The young waitress's are running around busting there ass to get stuff done, while the older workers just sit there and talk. Their regulars seem to have much better food and service. Looked like about 5 desserts to pick from. Nice folks running the place. Very attentive. It's nothing fancy, but it's really a decent home style meal. Served on a plastic plate with stamped metal utensils... I would claim that this is in the top ranks of meat a vegetable places I have ever tried. The service was good and the food was pretty typical. I ordered my ribeye medium rare but it was so thin it was done all the way. It tasted good but was very thin. The baked potato was normal. Their catfish is delicious. Their Gulf Shrimp is amazing. The best part are the options. You can order your seafood grilled or fried. So yummy! I love the hush puppies too. What else can I say except amazing seafood! The grilled shrimp with the lemon and black pepper seasoning is super good (very tasty). There is also a bed of rice and beans that comes with the shrimp that tastes delicious. I highly recommend the sweet potato fries which have a delicious powered sugar and honey drizzle on top (tastes similar to a potato based funnel cake). They also have chicken and steak options plus a salad bar if seafood isn't your cup of tea. I've worked for Cedar Landing twice now. The first time I never had an issue and enjoyed my employment there. Recently, while employed, a coworker of mine began presenting some alarming behaviors. I was groped without consent, harassed, and the coworker was using hard drugs on the property. All of which I have evidence of. I went to my boss to discuss the matter. I get a phone call later, and her exact words were "leave him the f alone" and she hung up on me. I later called back and said that I was coming to her as an employee in regards to sexual harassment and unsafe working conditions. Her and her assistant basically said that it sounded like all I was doing was making fun of said coworker, and that she didn't want the drama, that what he did was his business. Honestly, it was alarming that 1) she would allow such behavior from an employee, and 2) that she had blatant disregard that illicit drugs were not only on the premises, but being used as well. In return, I had to contact local authorities to have the issue handled. State law requires a safe work environment, and she completely disregarded my claims. Again, local authorities are involved with the coworker, and I have filed a claim with EEOC as well as BBB. Be careful if you apply for this job. It's apparent that she condones this behavior as well as complete disregard for her establishment by not only allowing sexual harassment to take place, but also to have illicit drugs being used and brought onto the property. Again, I have photo evidence, call recordings, call logs, and text messages to back everything that took place. I wish them nothing but the best, it's unfortunate she chose to not resolve this, but as an employee I have a right to report unsafe working conditions and harassment. I wish it wouldn't have come to this, and I'll do everything in my power to have this resolved legally. read more

The sweet potatoe again the best I ever put in my mouth and I love love love sweet potatoes. He was like it was already sweetened. It needed zero sugar. Came w rolls and hush puppy. Stopped thru on work travel and ordered take out to take to my hotel. The atmosphere is very "rustic" but seemed cozy enough, the staff seemed a little stressed with a lot of customers but were extremely friendly and courteous. The food was excellent! I ordered the Cajun catfish and it was absolutely delicious. The hush puppies were also something to remember! My husband and I stopped here on our way home from Destin. We are not fans of fast food and prefer a local place. This was a gem of a find! Amazing! In the middle of no where I never expected good food. Honestly, it's usually fried, greasy spoons and I am always disappointed. Cedar Landing gives me hope! The fried crab claws were as good as any I have had at any seafood restaurant and the crab cakes shocked me with their fresh wonderfulness. Onion rings were large, hand battered perfection. Excellent stop on our way to GA. Grilled Tiliapia was thick and tender with the right amount of blackened seasoning. She said Cedar Landing and I thought she said Sater Landing so I said "What?" three times and than she handed us a menu and it was clearer to me than. Here I thought I found the gem of a picture opportunity in the front when we walked in where they have a signed picture of vanilla ice right inside the front door , but I see somebody else already commenting on the picture in another review. I ordered the grilled chicken with turnip greens and the salad bar. One thing that bothered me was your trip to the salad bar was limited to one time in order to keep costs down. It was iceberg lettuce...really? The ms. got the Fried green tomato BLT with sweet potato fries. She thoroughly enjoyed hers. My meal was mediocre at best. Meals were only 20.00 so that was good. Came by here with my family. I ordered the filet mignon and what was brought to my table had the appearance of rump roast and it was soaked in some type of steak sauce (which I am allergic to - broke out in hives) and was also topped by a bunch of mushrooms that I did not order. I order filets because they should be tender and easy to chew. I couldn't chew this carcass that was on my plate. A few of what I am assuming to be regulars came in after I got my food and ordered the filet as well. Their steak looked like a completely different piece of meat. I'm not sure what's worse, the fact that they gave me rump roast instead of a filet, or that they thought I was too stupid to know the difference. I can't say enough bad about this place! Unless you know the owners, which everyone else seemed to do, your service and food sucked! Only thing going for them is they do seem to treat locals well. I was here off and on for about 6 weeks, tried the place 3-4 times. No change. Poor young girls ran their tush off while the older waitresses and owner sat and shot the breeze with friends. They ran out of salad bar one night I was there, only able to get a couple of things. Talked to the waitress who said she wouldn't charge me, i instead ordered an entree. When I got the bill, the salad bar was on there as well. I asked and was told that since I got "something" I had to be charged the full price. (Seriously there was NO lettuce and they were not restocking cause it was 30 min before closing). Over the month, I had a burnt sandwich, raw chicken and over cooked catfish.
