This is a perfect place to go for date night, friends dinner, or even a small party. The vibe is perfect. It's a small dining room but layed out in a way to maximize space and privacy. The service is amazing, from the second we entered until we left, we felt pampered and special. Food was delicious but a few in our party weren't satisfied with their dishes. They said it tasted good but wasn't as good as they hoped. It was a little pricey but reasonable for the quality and service. They have complimentary valet. I was surprised they didn't have a dedicated bar you can sit at before or after reservation time.

We celebrated a friend's birthday at Cafe Cortina. This restaurant reminded me of an old school Italian restaurant that one would find in Chicago or New York. The rooms were dimly lit. There was a large brick fire place, the walls were brick and wood and the floors had dark carpet. The tables had crisp white linen coverings. The place had an old world feel to it which made the experience unique and nostalgic. The service was prompt and friendly, and the food was well prepared. We enjoyed the Italian wines on the wines by the glass list. This is a great place for celebrating an event with friends and family.

My husband and I came to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant has a very romantic vibe and we were seated in a cozy booth. The wait staff were very attentive and the wine and food list were extensive with a lot of great choices. We enjoyed the gulf shrimp appetizer, house salad with a great vinaigrette and I had the lobster pasta special and my husband the gnocchi. The lobster pasta had 3 lobster claws and the gnocchi was very tender. We will definitely be back!

I do not understand why CC does not get more Yelp Love. Yes, it is spendy! Now that Bacco is dust, CC is my favorite (west side) place for an Italian splurge night. Modern, tasteful interior. Superior service. The kitchen knows their craft. The ingredients have never disappointed. Valet does not cop an attitude when I decline their services. Bartender has yet to embarrass themselves by visiting the table and asking, what is a Rusty Nail? (Yes; Lelli's, I have not forgotten and the snotty reply from the bartender when I asked Siri for the recipe.) Will I return? Absolutely, yes!

I surprised my wife (well until we got about a mile and a half from the restaurant when she figured it out) for a birthday dinner for a special birthday. We had never been there together and neither of us had been here in more than 33 years. After our experience last night we realize what a mistake that has been! The restaurant is as charming as our memories recall it being. From the moment you enter, you are treated as valued guests. Everyone we came into contact with were both warm and professional. We started with two appetizers to share, the pera cotta and the fiora di carciofi fritta. Both were delicious. We particularly enjoyed the fiora. Prior to the appetizers arriving we were greeted by the sommelier to answer any questions we had about the wine as well as one of the most important people in the restaurant, the young man who kept bringing by very good warm rolls. We never had to request more. We knew Cafe Cortina was known for its lasagna so we decided to get one of each, the Emiliana and the Lasagna Vincigrassi. We did not know that these came with a house salad until the salads arrived which were very nice. The lasagna? Both were decadent in a good way, rich, flavorful and in generous portions. It's not often I can't finish a meal at a restaurant but we actually took quite a bit home. Multiple rolls (I won't admit how many I ate) probably contributed to my inability to finish the lasagna. Neither of us could decide which lasagna was better.....they are different but both outstanding. Dessert was just not going to happen though we saw something chocolate with many layers that looked fantastic. The overall experience at Cafe Cortina was worthy of a rare 5 star for me. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and my personal thanks to the chef and all the employees we encountered for helping make my wife's birthday dinner special. We will definitely be back! Oh, one very minor gripe..maybe gripe is the wrong word. Most every restaurant of this caliber we have been to for a birthday or anniversary offers a complimentary dessert when they have been informed you are celebrating something. They did have a happy birthday card on our table but no dessert (not that we needed one as I mentioned) but it is a nice touch.

Came here for an anniversary dinner with my husband and I've been wanting to come here for quite a long time but we live over an hour away. So when we had the chance to come, I knew this was the place to go! I met the executive Chef, Ernesto Antonia when I was going to culinary school and followed him on Instagram for years. He came out to talk to us after we got seated and it was truly a pleasure to eat here. Our host for the evening was fantastic. He explained the menu and how a lot of things were grown in their garden next to the restaurant. We started with bread, thinly sliced eggplant wrapped around buffalo mozzarella and sprinkled with chili oil. It was SO good. Then the garden salad came out and then a lemon sorbet to help cleanse the palate. I ordered the scallops over truffle risotto with a red pepper puree (Capasante) and my husband had the short rib braised pasta pillows (Agnolotti Piedmontese) and everything was divine! They brought us a really wonderful cake to end our meal and wrote "Happy Anniversary." The ambiance was wonderful, the food was absolutely amazing and we are definitely coming back to try the lasagne (which we heard alot about) and some of the other items that sounded delicious!

