I've tried a handful of items when I've frequented this go to spot in the Naugy area. I haven't come across a sub par meal nor service issue anytime I've been here. I'm sure they've had a hiccup or two here and there like any restaurant will have from time to time but luckily i haven't been here while that's happened. If you catch it at the right time while you're here, the train passes right alongside the restaurant. It's pretty cool where the train is so close you feel you can reach right out and touch it if there was an open window. Don't try this at home kids. Hajahajahajahajahaja. The restaurant is tastefully decorated. There's plenty of parking in a good sized lot. There located right off of route 8 with very easy access on and off in either direction. We've been to this restaurant 3 times. The first time we went, I ordered fried clams (whole bellies). I was a little disappointed as the clam bellies were small. But, ok...service was good, it wasn't too terribly expensive and it is a nice place. The second time we went, I ordered a fried seafood dish. It was shrimp scallops, clams (whole bellies) and fish (I think). It was good. I was pleased with the quality. This last time (today), there were no whole belly clams on the menu. I was disappointed. But hey, you can't have everything, right? I order broiled scallops. My spouse had lamb. My spouse enjoyed the lamb, but my scallops were not real scallops...they must have been skate or shark or maybe some molded fish. Tasteless. Could be cost cutting. A sign of the times. I'm honestly baffled by how The Station is still advertising its posted hours, because they certainly aren't honoring them. I've tried to eat here four separate times now. Not once... four times. And three of those times, the front door was locked a full hour before closing. No sign, no explanation, just locked. Tonight was the last straw: I showed up one hour and fifteen minutes before closing, and instead of being seated, I was told I could only sit at the bar. Period. No tables, no flexibility, nothing. If this restaurant doesn't want guests coming anywhere near closing time, then please: update your hours or put up a sign saying "We close whenever we feel like it." At least that would be honest. What's worse is how unwelcoming it feels. I genuinely wanted to support this place, I've given it multiple chances...but being repeatedly turned away well before posted closing time is unacceptable and absolutely misleading to customers. If management actually cares about the guest experience (which at this point is questionable), I would appreciate someone reaching out to address why this keeps happening and what the real policies are. Because right now, The Station feels less like a neighborhood restaurant and more like a place that can't be bothered to serve the people trying to walk through its doors. read more

First time customer. They have amazing service. They are almost to fast. Wife put down her fork and they hand a take home container on the table in seconds. The food is good, not on the caliber of the service. I got the ribeye. Perfect med rare. The flavor was ok at best and it was very chewy. It was just very odd. We stopped in for lunch and had an amazing experience. The building itself is a transformed train station; what a wonderful job with excellent decor. The building is sectioned off into 3 different parts-1. Takeout, 2. Bar area, 3. Dining area. We were in the dining area for lunch. What an excellent lunch. We started off with the cod croquettes, which were absolutely delicious. The croquettes were silky smooth and served with some sort of corn chimichurri mix. So good! For lunch I had the steak grinder with sweet potato fries and my girlfriend had the chorizo. Both our meals were excellent. We went for Father's Day lunch and overall I was not impressed. The food was okay but nothing to write home about. My daughter ordered the fish and chips and said the one at Big y has way more flavor (plus it's half the price). I don't know if the server was having a rough day but the service was not good. When we asked what are some of the popular dishes on the menu she looked at my husband as if he had 10 heads. To be honest, I've had better service at Golden Corral or a diner. We were there celebrating a graduation. I have never been there before and I will never go back again. There were 11 adults. We ordered the following, Parmesan Chicken, T-bone steak, Chicken Francese, Baked Salmon, 3- RibEye Steaks, Steak on a stone, Sirloin Steak, 2 orders of Lamb Chops, The only dish that was palatable was the Salmon. Sad to say even the sides were awful. There wasn't one drop of flavor on any of these dishes. I had the Chicken Francese it was thick and dredged in flour then egg then flour again. Salt and pepper and a whole lemon didn't help it. It was totally disguisting. All the other dishes were the same no taste what so ever. We all were really disappointed and needless to say will never ever go back there again. Service was okay they weren't as attentive as I thought they should have been. Ambiance was good in the afternoon. All in all for $800.00 we paid not one penny was worth it. I'm so sorry this happened on such a special day for us but you live and learn. read more

This is a pretty cool restaurant inside of an old train station! The service was good and the waiters were very friendly and willing to answer all of our questions. I got a hot lobster roll with fries and the orange butter on the side that i spilled over my plate was lobster ghee (butter infused with lobster drippings) which made my fries extra delicious! For dessert i got the chocolate lava cake and a friend got another type of chocolate cake and it was probably one of the best lava cakes I've had. Perfect gooey inside, chocolatey but not too overwhelmingly sweet, and the ice cream that complemented it was delicious. Very pretty interior design! We were seated promptly with a table of 12. Drinks were good and came quickly. Service overall was very slow though- food and to get the check! Went on a Saturday night just after 6pm and was able to get right in with my wife. A bit loud inside with the many people seated. Waitress was nice. Had the calamari appetizer which was good, very tender. Salt shaker was missing from our table and had to ask for one. My wife had a steak and thought it was pretty good. During the meal we kept getting whiffs of cigarette smoke. I think someone on the waitstaff walking by smelled of it. Not pleasant when trying to eat. The main issue I had was that the baked cod I ordered was spoiled. It arrived looking a little milky, not like any baked fish I ever ordered. I tried a few bites of it and kept getting a taste of ammonia, which is indicative of fish that has gone bad. I told the waitress when she came to clear the table and she looked confused when I told her how it tasted. They took $13 off the bill, which was half the cost of my entree. That's fine I guess since I ate the rice and vegetables so I wouldn't leave hungry. Not sure what is going on in the back and how their fish is being stored, but it should be looked into so other's don't get sick. I was lucky and didn't experience any food poisoning symptoms from the fish I tried. Small glass of soda was $4.50 with no free refill. Overall, not a good experience. read more

Upon our arrival, the location is tastefully situated along the rt 8 train track corridor in Naugatuck. The interior is clean and trendy. They transformed an old train station into a high end Mediterranean styled hot spot with something for everyone. Our hosts name was Elvis. Fairly attentive, his wine decorum was a bit on the relaxed side but I'll still give him a pass. The wine list itself was very diverse. I love reds and they have a good selections of blends and others were vast. The appetizers, I ordered the Portuguese shrimp. The spice factor was perfect. The only thing I'd probably rethink about this is to TAKE THE SHELLS OFF the steaming hot shrimp in the kitchen! I had to peel my own shrimp at the table. Normally I don't mind but, The sauce got everywhere. I'd like to say that the shrimp were finger lickin good, but I would've rather not had to lick my fingers clean today. My uncle had the stuffed mushrooms. He stated that they were delisiouso! The main course came out super fast. Which is definitely a plus, considering there were only 3 occupied tables in the main dining room. My veal was prepared to my exact specifications. It was tender for the most part. The rest of my party ordered fried seafood. Enough said. Lol Back to the wine, the Ricasoli Toscana 2017 was bomb.com The dessert menu was pretty lame. Nothing really stands out. My friend and I went to the station on a Tuesday night. It was surprisingly not too busy and we were promptly seated. The atmosphere of The Station was very inviting. It was spacious and not too loud, a great place to talk and have a meal. For an appetizer, we both ordered French onion soup which was absolutely amazing. The soup was packed with flavor and cheesy goodness. Right up my alley! For an entree, I ordered penne alla vodka with chicken. I do wish there was more flavor in my pasta, along with more sauce but it was still good! My friend had similar comments about her chicken scarpiello and wished there was more flavor.
