Solid 3.5 Stars. (For reference I rate Din Tai Fung 3.5 Stars) Cafe Bollywood is a very welcome addition to DT Bellevue. A very casual sit down restaurant and busy order to go type of place. Don't expect to get your order "fast" after you pay as they seem to take their time on your order and give it the love it deserves. For me, I always don't mind a wait as long as it is worth it, and they have never disappointed. My go-to has been the Lamb Vindaloo. The mixture of spices, herbs, and oh soo good potatoes just hits the spot perfectly for me. I order it medium spicy (for those that love spice make sure to do extra heat). The rice also is important here as the curry and lamb go hand in hand very well. I do wish the lamb had more "succulence" in it though and that might take it over the top for me to 4 stars. Lamb Kadhai was very good. Again, wish the lamb had more "succulence." Chicken 65 is a winner for sure. The price is sweet for what you get in tasty tender chicken bites. Salmon tikka was ok. Flavorful but a tad dry. The BIG MISS HERE is the NAAN. I've ordered it multiple times (butter, and the garlic too) giving it a chance but it is just too plain for me. I'll be visiting often. I appreciate that this is one of the few places open in Bellevue late at night, and the food is decent but won't knock your socks off. I got the Murgh Biryani for $12, and it was a decently sized portion. They were actually very generous with the chicken - I kept finding more and more as I ate. The chicken had the texture of stewed chicken, which isn't necessarily my favorite, but it didn't taste too bad. The flavor of the dish overall is pretty good, it has a pretty good blend of spices but isn't too spicy. My only other gripe about this dish is that the biryani is a bit too dry. It did take a while to get the food and the place isn't the cleanest if you care about that thing. But if it's late at night, this place isn't a bad option. read more

Very good Indian food ! Service could be better. Been here twice and tried a variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. Everything we tried was really good! Was excited to find a restaurant that made rumaali rotis. The chicken tikka masala was my favorite! The place is quite small and they have additional seating outside. Nice to sit outside in summer but otherwise, there's not a lot of room inside and it gets very smokey from the open kitchen. Take-out might be a better option than sitting there with all the smoke and noise. Service - the first time I was there, it was super crowded and it took a long time to get our food. We had to check multiple times cause they kept forgetting a few things each time. I figured it must be because of multiple orders and the crowd. The second time, was for take-out, and after getting home, we found that they didn't pack everything that was on the order and paid for. It was too far to go back and a bad experience since we had friends over for lunch and ended up with insufficient food. There wasn't even a lot of crowd this time. I'll remember to check my take-out order before I leave the restaurant next time, but I hope they are more careful going forward, to provide a better customer experience. read more

My new favorite Indian restaurant! They have great deals for lunch and the sauces are amazing! I ordered their Paneer Tikka Masala and Palak Paneer. The Tikka Masala has a great tomato flavor with a creamy taste and texture and there is no heavy cream! A lot of places add heavy cream and it makes you feel slow for the rest of the day. My Palak Paneer was smooth and savory with a light spinach taste. The combo also comes with a generous amount of Naan (4 big pieces) and a yogurt sauce that I used to compliment the basmati Rice. Went there on a Sunday evening. Place was busy, not with people but with mountains of to go order. We ordered one Vada pav which was good and definitely something to go for again and again. $10.00 for one Vada Paav seemed a little steep though for a small restaurant like this. Tandoori Chicken - one of the best I have ever had. Spicy leg quarters with a lot of flavor. 100% recommend. Samosa Chaat- tasty samosas in chick pea gravy. spicy but flavorful. Bhelpuri - I did not like their take on it and would not recommend. It is very different from the traditional bhel. Chicken Kebab - tender. Not spicy. Lots of flavor. Curries 8/16oz - most of them are tasty but they are really oily. I think that they keep making fresh batches every few hours because they taste fresh. Their Daal is very good and is available everyday. Tandoori roti is ok but not great. Food is very reasonably priced and they deliver through most of the food delivery services. read more

