The chicken 65 biryani was a disappointing in terms of flavor. I was expecting some more colorful and vegetable filled biryani. This was fried chicken in spiced sauce on top of rice that was okay. He also saw that we stopped eating and came over to tell us to go and pay to leave, which was little on the borderline of being rude but I guess it got busy so he wanted the table. Foodwise: there's one section of meat and one section of veggies dishes. All the meat dishes was really good, it was soft, flavorful and tender. The only one that could be better was the tandoori chicken which was a little dry. The veggies curries was pretty stsndard. I think the best thing we all ate and agreed on was the vada (donut). Love the texture and flavor and good at absorbing the sauces. When we first arrived, it was pretty quiet, but once it got busy, it was pretty loud and vibrant. If you get seated in the back room, no one really checks on you for water or cleaning up the plates on your table. Also, it's the first buffet place where can't freely take silverware and napkins for yourself. You need to ask them every time you need them, and they hand you precisely 1 napkin per person, like it's a Covid shortage. The biryani was just rice, with nothing in it. Forget about meat, we could barely see any onion or much seasoning in it. The curries felt very muted, felt even milder than North Indian food. Hey Amulya folks, please check out Curry Point's buffet to see how they handle all the above, including the variety of food to include breakfast items, Indian pizza, delicious biryani with tons of meat, and overall superior quality of food all around. This is one of the worst Indian restaurants I had the displeasure of dining. Food quality, taste, and cleanliness are major letdowns. The buffet food was dry and hard, clearly a result of being reheated multiple times. It is obvious they just keep recycling the same food day after day. The plates provided at the buffet were dirty. I even saw some guests serving themselves with used plates, which is a huge hygiene concern. The overall restaurant was extremely unclean. The tables were dirty and sticky, and I noticed that the dishes and plates were not properly washed. Some plates even had visible oil slicks on them. The storage room door was open, and I was shocked to see how filthy the floor was inside. It honestly made me question how this place passed any health inspection. What they call "biryani" is nothing more than plain masala rice topped with curry. This is a complete insult to anyone who knows what real biryani should be. The rice is cooked in bulk and then refrigerated, only to be served for several days afterward. There was absolutely zero difference in taste between all their paneer biryanis. They are just slight variations of the same curry dumped over old rice. The mirchi ka salan was spoiled and smelled rotten. I could immediately tell it was several days old based on the foul odor. Serving food in this condition is unacceptable and potentially dangerous. I wouldn't recommend Amulya Indian Cuisine to anyone who cares about cleanliness, food quality, or basic hygiene. While paying the bill, I saw the owner scratching his sweaty scalp and then immediately touched the serving spoons of the Buffet. read more

There was a selection of about half-dozen each meat (chicken and lamb) and vegetarian main dishes, plus several types of rice, naan, etc. The palak paneer - creamed spinach, one of my favorites - was terrific. Every dish was outstanding: really, really good! The host (owner?) and staff were very professional and friendly. Othet patrons were enjoying their meals.. Despite a couple childishly vindictive reviews the restaurant generally, food service area, plates and utensils all were very clean - spotless and well organized. There were no waiters to pull out my chair or lick my shoes but hey - it's a buffet! Total price was $25.00, which seems a bit high - but what isn't these days? Why spend $15-20.00 on marginal fast food when you can enjoy a high quality restaurant meal, AYCE, for a few dollars more? Amulya will be on my monthly rotating list of lunch restaurants. By far the best Andhra food as well as Northern Indian dishes that stayed true to the recipes from Taj Palace which this location used to be. Amulya Indian Cuisine serves a delicious buffet of Indian dishes, not only for lunch, but for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays. It's a great addition to Bellevue as many of the Indian restaurants no longer offer a buffet post-COVID. My partner and I love Indian food, especially buffets because we like to try different items. I especially love spicy south Indian curries, which Amulya offers, in addition to classic northern Indian items. The buffet is not the largest in variety, but offers plenty and is fulfilling. The must-eat item is the pepper chicken! I loved the pepper chicken and so did everyone else as they had to cook more and refill the buffet of it. The pepper chicken is tender, very flavorful with pepper and has a nice crunch to it. Do not leave Amulya without trying the pepper chicken! Another item I enjoyed was the mutton curry, which was on the spicier side. Just be careful of the bones. The chutneys were