And here I am back again! Four months later and worth the wait and the drive!!! These ladies and all of the truck drivers who call them family know what family does best - cook good food and eat like kings! So good on so many levels you have got to come to Winfield!!!!!

The food and the service was amazing. The peach cobbler is the best in the brownies I love it

Very unassuming spot. Fed six people for $38. How is that possible? The pancakes were soooo delicious and had a little crunch to them as well. Food isn't too spicy or salty and actually has great seasoning. I'm pretty sure their ranch is homemade and it's better than the stuff Jimmy Johns cranks out. Chicken tenders are homemade and definitely fresh. Kids loved everything. Junk Yard dog is what my oldest son got and he loved it. Patty melt was simple but done right. All grilled onions and beef and buttered toast. We are weary from traveling but this place hit the spot. There were out of a few items but we were pleased overall! There isn't a sign outside on the highway side so you know it's there but just go on inside the gas station and your nose will lead you to it!

One star is generous. Ignore all reviews. They have to be fake. This place is gross. The chicken tenders were so old and dry I couldn't eat them without a guzzle of soda to wash down each bite. They did a great job opening a can of green beans. No seasoning. No flavor. And the meal deal came with a stale roll. We ordered a ham and cheese omelette. It arrived dripping in scorched oil and bits of overly salty ham. It was topped with an off brand slice of Kraft cheese product. Every single item was gross. And I don't know how much the chicken tenders were but this delightful meal from Hades cost us over 17 dollars. Please don't go here. You will regret it.

Hidden gem with Huge helping of Southern Hospitality for ALL customers! Best home cooked meal in a long time! Cheesy Comfort food Chicken spaghetti, Thick Salisbury steak with brown gravy and mashed potatoes were amazing! But the green beans (sigh) . . . Extreme seasoning and never tasted Green Beans this good! Jalapeño corn bread would be pictured but I ate it all! Husband got "real" Ham (hand carved/cut by chef) and cheese omelette with thick, buttery, hot southern grits! Clean, bright, happy atmosphere! Did I mention staff was phenomenal! This is one of our favorites and we will definitely be coming back! God bless ALL of you and stay safe!

Good breakfast. $5.99 for a Big Bowl of grits, 2 eggs, Bacon, biscuits & gravy. Hot & good. Clean, staff pleasant & efficient. They have plate lunches too. Tables & area for eating. Coffee hot water spouts don't work.

Its inside the Texaco - this is the back entrance.

Restaurant Review: A Second Chance Squandered at Grill 22, Guin, Alabama…read more Each year, my family and I make the journey from Florida to visit relatives in the quiet town of Guin, Alabama. With that tradition comes a recurring hope: to enjoy a satisfying meal rooted in Southern hospitality. Unfortunately, our recent visit to Grill 22 proved once again that not all second chances are worth taking. After a deeply disappointing experience in the past, the restaurant's management had extended an invitation for us to return and give them an opportunity to make things right. Regrettably, that gesture of goodwill was not matched by the quality of the food. If anything, this visit confirmed that Grill 22 remains one of the most underwhelming dining experiences I've had in recent memory. Let's start with the nachos -- or more accurately, a scattered pile of Doritos topped with lukewarm processed cheese, a smattering of black beans, and aggressively salty pickled onions. Calling it an appetizer would be generous; calling it edible would be dishonest. The chicken wings, which could more aptly be described as emaciated pigeons and arrived dry and sinewy -- hardly the juicy, flavorful bar staple one might expect. My wife's choice, the so-called "margarita flatbread," was equally baffling. It bore little resemblance to the classic Margherita flavors. Instead, we were served a sweetened tomato-and-cheese concoction on dough that tasted more like a school cafeteria experiment gone wrong. But perhaps the most egregious offense was the ridiculous pricing. Grill 22 demands a premium price point for what can only be described as gas station-grade food. The ingredients, preparation, and execution fall so far below acceptable standards that it feels insulting to be charged full-service restaurant rates. To be clear, this isn't a case of a kitchen having an off night. This is a systemic failure in culinary judgment and quality control. It's deeply frustrating -- not only because of the wasted time and money, but because no guest, local or visiting, deserves to be served food of this caliber. In a region known for warmth and hearty, soulful meals, Grill 22 is a stark outlier. If you're passing through Guin and find yourself hungry, I'd strongly suggest you take a detour -- even a fast food drive-thru would deliver a better, and more honest, experience.
