Chinese Dhaba is a lively, strip-mall spot turning out Chinese dishes prepared with Indian herbs and spices. This restaurant is located inside the Global Mall on the first floor in the food court division. Loved their Chicken 65 appetizer which is the best, also their Lo Mein Chicken Noodles and house special fried rice which comes with chicken, beef and shrimp. It's overall satisfying and great in taste. There is ample free parking in and around the mall. Now before you try this place, keep in mind that this place is the exact replica of the street food you get on the Indian streets. There are no frills or amazing props for ambience and neither is there some great customer service. However, if you're into that real Indian version of that Chinese food- real salty, greasy and something where you are looking for the street food vibe, this is a place to try out. Global Mall (off Jimmy Carter Blvd) caters to a "South Asian" clientele, and the food court is unapologetically ethnic. So we organized a small UYE (Unofficial Yelp Event) to discover this place among a few other very nice finds in that food court. Chinese Dhaba is delicious. At first I thought, "Why try a 'Chinese' place among these other great Indo-Pak offerings?" But I'm glad I did. We sampled many things that day. Staff was extremely friendly to me and my non-brown friends. They listened to us and made really good suggestions. I rather liked the Garlic Chili Noodles. This little eatery is tucked away in the corner of the food court. Service was quick and we only waited 5 min for the order to be ready. The crispy chili paneer served with rice was a good portion that 2 could share as a hearty snack. It is well sauced and cooked with fried onions. It tasted very good and was a bit spicy. Came here with a friend of mine who told me about a few Indian restaurants I needed to check out in Global mall. One of those restaurants is Chinese Dhaba! Chinese Dhaba is pretty much a fusion of Chinese food with the spices of Indian food you're used to, and while that all sounded delicious, my go to bench mark of Indian to try is Chicken 65, so that's what I ordered! The Chicken 65 ($7.95) if you don't know are little chicken nuggets, red in color, slightly spicy with sliced onion and green bell pepper. The chicken had really great flavor, slightly crispy and an entire entree is enough to fill up most, even though it's basically an appetizer. Customer service was friendly and fast. They told me it'd take 10 minutes for my food to be ready but it was done in half the time. Nice! Located on the top floor of Global mall to the right of the escalators, it's hard to miss CD. There's a ton of seating, although it's shared between the restaurants. Pretty nice restaurant for a cool twist on both Chinese and Indian foods. This place is in the food court and I wish I had know when I placed the order on the phone, would have looked elsewhere. The food was just plain bad, not tasty at all. One of my co-workers (yes, he's Desi) keeps telling me to try the Chicken 65 at Chinese Dhaba. After several months of harassing me, I finally decided to go there. Chinese Dhaba has three locations in Georgia - Norcross, Duluth, & Decatur. Co-worker didn't care which location I try cause he says they're all good. Since the Norcross location is the closest to me, I decided to go there. It is located inside Global Mall off Jimmy Carter and I-85 in the food court on the top floor. Why is "Chinese" part of the name? Chinese Dhaba serves chinese food, Indian style. For example, you can order Kung Pao chicken but with Indian flavors. Of course, I had to order the famous Chicken 65, which is also my fave dish. My daughter ordered the Crispy Chili Paneer. The dish came with white rice. In addition, I ordered the samosa. I was a bit disappointed with the samosas cause it tasted like a veggie eggroll. I wanted Indian samosa lol. Chicken 65 was soooo yummy. It's crispy just the way I like with the right amount of spices. My only complaint would be instead of the green bell peppers, I would like to have jalepenos, I'm just so used to it being like that at other restaurants where I've ordered Chicken 65. Crispy Chili Paneer is really good too!! Veggie Indian dishes don't make you miss meat at all. Overall, great experience, I would go back. The menu is affordable and lots of variety. Last time I went here, I left satisfied with the food, flavor and portions. Previous experiences since new owner came were horrible. Today I went here and got 3 menu items, fried rice and 3 soups. The food was hot and good, but after leaving, I realized that they had overcharged me by $10. Was too late to turn around and being hungry all day, I didn't feel like going back to argue with them. I paid $35 for 3 entrees