We've lived in the Plymouth/Canton area for 20+years and have frequented Compari's probably 70 times. The service has almost always been spot on, however, the food quality has gone downhill in the last two or three years, especially the Risotto entrees! The Calamari Steak entree is delicious, however(as is the sauteed with algio olio option). Have gotten takeout from Compari's a few times now as well as dining in recently with my dad for his birthday. It's a great location with an excellent patio and view of the park - as my boyfriend has commented, it "shows well", which I completely agree with. Service has been mixed. One time upon getting takeout there were weirdly insistent that I fill out the tip line on the receipt (I don't tip for takeout generally) in kinda a rude way. When dining in however, service was excellent - constant refills of water, good pacing of apps/entrees, really just perfect all around. I usually order a kids meal for takeout (my dirty little secret) and the prices/portions/value are good. Most recently upon dining in I had the capellini and thought it was unexciting but solid. I really do like how they offer a choice of soup or salad with an entree; I had the salad (good) and my dad had the soup (excellent). The free bread basket is also a nice touch although they need way more of a balsamic/oil ratio - it's like 95% oil. My dad had one of the pasta specials and it was to die for. I cannot give this place enough stars for the service,food and the whole vibe. This place was packed!!!!! Make reservation no matter how many people you are. All entrees come with a choice of soup or salad. The appetizer was phenomenal. Portions are huge. Honestly I think I'll probably go back and try all the appetizers they have. My friends and I met here for lunch. The interior of the place had a dark and heavy atmosphere. It might have been inviting if you wanted the vibe, but it was a beautiful late summer day so we opted for outdoor dining. It was the right choice. We ended up staying 3 hours eating, talking and laughing. The wait staff was friendly and efficient, and we never felt pressured to leave. I ate a light lunch which consisted of soup and salad. The Chicken Pastina Soup was on the salty side, and the House Salad had tender greens that had seen better days. It's probably unfair to judge a restaurant on this small sampling of its menu, but missing the mark on these simple things makes me question the quality of the rest of the menu. read more

Date of visit Saturday 12/27/25 Our friends made a reservation for 6 people in the main restaurant, it was made day-of, and 5:45pm was the available time. Our friends really wanted it in the original area, but know that there was an additional space that was opened up to accommodate more guests, and it looked really nice too! I feel like we got very lucky with a curved booth / table combo that was perfect for 6 people. The table was ready right on time, and the waitress was very attentive. This place is SO CHARMING! No wonder it was busy. I think the prices were very reasonable for the charm, service, and high quality food - when compared to any other Italian restaurant in the area. We started with arancini & mussels - both delicious. My white clam linguini was out of this world - and all entrees started with a fresh salad or soup. I had the house salad and it was perfect. Note - I actually split my pasta with a friend, and for only $6 they plated it separately and we each got our own salad. That was a really convenient... given we were going out afterwards and we were not looking for leftovers. All the servers and staff were very respectful and accommodating. They were short staffed so the wait was a little long, but Jeff made it up to us and gave us some stuff on the house. Comparis is one of my favorite Go Tos in Plymouth. They usually (except for winter) have an outdoor patio tat is so nice to sit at or you can sit inside. Last year I held a surprise party for my friend in there. The service is always top notch, like seriously the best wait staff, cooks and bartenders. It is always very clean and the food is delicious. I love the caprese salad it's my fav. You have to find parking either in the lot behind or you can use the gathering etc. definitely a nice place to grab dinner or lunch or even just meet up with friends for drinks. read more

