It was my first visit to Braganza inside Capital Mall on Saturday, and I want to recognize the amazing staff. 3 out of the 4 workers that day were truly wonderful. There were two cashiers, the boy making drinks in the back, and one woman at the pickup counter who we assume was the manager since she looks older and was directing everyone else in a very bossy way. The cashier who helped us was incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming. She smiled the whole time, didn't rush us while ordering, and was so sweet to my son. The other cashier and the boy making drinks were also friendly, polite, and communicated well. The three of them were smiling, interacting happily, and had great teamwork. It honestly impressed us and gave the store such a warm, positive vibe. The drinks tasted great, the boba was soft, and the decorations were cute. We didn't have cash to tip and they didn't have tip on cards, but the cashier told us a Yelp review would help them, and they deserve it. The sad part: Our order was #88. After the "manager" handed out #87, we assumed the drinks were being given out in order, so we stepped up to the counter. She placed the taro smoothie down, so we picked it up, thinking it was ours. Instead of explaining kindly, she snapped at us, "We didn't call your order yet," and took the drink back from my son in a very aggressive way. It was our first time there and we genuinely didn't know they only go by calling the number. Her tone felt rude and unnecessarily harsh. When our order was ready, she yelled out the number even though we were standing right in front of her, then turned away without acknowledging us at all. Her attitude felt completely different from the rest of the team, and it made the moment uncomfortable. Still, I'm giving 5 stars because the other three workers were amazing and truly made our visit enjoyable. They deserve all the appreciation and recognition. I'm pretty picky when it comes to bubble tea because I grew up going to great boba shops in Chicago's Chinatown. Although Braganza isn't the best I've ever had, I'll definitely be a repeat customer. Pricing is pretty average at about $5/drink. I was happy to hear that the strawberry and mango smoothies are made with real fruit (instead of powders which are often used as a replacement). I got the mango smoothie tea and it was delicious. The drink was fresh and sweet but not too syrupy. The tapioca pearls were a nice texture -- not too hard or soft! I was pleasantly surprised to find a bubble tea place at the Capital Mall! There was a long line which seemed promising. I ordered a classic black milk tea. They weren't able to adjust the sugar so they told me they would do "less sugar". When I got my drink, it was horrible. It basically tasted like really weak tea- almost water!! The sugar tasted like fake sugar. The only good part about it was the boba but there was nothing special about the boba. The prices were decent but the milk tea was awful!! I have been going to Braganza Tea for a really long time and would go for a drink almost every afternoon on my way home from work. They have a wide selection of flavors and personally, I love their milk teas, especially their matcha milk tea (attached to this post, including my customizations). They are amazing; probably the BEST milk teas you could find around town. It was also cool to find how customizable your drink could be. They were pretty good at getting my order down to the T(ea, haha) considering how busy it always gets. To top off the experience, their workers have a very welcoming attitude and make it less daunting to go through the drink selection process, especially for newcomers. I don't know why it's taken me so long to get a tea from Braganza but that's neither here nor there. I stopped in and opted for a strawberry tea with green apple jellies and boba. I like that they have a picture menu also with words, so those who are unfamiliar with bubble tea or teas in general can get a feel for what they are getting in to. This place isn't just blended bubble tea either. They have milk tea and regular iced teas. Yes, it's true other places have more variety but this place isn't over-complex. Pick a tea, pick an add-on. Simplicity. I believe you can mix and match as well. Also the place is pretty clean as well. Now, I will probably try a different tea the next time as the strawberry I got was lacking a little in flavor. I also thought the boba were kind of small compared to other places and the green apple jelly probably wasn't a good choice with strawberry since I could hardly taste the jellies. I agree though that the boba were soft and pliable so that's a nice change as many times they are hard, inedible, or freeze too quickly. It's a cute place though and at least it's another choice beside Bubble Island. They are a lot less pricey and the large size is a lot more generous than other places as well. read more

I've had better flavorful boba teas in the past. I got a Taro smoothie with lychee. Honestly, with other places even if the lychee is rather of a strong add on, you can still usually taste the taro. Especially when you run out of the jelly filling. I didn't taste any taro, all lychee, and I will attach a photo to this review to show you all how my taro drink looked. Usually it's more purple in color right? But this one was more white... anyway, like I said, I don't hate it, it tastes like lychee lol and it taste good, but I wish I got more of the Taro flavor in there. ** UPDATE ** Someone messaged regarding the color of the drink. They confirmed that taro in powder form is white .. but .. anyway, the color I guess is not what gives you flavor .. PS. I've been to 3 different locations, most recently the one inside Capital Mall (I mostly frequent the ones at Alderwood and Northgate Mall locations). Although it's not the best I've ever had, I really appreciate the consistently good quality of their drinks. Also, and slightly more important to me, the boba is always perfectly cooked: not over, not under, not a huge clumps stuck together, not too soupy - taking up too much room where there should be actual drink, etc. The workers are friendly and the service is quick. This is my go to place for bubble tea in Olympia. It's at the mall, right by Starbucks and at&t. Their choices for non dairy (6 out of 24) are limited, but I always get the passion fruit peach White tea with Boba. They let you have one add on (like Boba or lychee jelly, among others) for free with your drink. Pricing is actually pretty reasonable ($3.75) for bubble tea. The employees are friendly and the service is usually pretty fast. I almost gave them five stars, but almost every time I come (like today), my order comes with ice even though I ask for no ice since I don't always get to drink it right away and I don't like my drink to get watered down. I don't have them remake the drink since it's a small business and I know supplies cost money, but please, no ice next time! Parking is super easy since it's located in the mall. read more
