Pani Puri, Garlic Naan, Mango Lassi, and Chicken Tikka Masala
Michelle H.

I have had the pleasure of experiencing the lunch buffet and dine-in option and both were really great for me! At the buffet, service was minimal but that is to be expected. For the dine-in option, the service was pretty typical of a usual restaurant. It can be a pretty quiet restaurant for the most part, unless people are talking or there is music playing. There were a lot of good options at the lunch buffet; I really enjoyed the Chicken Biryani. However, I am not a fan of their Chicken Tikka Masala as it tastes too tomato-y and lacks in spice and flavor for me.As for the dine-in option, I feel like you can never go wrong with Garlic Naan. I also love Pani Puri, so I am really glad that Cafe Bombay has this on their menu! Lastly, the Mango Lassi was super smooth and tasty.

Yeah, I will not return to this venue. The service was horrible. I came for their lunch buffet on Sunday. The place was not that busy when I first arrived but it started to get packed. The server took my drink order and never returned. I don't know if there was a miscommunication or what. Another server was taking care of all the tables around me but my server never returned and did not even come back to the room. The food was decent but nothing spectacular. I wish they used more seasoning, spice, and a little more heat.

You can walk in, and I assure you that you will find a seat. I like this place because their prices are reasonable and they have so many options for Indian cuisine. The lamb biryani was really good. My drink was okay. Their service is alright and they do play a lot of Indian style stuff on the TV which was captivating.

This place has been around a long time and is stilll good. $15 for all you can eat lunch buffet. I like it! The staff is good about picking up your plates when needed and bringing the check at the right time. There are 2 rooms. A large room in back seems to be for large groups and overflow. After all at a buffet you want to sit close. When I walk in they usually point at a table and usually its the closest available. I especially like to dip the nan in an orage color sauce. Also the Gulab Jamun (a fried dough in sweet syrup are SO good.

We are frequent customers of Cafe Bombay, the brunch buffet keeps us coming back in particular. I never leave this establishment unsatisfied!

I ordered takeout on Christmas Day, and decided to stop in for the lunch buffet awhile later. Let's get into it. Location and Parking Cafe Bombay is located in a small strip mall behind Target on N Druid Hills. The driveway is easy to miss, but if you drive past it you can pull into the Target parking lot and come back. Venue and Atmosphere The interior is no-frills, but it is clean and the aroma of delicious Indian food is in the air. Proceed to the host stand and they will seat you. Let them know if you want plated or buffet service, and live your best life. Food and Beverages Food was hot, fresh, and flavorful. The food is authentic and spice levels vary. The buffet is pretty extensive, but I recall Tikka Masala, Tandoori chicken, palak (spinach) as well as vegetarian dishes, rice, naan, and a salad bar. They have a few desserts as well as egg rolls. Though it is all you can eat, I was full after only one plate. The price is $17, not including a beverage. Service Service is minimal given that it is a buffet, but I was greeted with a smile and my water was refilled quickly each time. Verdict I'll be back if I'm in the area at lunchtime!

Got cafe Bombay for thanksgiving this year. It was awesome that they were open. I wasn't able to adjust the heat, so the paneer tikka Marsala was bland and kinda tasted like tomato soup. The garlic naan was pretty good. Service was good. If I could adjust the heat, I would try it again.

Just got the lunch buffet based off these people in the comments who obviously don't have any taste buds. This food is terrible, do not waste your time or money here. The cleanliness is awful. Seriously people raise your standards with reviews....naan Is hard as a rock

I love that it's 13 mins from my house which is a plus. The inside definitely need a renovation done asap ! It's a old building with old furniture and decor. The carpet is old and dirty . Let's talk about the food. At first I thought I was tripping but I'm not. Every time I visit this restaurant and I get food I get bad diarrhea. I mean REAL REAL BAD. I've tried multiple things on the menu and it never fails. I truly hate that my stomach doesn't agree because the food is great . But it's a no go for me . I love the CHEESE NAN BREAD

Ask the Community - Cafe Bombay

What time is the lunch buffet and is it offered on weekends? Thanks!

I would suggest calling them for the buffet hours. I always visit there on Saturdays between noon and 2 pm

Is the buffet still offered at lunch?

Yes, it is back.

We stopped by Amul Veg Restaurant for a mid-afternoon snack while shopping at Global Mall. The food…read moreand drink were tasty. Based on that, I wouldn't mind coming back and trying more of the menu. This place might actually have five-star potential when it comes to Indian snacks and street food in metro Atlanta -- the menu offerings and pictures look promising. We had Pani Puri (eight pieces for $7.99) and a Mango Lassi ($3.99). Both were delicious. Panipuri are deep-fried, hollowed-out balls filled with potatoes, chickpeas, and spices, and you add a side of flavored water yourself; in this case, green mint water. I think maybe there was some coriander in there too. I'm not sure. There was also a dark red/brown spicy sauce (legit spicy), from a squeeze bottle at the food cart. I think it had tamarind in it. The Mango Lassi tasted fresh. It was cold, sweet, creamy, and refreshing. My wife thinks it was pre-made and had been sitting in a fridge ready to go. Either way, it was good. Amul Veg Restaurant's menu features several different kinds of Indian apps and chaat (savory snacks), Indian pizza, pav bhaji and sandwiches, and more. I love pav bhaji and would like to try their version if we return. Amul Veg Restaurant is located inside Global Mall, an Indian shopping mall in Norcross / Gwinnett County, just off I-85 exit 99 (Jimmy Carter Blvd). The restaurant is on the second floor, next to the food court. Unlike the food court stalls/counters that share common-area seating, Amul Veg Restaurant has its own space with dedicated seating. We sat in one of the dining room booths. This is a small, simple, clean, brightly-lit, casual eatery that has a similar look and feel to a fast-food restaurant. When we entered around 3:40pm on a Sunday, it was just my wife and me and one other diner. By the time we left, by 4:00pm, it was busier with at least four other small parties dining in or waiting for their to-go orders. Service was fine. Amul Veg Restaurant opened in 2021.

I must admit to being pleasantly surprised - sure this isn't the best Indian, but nor is it the worst I've ever had - the flavors seemed fairly "right on" to me. Nothing was over-the-top in heat and they offered both goat and chicken. My only disappointment was in the general warmth of several of the dishes but I wasn't really surprised due to they're being in a buffet table. The hotel pan of naan bread was abysmal - dried out and cold, however we were offered fresh so I won't count that against the place. The server also greeted us at the door and I have a feeling it may have been the owner. There's a giant fish tank in the center of the room that would have added to an otherwise plain interior, if it wasn't for the annoying child standing in front of it talking to herself regarding pretty much everything in the tank. I got to hear all as she was standing right behind me. I really don't understand this trend of parents allowing their children to run around unsupervised but that's a different issue. I won't go to much into the food itself other than to note the tandoori chicken was right on, the chicken tika masala was really good, the fried veggies cold and the biryani not worth eating. But this being a buffet there was still plenty to sample and there wasn't anything there that was worse than my expectations - actually the tika was above average I thought. So the real standout and reason for a return trip is the price - $7.99 for an evening Indian buffet! For that price I can put up with a few inferior items - heck they serve liquor too.
