By chance we came across this mom n pop cafe and were completely floored.
The outside has a tropical theme. There are a couple of tables outside but they were taken when we arrived. We seated ourselves just inside the open air part of the cafe. We were promptly greeted with a huge smile from the peppiest, friendliest waitress we have met in Barcelona.
We were surprised when we received the menu. With the decorative theme of the restaurant, we were expecting an average food experience. That was the farthest things from the truth. The menu was highly creative with a variety of toasts, eggs, pancakes, and french toast options that were not only unique, but were visual works of art as well.
I had the honey pancakes, my wife had the ricotta toast, and my son had the chicken montadito sandwich. The tenderness and heat of the food made it evident that the food is cooked from scratch on order.
Long story short, we returned later for tapas and desert and will plan to go at least one more time before leaving Barcelona. read more