Really cute spot. Nice menu selection, especially the assortment of pastas. The eggplant parmesan was excellent- crispy, rich in flavor, awesome portions. The tortellini was OK- the blush sauce was excellent, but I prefer a more tender noodle. I think the pasta tends to be al dente here, so if you prefer another preparation style make it known. I'll remember that for next time! The iced tea was really fresh and tasty, and the deserts were bomb all around. Service this time was a bit slow, we went on a Friday night, so it was pretty busy, but we had to flag our server down for water, then for the bill and bill pickup. We came here for dinner to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday, not realizing that the Plymouth Ice Festival ( visited Feb 1st) was going on. We were told the wait was 45min for a table for 2. We put our name in, walked around the park for a while and came back and waited in the vestibule, which has a window looking into the restaurant/bar area. We waited for well over an hour and noticed that people who put their name in after us, were seated before us. There was a couple who seemed to think that they were quite special, and acted as if they knew everyone there, were given what seemed preferential treatment and given a booth. Another couple had enquired about that booth before them, but they said it was reserved (for the big shots who knew the staff). My boyfriend finally asked when we would get a table, we were tired of standing in the cold vestibule. They seemed to have overlooked our name. We were sat at the first table (which was freezing cold everytime the door opened). The tables were so cramped. I was quite annoyed that there was a large table (actually 4- 2 tops pushed together) that Sat empty for at least 40 min. They could have split those tables up and sat 4 groups of 2. The seating assignments were terrible, 2 people sitting at a 4 top. Our server was sweet, but absent minded. She would forget why she came to the table, look confused and would leave and come back and ask us what we wanted. Her name is Nikki. We ordered the roasted garlic bulbs as an app, listed as "goat cheese, roasted red peppers and toast points" the garlic wasn't roasted enough, the cloves were tough and were not spreadable, infact it bent the little spoon trying to do so. I couldn't believe how little roasted red pepper was on the plate. Disappointed with this app, which we barely started when our salad and soup came to the table. Did I mention that the table is tiny? We had the bread basket, the bread was nice by the way, our app and our soup and salad, plus our glasses. Maybe 5 minutes later, they bring out our entrees!!!! We still haven't finished the lackluster app, nor our soup or salad!!! Crazy, the tiny table was already so full. We had them take our unfinished plates of salad and the app, so that there was room for our entrees. The soup was chicken pasting and was fine, nothing special. I had a few bites of my salad, it was just ok. I ordered camellia more with shrimp. The shrimp were cooked well, the pasta dish was sort of bland, there were so many tomatoes in it, too many tomatoes really. My boyfriend ordered the mushroom risotto, it was pretty good. Started off with mussels - they were quite large but tender and the marinara sauce was fantastic. The table bread and oil also nice. Our waiter nicely spaced out appetizer and entrees of chicken Parmesan and linguine pescatore. The salad and house dressing was great as was the chicken soup my partner had. Actually, the chicken soup was AMAZING. The linguine was nice Al dente, scallops were cooked well with nice flavor, as were the shrimp and mussels (again). I went with the classic chicken Parmesan since the marinara in our appetizer was so good and it did not disappoint. The chicken cutlet was nicely breaded and fried, great char on it too. Cheese wasn't overdone and neither was the sauce. Highly recommend. We have passed by this place hundreds of times but this was our first evening dining there. It was super busy per usual but this was a Friday evening and the ice festival as well. We were pleasantly surprised when they overestimated the wait and managed to seat us within 30 minutes. Food was good. We got the chicken parmesan and compari's special. They have huge servings. The calamari was unique, it was chunkier than the typical calamari and came with a tasty sauce.The pomegranate margarita was a bit bitter but the old fashioned was made to perfection. The servers were nice. This place is clean, has outdoor seating, and accommodates reservations. I would definitely recommend getting a reservation because it gets busy even on weekdays. read more

So, if you are a generic American, this might be for you. However, if you like actual Italian food, go somewhere else. For our three main dishes, two were so salty, we could not eat them. One was not seasoned at all--spaghetti sauce should have herbs and garlic. I had the special and I couldn't eat it because of the salt, but also because it was a greasy pile of nothing. Literally just a bowl of grease. I will say that the Caprese salad was excellent, so the rest of the meal was extremely disappointing. We stopped in for lunch after being in Plymouth for a walk and the scarecrow festival, very creative scarecrows to see. We had a very nice lunch. The staff was attentive during the meal. Our group had steak salad, a prime rib sandwich, pear and goat cheese flat bread, a Sicilian calzone and a kids pizza and a kids grilled cheese. All of us were happy with our food. A couple of minor complaints. The prime rib sandwich cans out much later than the rest of the meals. The staff gave our son a cup of soup to apologize. Came here last night on a double date. We had a reservation and were seated promptly....in the restaurant next door. Apparently they use the Fiamma space as overflow. I don't even know if the other restaurant was even open. Kind of odd, but it was okay. We felt a bit excluded from the action since the overflow area wasn't full. It wasn't the feel I was going for when I picked a place. Service and food were great, as it has been on past visits. Not my favorite Italian in downtown Plymouth, but still a solid spot. They really should just eliminate Fiamma. It never seems to be open. It's one of the top locations in the downtown area and it's really underutilized. There's so much potential there. read more

