Amish Country at its best!…read more This is a gem of a restaurant. We found this place thanks to the great reviews on Yelp. We were not familiar with Baltic, Ohio, yet we were so happy we found this place. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, it felt like we were eating in someone's home. Christian, the manager, could have not done anything more to accommodate us. He really went out of his way to enhance our experience. Our waitress, Arlene, had told us she had been there for several years and you could really tell this by her ability to help us through the menu. She wanted to make sure we were completely satisfied. The menu was one like I had never seen before. Everything from a large breakfast selection to Wagyu and Prime steaks. I had the best Ruben sandwich I had ever eaten ( that is saying a lot). We also shared the Wagyu filet with hand cut fries and sweet potato fries. The steak was sautéed with fresh mushrooms and onions. The steak was seasoned to absolute perfection. You have to try this. I have posted pictures of the menu. Don't forget a side order of homemade mac & cheese. Their prices are extremely reasonable considering the quality of the food and the impeccable service. The decor is perfect. Simple yet very pretty. They even have a nice area (living room style) that we hung out in until our table was ready. This Amish restaurant is the "best of the best". I will be back in this area next year and will be sure to make this my go to restaurant. Bravo to the staff and chef, well done.

Pork chop was cooked alright, but definitely needed a sauce to add some flavor as it was bland. Coconut mango rice was sad (my wife is filipino so she knows a bit about rice, mangoes, and coconut). I had the reuben and it was alright. I don't understand why all the steaks and fish are "market price" on the menu. This is not a fancier restaurant that serves wagyu, why can you not figure out how to price half of your meats? Service = Good with no problems. Restaurant = Stylish, Spacious, and Clean.

My experience here was terrible, in my opinion. I brought my parents and one of my daughters. I'll…read moreadmit they were more forgiving than I am here. We arrived around noon on a Friday. All tables were full. There is nothing that is worse in service than making people not feel welcome when you walk into an establishment. I don't need much. A hello, an acknowledgement, a welcome, sorry we'll be with you shortly....None of that. We stood awkwardly at the front of the restaurant half inside the doorway behind another family. The other family nor our family were not acknowledge for about 15 minutes. I tried to make eye contact and kind of nod at some of the wait staff and people behind the counter to make sure they understood we would like a table, but they flat-out ignored us. As if we didn't exist and they didn't want us there. It was kind of sad, really. The other family that was waiting eventually left after a while of realizing we may not be seated and we were not welcome. After about those 15 minutes, three tables of people finished at the same time. The waitress came over and said we could sit in a booth wherever. Yes, kind of like that. Sit wherever. It was clear they didn't want us there. We were inconveniencing them. Getting our waters and ordering our food was fairly straightforward, but the same vibes: not friendly nor welcoming. We waited longer at the table than I would've expected for waters and ordering, considering we'd now spent 30 min in the building and had hardly been acknowledged, but she did take our order. It was after 11am, so no breakfast options. Hmm, okay I get it I guess. That's fairly common for a diner. My only option as a vegetarian is a grilled cheese and french fries (pictured, after eating half the sandwich, about 12 french fries were included). It tasted good, but it was tiny. It was a kids'-sized portion. I was unsure of how a grown man was supposed to call this a meal. It was cheap enough, but I would've paid a couple more bucks for a larger portion, maybe a full side of french fries? All else was fine. The mood/vibe never changed. We weren't checked on, until we waved her over for more water and our bill. We paid our bill at the counter. I don't think I have high expectations. I just want them to...be okay with us being there? Provide service? (I always leave a tip, but I'm not sure what I was tipping for...) It's no excuse, but maybe they thought we were out of towners? I've lived here for 15 years, but it was definitely giving "you're not our people" type of vibes.

I had a fried bologna sandwich with onions and pickles, which was great. The only reason I don't give them five stars is it took 45 minutes sitting at the counter to get my sandwich. I still decided to utilize their walk up window simply because I had a car full of dogs and I didn't want them to miss me. The window is pretty easy. It does have an awning, but it doesn't really work very well when it's raining cause it's a little narrow and width. However, the barista prioritized me standing in the rain and quickly took my order I told her I was gonna go back and wait in the car because I had a car full of dogs. When my coffee was ready, she noticed that I was getting attention to my dogs and she decided to hand-deliver my coffee to my car. It's a little things like that that make a difference to somebody's day. Whoever does a hiring at this location has a talent for picking the best people. Where my two stars come from is the area is very cute and the staff was friendly and service was quick. That is unfortunately where the good ends. My drink was, and I don't say this lightly, terrible. To the point I threw it away after 3 sips. It was extremely watery, overly artificially sweet and wholly unpleasant. I'm not sure if it was made wrong or what (did not have the faintest coffee taste), however paying $7 for a small beverage without any cold foams or things to make it fancy, I'd at least expect it to be tasty. Very disappointing and won't be back.
