I've been coming to northwest grind for years, starting when I was working at Buckle! All my coworkers and I would drop by and get energized on coffee and snacks! Awesome coffee, delicious snack options, and quick service. I very much like their spiced chai and their burrito choices. The owner was so nice, cordial, and professional. While shopping at the mall I thought I'd try out this coffee shop. I got a simple drink - double shot white chocolate americano which was under $5! It was great! Not overly sweet and the service was friendly. They were also cleaning the store mid-day which was nice to see (versus other places where staff usually scrolls on their phone during down time). Super cute coffee shop in Capitol Mall ! I will be visiting here quite a bit this month as I was just hired for a seasonal job in this mall. This is smaller mall and the food/drink options are somewhat limited here.. After walking the entire mall and seeing what they're currently offering, I'd say Northwest Grind would probably be your best bet aside from Stack 571 which is the restaurant near their movie theater. I love the overall look and variety here. I got a cinnamon roll which was just as good if not better than Cinnabon's roll and an iced green tea but there's plenty of other items like breakfast sandwiches, charcuterie and a buffalo chicken sammich that I'd really like to try next time I'm around! They also sell CBD gummies at the register which is pretty cool ! Give them a go if you're at the Capitol Mall and in the mood for something that's not Panda Express or Charley's Subs. read more

Atmosphere was great. Service was great. A bit pricey but the quality makes up for it.

What a fun vibe this place has. Haven't been here since they first opened but returned because my sister liked their nitro whatever it was drink. Came back and they are dressed up for Halloween with specialty drinks. One has a pile of French toast sticks piled in it, another is an apple cider with a cider donut on top, and another has a freaking mini pumpkin pie on top. Just recently tried this shop out, and i'm surprised I have yet to go to this one. I'm on a mission to try every restaurant and coffee shop in Olympia/Lacey/Tumwater. This lil spot in the mall is super dope. Cozy lil spot off in the corner near Pandora. Coffee was great and the breakfast english muffin was good. Service was very friendly and speedy. Neighborhood gem that's located inside the Capital Mall. They have the best uniquely made craft coffees. Try French Toast Latte and Banana Bread Latte. You will be blown away. Also, their coffees are very consistent with temperature and flavor, not many coffeeshops actually can do that. Also, I find that some coffeeshops do better job with hot coffees and some only do great with iced coffees. They've mastered both and that's why I get both hot and cold coffees here. : ) Solid coffeeshop. Lots of great treats and hot breakfast options and even though they're in the mall, they open very early and accessible from exterior of the mall. read more

The people who work here are super personable and kind! I love getting to chat with them when they aren't busy. Their prices are similar to other local businesses and they offer SO MANY goodies. They have good on the go food, pastries, and little bites. We've come here in the past and tried the waffle sandwich. It was delicious! You can't sit in here because it is just a drive/walk through coffee shop and it's still super cute and quaint. The placement of it by Ross and Joann's is so funny. It looks like a little house placed randomly between a bunch of businesses. We walked here on a gorgeous day and got to enjoy some good drinks. They have lots of non-dairy alternatives, I will say that if you get one of the energy drinks with the cream, they don't have non-dairy creams which is fine for me. I think a good idea is providing maybe an alternative topping or something just because they also ran out of peach rings so my drink was just the juice, no cream, no candy. I should have asked for some boba in it because it was plain. To be fair I can't have dairy so that isn't always the makers fault!!! Just could be a nice suggestion/alternative for those fruity/energy drinks when this occurs. read more

When I first started going to this coffee shop I nearly fell in love . The coffee is spectacular. I usually do just a traditional cold brew with an occasional splash of oatmilk with the chocolate banana bread (my favorite) . This time I went however , I found myself greatly disappointed when I ordered a latte and I forgot to order it with oat milk . Oat milk is necessary for me bc I have a dairy allergy . After the first sip I knew something was off and I checked to see and turns out I actually forgot to request it with oat milk which is fine and I did acknowledge that without placing blame . I told the barista I would be willing to pay for whatever extra for it because I needed my drink to be made with oatmilk . When we got back to the cash register I realized that she was trying to charge me for an entirely new latte . I asked her why I wouldn't just be charged for the oatmilk by itself and she said since it was my mistake I couldn't get it remade and that I would have to buy another one and honestly that completely turned me off about my experience here . For reference this is also the first time this had happened to me here and I usually go to a different coffee shop for my personal time throughout the week (this is my before work coffee shop iykyk) that's more familiar with my order and I just forgot to mention oat milk for my latte . The cashier was super nice though and I'm sure she was just following protocols and procedures when it comes to remakes but , for the person in charge I highly advise revisiting the drawing board in terms of providing a better customer service experience in terms of making the moment right with customers . Aside from that the atmosphere is pretty chill in the cafe . There is like a weird swarm of flies that always seems to be in the same spot every time I come here too but minus that it's almost always very clean also . read more

I tried asking for a refund when my bagel was served to me without cream cheese the girl with red hair would not give me refund this morning after I asked for one. she said well there is stuff in the middle, I said like what, she said cheese and I said I'll give it a try since she wouldn't give me refund. so I tried bagel and it was cold in middle with two cold jalapeños the bagel was gross, not any cheese, just warm bread which wasn't good at all. I'm writing this as I was not given a refund. so I spent $7 for warm piece of bread with nothing inside and cold in middle. I do NOT recommend this coffee shop for anything as customer service sucks. read more

This place has the best food and coffee! I've had about 4 baristas make me the same drink now, and it always tastes the same. I feel like it's usually hard to find the same consistency with coffee places, but they definitely have it!