The ambiance in this lovely restaurant was exceptional as was the service. Water glasses were always refilled promptly. The Burratta was my favorite. And the red sauces were a little spicy but very good.

Had reservations but you can still walk in most evenings. Nice size table with plenty of room for food but small enough for everyone to talk to others. Quiet enough to hear even with an filled dining room. More fancy than other national Italian restaurants. I ordered my normal which is a pizza, pineapple and ham with extra sauce. I talked the pizza up and the person next to me decided to try one and was very happy she did. The rest ordered a mix of pasta dishes, salmon and a pasta salad. Of course we enjoyed their famous bread that had to be refilled. The major problem was the service. What started as a little slow went to not checking after the meals was brought out by 2 other servers. One person didn't get his pasta salad until I flagged down another server and explained what happened. The missing salad was quickly brought out and our drinks refilled by that kind server. Our normal server quickly showed up when she saw what was happening. Even with the problem with our service most of us look forward to coming back.

They looked and tasted like they'd been air-fried instead of being actual truffle fries. And when I asked for ranch? They brought Hidden Valley. At a place like this, that's rough. My friends had mixed experiences too--some dishes were decent, others just fine. Nothing that stood out. But here's the real thing: we told them we were celebrating a birthday, and when I had to ask about dessert, they basically brushed it off. Most restaurants in this category do something complimentary for birthdays. Not even an offer here. The service was genuinely strange. Not friendly at all. Can I just say that I do not at all understand these critical reviews of Bravo…read more My family and I have been to this location MANY times and all of these critiques seem completely unwarranted and inaccurate. For one, the food is very very good. Bravo has 4 dishes that I would say are exceptional: Chicken Marsala, the Chicken Scalopini, the Pasta Bravo and the Salmon Sandwich. The Chicken Marsala is one of the best iterations in the area. What I like about it personally is that it isn't overly sweet and fruity like many other Marsallas. The garlic and mushrooms are well represented in the sauce and the chicken is always moist and never dry. The Chicken Scalopini is the "freshest" version of Scalopini amongst Italian restaurants in the area. What I mean by that is that this isn't some processed white sauce thrown over chicken. This dish has one of the best lemon butter cream sauces in the area and the feta, mushrooms and capers make it the most sophisticated iterations of the dish in the area. It's far above Olive Garden's version and slightly above Carraba's. The Pasta Bravo is like a Penne Alla Vodka with chicken. The sauce is, again, very unique and the best of its type in the area. Bravo has great sauces! It's very very fresh tasting with no artificial sweetness or textures that plague other pasta dishes like this in the area. Finally, their Salmon Sandwich is possibly the best lunch option in the Livonia area. I don't know who their salmon supplier is, but for some reason the salmon they use is incredibly moist and buttery compared to others in the area. It completely makes the sandwich. Also, the aioli on the sandwich is very very good (again, Bravo has great sauces) This is a great restaurant to go to as a family. The booths are huge and they're not stacking you on top of each other like they do at other spots. It's always extremely clean and the layout is great as the full bar is available but secluded from the rest of the sit down area. Every server I have had at Bravo's has been wonderful. I've been many times and have never had a single poor experience. If anything, I find their waitstaff to be exceptionally courteous and prompt. Even though this isn't a diner, I get loads of refills on the coffee I always order and every accommodation I have from my diet has always been dealt with smoothly. I love the staff here. First, the lasagna was hard in the middle. Some of the noodles were hard, and overcooked, and some of the meat inside was burnt. It had absolutely no flavor. The chicken Alfredo-- all three of them-- was dry. We asked for more sauce, but it was still dry. The noodles were hard, and the pieces of chicken were super hard. It lacked salt and flavor. We couldn't even eat it. The chicken piccata, when it first came out, I knew it was wrong. On top, there were three battered pieces of chicken with no sauce, and the angel hair noodles had no sauce and lots of water at the bottom because they didn't drain the pasta. There were no capers, no lemonade, no sauce. I had to send it back. The same goes for the veal piccata-- it was just three pieces of fried meat with waterlogged noodles and no sauce. The chicken cacciatore also had heavily breaded chicken. The chicken and broccoli had a little more sauce and less dryness, but the noodles were really heavy. Basically, this was a bust and a complete waste of money. If it wasn't for seeing my family, this place was awful. I told my dad to have everything sent back and not pay for it, but he was nice. We did send back the chicken piccata and veal piccata because it was disgusting. Even the waitress said that this wasn't right-- it was supposed to have a creamy sauce, but it was watered down by the noodles. My family always eats chicken Alfredo and isn't very picky, but my sister-in-law didn't eat any of hers because it was absolutely disgusting.
