in a box when we got home. I want to try other things, as we had some good and some not so good, so we'll be back and update again after another try.

It was founded by brothers Michael and David Ieronimo and their partners Christopher Urban and Kyle Ondrush. The two brothers started out as homebrewers in their mother's kitchen in the late 1980s. By 2004, David's brother-in-law Christopher and Michael's co-worker Kyle had also come into the fold. The four formed a homebrew club and brewed together out of a garage. The homebrew club evolved into a homebrewing obsession and the next logical step was starting their own brewery. They chose the name "Brass Works" as a reference to "The Brass City": the official nickname of the city of Waterbury. Kyle retired from the brewery in 2021, but the other three partners still continue to share their passion for good beer. I first visited Brass Works in June 2016. I was driving around the state visiting some breweries that were new to me. The interior of the taproom was really nice; lots of neat decorations. During my stay, I ordered a sampler flight of five beers which included: "Wee Windy English Bitter Ale", "Sweaty Sisters Blonde Ale", "Abel Porter", "Uncle Zac's Stout", and "Double Bird IPA". The latter was my favorite of the bunch; great notes of Amarillo hops! I ended up purchasing a growler of that one to bring home. Keep up the good work gentlemen!

i had hoped i would never have to put a review like this on yelp. Im so damned embarrassed for them…read more& Ive gotta say i dont see how this place is ever going to make it if they keep on focusing on construction upgrades which they are constantly in the process of doing. looks not content. my dad who is my foodie buddy had loved this place since it opened. weve been regulars. i woildve taken him ANYWHERE in Ct to make him happy for this milestone birthday gone completely sideways. if i had asked them & told them i would pay them to take their heads out of their asses, it would not have happened. because they simply dont get it. i am hoping that this poor beautiful server who had the misfortune of me as a customer & no backup from ANYONE, most especially the bartender who was serving her ONE customer & talking about nails, will move on to a place shere she will learn something. seriously. this poor girl. my dad was one of the first customers here, & he's very loyal to businesses & responds to good service which we did have when they first opened. the ONE guy that was good at his job w a personality has not been seen in quite awhile, so ive gotta believe he's moved onto bigger & better things. our entrance up the front stairs shouldve been a glimpse 0f what was to come, & this is the clientele they are are appealing to with their HSN fake IVY covered fences. our entrance up the stairs and throughout the dining experience was met w a million cameltoes & fat laden tatooed muffintops hanging over belts & waistlines. sorry but i cant even stomache that over a backyard family barbeque. CLIENTELLE. they are not tippers. why would ANYONE want to work here? an entire table next to us jumped up like there was an AR 15 in tow because of a BUG ON THE WINDOW. we were ready to duck & roll. we waited and waited and waited on simple things. water. chips for the quac. the things that were listed on the menu that they didnt have. loke the things that bring people in: like the "homemade" pudding they didnt have. like the ham croquettes app they didnt have. we ordered the fire cheese app. the person who delivered it tried lighting it & it wouldnt light & they never came back to ignite it & the server who was waiting on us didnt know because teamwork & managerial leadership was nonexistant. no prescence of ANY manager or any one in charge. that bartender was a disaster. the two espresso martinis tasted like old coffee water w a shot of Baileys. awful. they shouldve paid us to be there. when a bartender has ONE customer & theyre talking sbout nails & their servers are depending on them for the entireity of the meal service these servers are screwed. i hope the servers wake up & go somewhere where theyll learn something like Brass City Cafe on Hamilton Ave to get a good meal & great service. so few places left in Waterbury. you wont see this clientelle @ Brass City or Diorios. theyd hide them away. no matter how much home improvement they do & ill admit great potential here. but i give it 8-10 months. not to mention the miserable experience they gave to one of their very first loyal customers who had a milestone 90th birthday. i cant tell you you how many times weve made resv's here explaining the event . & they act like its a damn surprise when we show up. awful. just awful. and hopeless. never again. felt bad for my daughter who was paying for it & my dad who just wanted to enjoy his 90th birthday at a place he once loved.

A new spot in the Watertown night scene, several friends suggested it would be the kind of place I…read morewould enjoy, considering my jazz background. I found myself with a hole in my social calendar one Thursday night the second week they were open, and decided to see what the buzz was all about. Their website and facebook page suggested to "dress to impress", so I dug out one of my bespoke Italian suits and found the perfect silk tie to match (lots of orange, because it was nearly Halloween) and hopped in the car to arrive early enough for the first show (they have two shows per night, 7pm and 9pm, both roughly 90 minutes). Picturing a bar-full of women in swanky gowns and men attired similarly to me, I was disappointed in finding out that substituting heels for sneakers with jeans was the norm for women, and throwing on a blazer over jeans was the standard for men. This is more a reflection of the area, than the business, and there were some couples who took this suggestion seriously, with some people dressed to the nines. The inside is gorgeous, with the lounge area filled with comfortable-looking seating areas, and a couple of tables for diners (not a lot of those, however). Paintings of legendary singers lined the walls. The bar area is sparsely decorated, and a bit too starkly lit for my taste, picturing the smoky jazz joints of my misspent youth. Lots of stools, and a beautiful stone bar top completed the look. I found a seat at the bar, and ordered a martini. No Stolichnaya available (except for raspberry) so I settled for Grey Goose instead. It was perfectly mixed, and I awaited for the piano show to begin. As they were new and starting to fill their entertainment ranks, that night they had a pianist who was auditioning. He was acceptable, with a decent voice, but lacked a lot of the spark of other performers I've seen. I have to go back another night to hear some of their other performers they have lined up. There's a menu of small plates that will fit nicely with cocktails, which is the main attraction there, with a list of seasonal offerings. Since I had already eaten, I didn't order any food, but what I saw presented to others looked good. Something for my next trip. All in all, this is someplace I will probably frequent, since it's close by, and in time, I'm sure the concept will catch on and become very popular. I'd suggest giving 88Keys a try for a special date night, or someplace to go if you're looking for a different vibe than the other entertainment venues in the area.