There were some great features, mainly, our waiter with an Irish name I cannot recall. The hostesses were rude, and I tried to reserve a week ahead on Open Table. It was not working. So we figured they must take walk ins also. They acted as though we were insane. So, Garlic bulbs and Goat Cheese appetizer was amazing, but the Calamari was such an outstanding surprise! Loved it! The chicken picatta had a nice amount of mushrooms, capers, and artichoke hearts. The chicken was fork-tender. Delicious. We split that and a penny dish called Compari pasta. It said penne with Italian sausage and peppers. I did not get why, as it was meat sauce using sausage, and very little peppers. They did give our 2 birthday guests free dessert. Compari's on the Park is an Italian restaurant in beautiful downtown Plymouth. The atmosphere is intimate and romantic, and the service is friendly. The food, however, is hit or miss. The Potato Gnocchi with Pesto is a good choice. I ordered it with blackened chicken and enjoyed my dish. The light and pillowy gnocchi tasted homemade. My friend did not like the Fettuccini. I tried my friend's dish and found it to be very bland and would have returned it for something else. I would not recommend ordering this dish. I am not opposed to returning to Compari's, but I will either order the gnocchi again or read Yelp reviews before I go for specific recommendations. read more

I've never had a bad meal here. The atmosphere is good, booths are Way better than tables. But I recommend going there not at busy times (weekends) because otherwise you're going to be at a table and they don't have enough servers when they're super busy. It's one of my favorite restaurants, that I don't get to often enough. I normally get the steak bites and they come with toasted (really good) bread that look like crostinis, but are soo much better. And stated we cannot refund you because "you made the mistake". How in the world did I make a mistake when the person who took the order asked for the address? Manager was completely unprofessional and telling me that the girl who took the order told me there was no delivery. So I asked, are you telling me that I'm lying? And then she continued telling me to stop yelling or "I'm going to hang up on you " and continued to state we cannot refund you. I was not yelling. Enjoyed a nice Michigan winter day by a warm fire pit with my love. We enjoyed a nice lunch and some warm cocktails too. It was the Plymouth Ice Festival this weekend and so nice to see so many people warming around. Most restaurants have seating inside, but if you can deal with the cold, you can get a seat pretty quickly. With the sun shining and our fire pit, it wasn't too bad. My husband ordered the Michigan salad with chicken and I ordered the pear and Gorgonzola flatbread. Nice lunch, not too heavy. I tried a hot cocktail special, the oatmeal cookie. It's a coffee drink with cinnamon whiskey and Baileys. Super yummy and very filling. We sat in front of Fiamma, but all outdoor seating is Comparis. To enter either restaurant, we were required to go through the entrance of Comparis. Not sure if that's the norm, but if you're not able to get into Fiamma, try Comparis. read more

Our visit to Compari's was a disappointment. First, the Coke and Sprite my husband orders were terrible. It's never a good sign when you can see through a Coke. We got the baked garlic bulb appetizer. It was good, with 2 full garlic bulbs and a little bowl of goat cheese. These are then spread over pieces of buttered toast. I wasn't overwhelmed enough to order this again. I ordered the Veal Parmesan, and was not impressed. The veal itself was tender and cut thin. No problem there. However, the coating of breading was so thin as to be almost nonexistent. I like a crisp, seasoned coating. This wasn't it. The sauce tasted like plain tomato sauce out of a can. Stopped in for a carry out on a Sunday afternoon and when I arrived home over (over 10 miles away), I opened my spaghetti with cheese on top. I was shocked, there was barely any sauce and the cheese was charred to the point of being edible. The staff was overwhelmed and walking around looking lost. The manager was yelling at people until I would look his way then he'd give me a false smile. I have been coming here since they opened and it used to be my favorite restaurant in Plymouth but boy has it gone down in quality and up in price....