all very good, and I liked that the chai here does not have sugar in it. (Chai is so good on its own that it astounds me why anyone would want to add sugar in it.) They make the naan fresh for each table and you can ask for more to be made. We visited on a Friday night and the place was pretty busy, with many patrons dining in. The staff was friendly and many of the staff here cleared tables, refilled waters, checked in with customers, refilled buffet items, etc. The service is top notch. Fridays and Saturday nights are when they offer a buffet dinner and lunch is offered on a daily basis. The buffet is $20 for adults. Amulya's is located in the same business strip as Baskin Robbins and Wibbley's, next to Harley Davidson in Bellevue. Parking is plenty and it's easy to find. I'm glad we were able to check out this new Indian restaurant, which has a lot of positives going for it. I'd happily dine here again. read more

We ate here a year ago and it was below par and spicy. We had to come again due to lack of dinner buffets in the area. That was a big mistake, the place has really taken a turn for the worse. 1Everything is extremely spicy , cudnt really taste anything else. I'm north Indian , and I can take heat, but this was next level spicy. 2. Very dirty and food is carelessly just dumped with no labels. Nothing was fresh. 3. Rude owners/ managers who just sit on your next table and just stare at you. 4. I read another review that said the owner just hit the no receipt button after overcharging. I kept wondering why he pressed the no receipt button when I was about to print it, I just let it go as we were in a hurry. I just couldn't understand the total what I was charged. Because of someone else's review I now understand he overcharged me and took advantage of the fact that my attention was taken by my kids. This place is not clean. The food is not fresh nor tasty. The service is way below par. I went for the lunch buffet. The interior is visibly filthy. The plates and bowls were not clean, the buffet counter and pans were greasy and spattered. The tables and condiments sticky. The floor and walls are dirty . Even the elder offering in front entrance is nasty with dead brown rose petals floating in dirty water. There are boxes, chairs , paper products and toilets, yes toilets, stacked and stored visibly against the walls. The bathroom is sticky, dusty and well, I'll attach some photos. The food was incredibly greasy. The buffet was nasty. A lot of the food was unrecognizable , and broken or mashed up where it shouldn't be. The chicken dishes were vats if greasy sauce where you had to fish to find any meat and once you did, it was dry and rubbery. I dont think there were any legume dishes. One dish was paneer in a woody bay leaf and greens , mostly woody stems and broken cheese. (?) idk what I ate. The naan was good but i had to ask for it otherwise i would have had none. The hot chai is offered self serve in 3 oz dixie cups. Some of the spoons at the buffet were too hot to use. Finallybthe service. I was shown to a seat and given a napkin and silverware and water. Then nothing. I got my own water, found my own sugar ( mine was empty, but the sugar packets on the other table and the one by the chai were, no exaggeration, sticky and stuck together and to the dish. It was our first time to try this Indian Cuisine place in Bellevue. They had a lunch buffet with ample vegetarian and non vegetarian options. The food was tasty, and the goat meat was tender with just the right amount of spices. The rice biryani was quite tasty and I was happy to see my favorite dish of Saag Paneer! They had the chicken masala, tandoori chicken . And a whole lot more dishes! The young waitress was prompt with clearing dishes away. My husband and I ate here at 12:30 during a weekday. Cost $50. I didn't read other reviews that said to avoid this place at all costs. I wish I had. Looks like new owners and there is a clear difference in the level of food, ambiance and service. We arrived and no one came out to greet us. We just ended up taking a seat in the back. Then a woman came out and had us move tables - no hello. We then went to the lunch buffet. The food labels were written in pen and on the back of receipts. When we finally got our water, the woman was carrying our glasses under her breasts. We then ran out of water mid meal and never saw person come out and do a scan for any patron needs. The food was Ok but some of the items were actually cool to the touch. They don't care about service or a clean environment so I guess I shouldn't be surprised about the food. There was also no food safety rating in the window fyi. That should have clued me in. Honestly, there are better, tastier and safer places to eat. She overcharged us $40 for the buffet when we did not get food from the buffet, we just ordered a couple dishes. Was astonished when I saw the bill for $130. The food was actually pretty good, but the service was terrible. It felt like we were being treated differently because of our race, which was really upsetting. While we were still eating, the staff asked us to leave so they could seat other customers--even though there were people nearby who had been there longer and weren't asked to move.