I have been getting their food through door dash but recently I tried take out. I was told it will take 25 minutes, infact I reached 5 minutes earlier. I was told it will take another 20 minutes, perhaps the person on the phone didn't account the order volume and BAU doesn't work may be. I am not disappointed yet, the gentleman on the cash register told me it will take another 20 minutes because they want to make it right, absolutely fair. They did have a huge volume of orders. This place sometimes serves really really good food. Yes... only sometimes. That's the main problem here: inconsistency. I literally stumbled here last Sunday, because I thought I walked into Garlic Crush next door, which is what I originally wanted. It was the best tikka masala, palak paneer, and garlic naan I ever had!!! Flavor was spot on and the tikka masala and palak were perfectly creamy. So pleased with my first experience, I decided to go back today (Friday) to relive the experience. I ordered the same things I had on Sunday, plus lamb biryani and a samosa. I was heavily disappointed. While the samosa was good, everything else was soooooo bland. Either they have a different chef this time, or they decided to water down everything so that all the flavor is gone. I don't think I will be going back. I understand the raving reviews on this place!!! Their lamb curry was amazing. The lamb was very potent, and the bits of lamb although could be softer was still very good. The butter chicken was too tomato based, felt like drinking a creamy tomato soup. Vegetable samosa was sooo good as well! Definitely worth the price. Goes best with the mint chutney. Love this place! They are open super late everyday, like midnight on weekdays and 2am on weekends. Menu is super easy to understand, there's a vegetarian section also. I love how they have smaller portions for a lot of their items so I can order more variety. For example, you have get a half size chicken tikki masala for like $6.5. Since that was so cheap, I ordered a bunch of other sides and was able to turn it into 2 meals and Indian food still taste good after the microwave since it's so flavorful! It's located on Bellevue Way next to Garlic Crush in the same parking lot as Orange Theory. You won't miss it, you'll be able to smell it from a mile away. Basically it's Indian fast food, no frills type of place, but conveniently opens late & I'm sure it delivers on one of those apps. Joy (the owner) was very prompt , in helping me decide the menu and the quantity I might need. They delivered the food in time; needless to say that was helpful. For lunch with a coworker, I ordered the vegetarian combo ($10) so that I could try a variety of dishes on my first visit. It came with two vegetarian entrees (I went with the paneer tikka masala and veg jalfrezi), daal of the day, rice, butter naan and raita. The spice was superb, and the naan was fluffy and fresh. They roll out the naan right there and flash fry it...really good. They give Small and Large size options which are plentiful. The small 8OZ would suffice for me, a single gal, for dinner but I always opt for the large so I have lunch the next day. The curry tastes even better after sitting over night! The restaurant is straight forward and to the point. Highly recommend calling ahead because they are busy for dinner hours. They are also open really late which is great to note. TIKKA-its the perfect amount of spice and cream. I'd go as far to say its a hybrid of a tikka and butter chicken. Decided to go here late Saturday nite to grab a bite since this was the only place open. It's was mid night and there were good amount of people. We ordered few dishes, their chicken 65 , samosa, fish curry , naan and chai. The chai was gross, you could tell it was sitting in a pot for a while and was reheated and served. It had a gross taste to it. The service was Super slow and it took us 40min to get our food. Chicken was cooked well and was flavor some, fish curry was blend, samosa was delicious and the naan was freshly made. As we were eating we looked up on the wall and saw a cockroach **gross** right? Ok we thought maybe it's a one off since the door is wide open etc. but NO there were few others!!! We didn't finish our food and walked out. I have hygiene concerns with this place. This place is not clean, they have cleaning supplies sitting in the middle of the restaurant and by the restrooms. We were loud about seeing the cockroaches and the guy who seemed to be the owner sat on an empty table next to us, looked up and didn't care. This place has no ambience and from what I have heard people only go here as this is open till 2am. read more

One of my top places to eat in Bellevue! Cafe Bollywood certainly is not like the rest of Bellevue, but has its own charm and amazing Indian food. Regardless of where I am, I cannot find Indian food that can surpass Cafe Bollywood even in India! Their chicken tikka masala is my favorites, but everything I've tried has been excellent. Really nice transformation from the hole in the wall mexican place that was there before. The lunch specials are very straightforward - 2 meats $12, 2 veg $10, one of each $11. There's a chicken of the day, daal of the day, and veg of the day in addition to their standard offerings. The manager was enthusiastic about us newcomers and apologetic that the tandoor was not working (but will be in the next day!). We liked the substitute flatbread anyway.