and 1 fried rice +$16 for 3 soups. Should have been $32 for entrees and rice plus $9 for soups. Watch what they charge you here, they'll take your money in a heartbeat if you don't. I'm all for paying for what I get, but ethics is what a business thrives on. When I write a review of Indo- Chinese food, I am going to compare the food to the best of the best in India. Btw, for the non Indian reader Indo- Chinese is a fusion of Chinese and Indian food, thought to have originated in a Chinese community(the only Chinatown in India) in Calcutta, India. Indo chinese is actually a really good fusion of indian flavors into chinese food. The end result should actually be more Chinese and less Indian. Contrary to popular belief, Indo chinese is not always hot, spicy, overcooked and dry as in this place. It is flavorful, fresh and some times hot. Chinese Dhaba in Global mall, atlanta serves the version of Indo-Chinese you get in the road side trucks, open stalls in India and this version is not the real deal. I was craving Indian-Chinese and originally wanted to go to Bamboo Garden but my parents convinced me to go here instead.. and I'm glad they did! Its in the Global Mall food court and this place used to be called Chinese Rasoi! The menu is similar and the food is still great. Service is fast and the owner is funny and friendly. I love: crispy chinese bhel, chicken 65, chilli garlic noodles, chicken manchurian and fish manchurian. WARNING: The chilli dishes are VERY, VERY SPICY! Dine at your own risk. They are really busy on the weekends and you might have trouble finding a table. The only thing I didn't care for were the vegetable spring rolls. I saw the 1 and 2 star reviews on Yelp and I still chose this spot at the 'global mall,' mainly because it was the first stall in the food court. I should have walked around a bit, but time was of the essance ... The young men w-a-i-t-i-n-g near the stall should have been my first clue. But instead of walking around the court and finding another choice, I ordered (what was advertised on a printed flyer and the store website) as the Special of the Day... I was on a 'short' lunch break and wanted something to go and I thought the 'special' may be ready The woman/girl behind the counter was not aware of the daily special flyer posted on the wall of her stall nor did she seem adept at making change. A woman in the back came out to help her write the ticket and stayed a bit to help with customers. They are busy, I'll say that but ya gotta have time because this kitchen is glacially slow. Time progresses and the young men started getting disgruntled... me too. I noticed a few of the other food stalls and really should have went to the one with the prepared dishes out on a steam table... because Chinese Dhaba took way too long and really screwed up my 'lunch hour' for this new job I've recently got. Ripoff. I got the dry Manchurian. It comes in a plate as shown. Usually you get 7-10 pieces of the fried balls. Looking at the plate, you can see that most of it is the gravy that you eat with the pieces. I got 4 pieces in all. For 8 bucks! When I went to inquire, I was met with the typical Indian attitude that the customer is wrong. The lady didn't believe me. She reluctantly offered to give me a few more pieces after I told her I wasn't looking for a refund. So add snarky customer service to ripoff. Won't come back to any of their locations. We've catered through Chinese Dhaba a couple of times and it's always been a hit. However, yesterday we had an event and chose a different caterer and we were not satisfied with their food. We made one call to Chinese dhaba and they had a tray of fried rice ready within an hour and it was delicious. We used to go to this place when I was little, and we came here a few weeks ago. As a kid, I remember it being better. On our recent visit, we got quite a lot of food. Chicken wings, chicken manchurian, chicken lollipop, 2 types of noodle, fried rice, chicken 65, and paneer. Everything tasted basically the same. It was weird. They have this red chili sauce on all the tables which is delicious but even putting that on my plate was questionable because the container it was in was dirty. I think the only reason I liked this place was because so many of the things are fried but now, it seems too heavy even though I still love fried food. If I had to recommend anything, it would be the chicken lollipop. read more

I ordered the szcheuan noodles and the ginger chicken. The noodles had more chili oil on them than anything else, and it was just lacking in taste. The ginger chicken included so much ginger, similar pieces to what you would mildly garnish Nihari with. I ended up picking out a lot of the ginger pieces because it was just too much.
