I LOVE this place! I eat here multiple times a week, the staff is amazing and the food is awesome! Even when busy the service is great; love the people there. I also love that the food is fresh and the portions are generous. I'm addicted to the chicken salad but can easily be talked in to a chicken fried steak (which is big enough for two meals). This place is my lunch spot at least a couple times a week and fits in my budget. read more

This is one of those places you walk in and all the staff immediately treats you like family. Everyone is smiling and friendly. Kids eat free on a limited menu option with purchase of entree. My kids love the options on the free menu so it works out for me They have gone above and beyond during this pandemic to help feed their community. When grocery curbside spots were harder to come by in the beginning I bought some wholesale groceries from them saving me having to go into a grocery store. I am a Cafe Chris Club girl myself but they have tons of great options on their menu. The cheese soup is so good. This is one of our favorite lunch spots! Cafe Chris has good service and fresh food that they clearly make when you order it. Some of our favorites have been the EVERYTHING! Seriously, we've had burgers, croissant sandwiches, soup- and never had anything but a good experience. The service is friendly and fast. I'm pretty sure it's the owners that usually take our order- you can tell everyone in there really cares about the restaurant and the experience people have when they come to eat. Quality of food is poor for the price you pay. Drinks are not that good. Fruit isn't always in season so it's not always the best side choice. This restaurant is overrated, I would recommend eating elsewhere. read more

Recommended by a friend. Stopped in for a quick lunch with my mother. Ordered a chef salad and she ordered a different salad. Food was delivered fast, lots of it, fresh and nicely arranged. Coming back home from Padre Island and we were all starving and found this little diner. I LOVED this place! Our waitress was super awesome and her little niece did a great job bringing me my tea! They have a great menu, lots of variety but the best was Chris's Club with the avocado. YUM!!! My kids got the CFS and it didn't even fit on the plate. My son gave it a good shot and my daughter couldn't hang, LOL! My mom ordered a salad and really enjoyed it. It was clean, it was nice, the food and staff were great! The food is great but we have never had a good experience here. We came in for lunch one day we didn't have a problem getting a table but the service was very poor. I ordered the lunch special and it took an hour to be brought out. My wife has tried going a few more times but the only good thing she has to say is that the food is good. read more

Traveling with family in a large RV on I-37 N around lunch time to discover all members were getting hungry for some home cookin' food. From the reviews of Cafe Chris, in Pleasanton,TX, we decided to travel 10 miles out of the way to experience what others were saying. We called ahead to make sure there was parking for our 40' RV of which Erica politely explained where we could park. Upon entering Cafe Chris it was open seating and friendly staff making us feel welcomed as they all continued with helping each other exemplifying "great team work". We met Erica and she was quickly to comfort us from our travels. Orders were taken and out came the plentiful salad with homemade dressings. Then came our food of a bountiful feast..catfish platter (fish was excellent and "not fishy" tasting), large shrimp platter (delicious) and chicken fried chicken (Erica reassured it could be cut in strips). To top the meal off, the coconut cream cake was shared. After 43 years of marriage, I was told this was the best coconut cake ever. The flavor, the moisture, the frosting and the texture beat the family recipe hands down. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food given. When leaving we were able to meet Grandma (Owner) and thank Erica (Manager) for a well worth stop. read more

Passing thru while working & found this Chris', it was very good. Quaint cafe with sandwiches to tacos to salads. Had a club sandwich & BLT, both were good. Will stop again when in the area. Pretty busy, but fast service. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This place must have it's staff write its reviews. When we arrived we noticed flies on the table next to us. We only stayed because of the limited places to eat and we were starving. The food was nothing spectacular. The wait staff was eating at tables right next to customers and still serving without washing their hands. Also yelling out to other wait staff, telling jokes and stories. Only positive is that it was cheap. read more
