They renovated and everything is much nicer inside. Area is much bigger and modern. They have indoor seating with a huge covered patio and a playground for kids. Over the years their quality, flavor and good customer service has remained consistent. They treat you like family. I love that they offer a dish called Tipiquito it is a smaller version of the traditional Colombian dish known an 'Bandeja Paisa'. Not all Colombian restaurants offer this smaller version. I am happy to share about my experience when I helped coordinate a work event to feature Colombian food and I secured a catering order with Gran Colombia! They were quick to help me over the phone, they answered all my questions, they were willing to make the drive to memorial area to deliver the food. Every single step to complete the order was so easy and received the best customer service. Everyone was very happy with the food and service. I will always recommend Gran colombia! It is a must try! It was wonderful to see the original owner back doing what he does best. The food was absolutely outstanding. I am Cuban so I should know. Every dish was fresh, flavorful and prepared to meet the standards. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the service made us feel right at home. We are beyond thrilled to have them back and have some real Cuban cuisine in the neighborhood. The server gave me a side dip which added some spice to the meal however, before putting it on, I ate some without the dip and it was very flavorful. Potatoes, rice and beans are a large part of Peruvian cuisine all of which I tasted here all of which were very, very good. We got basically a sampler tray which included ceviche beef, chicken, and a potato bean combination, which was just wonderful. The waiter was kind enough to point it out to us and I'm glad he did because it was a great overview of what Peruvian food is. Since I'm not familiar with the cuisine rather than spend a great deal of time addressing it what I'm going to tell you is, it is a wonderful restaurant, the service is equally wonderful, BYOB and enjoy yourself. Our server was very nice and wasn't overly attentive. When my soup came out I was pretty excited since this was just a cup sized of what I had on my visit to the OG location. Sadly, the soup was just broth. There was no chicken or veggies in the cup. When my entree came out, I also fell flat. The steak was not seasoned at all and I had to ask for chimichurri sauce. It also was over cooked for a medium and quite tough. Unfortunately we left pretty bummed out and didn't even bother checking out the baked goods before we left.
