I found my fave place in Stroudsburg yet! Even though their back yard made me wet* Sammi bolted away But their Chef saved the day So three cheers for the Cafe Duet! *not in a good way yo What a delightful little place! And they had a garden out back for dogs and even though it was raining cats and dogs I made the stupid decision to take my beautiful little Sammi girl on her first morning outside New York City as a tiny baby into the Dog Garden to eat with me. Up to this point she had been very Delta Airline chill (I'm not sure what Delta Airline Chill is, my voice dictation made it up, I meant to say Docile And Chill but I like the VD version better) and had not tried to run away. Ew, I wonder if Delta Airlines serves Chili. I bet Delta Airline Chili sucks. But I guess the excitement of being outside was a little bit too much for her. So she went a little psycho on me and decided to run away. She heard a loud noise and bolted into the bushes and was gone. This was very traumatic for me as I had thought I was taking good care of her but all it took was a loud noise from one of the neighbouring houses or businesses and she bolted off the bench where she had been chilling out right next to me, with my hand on her, and disappeared into the woods. I thought I would never see my little Sammi again. I thought I had f***ed up so bad. I was so angry with myself. I felt like the worst Daddy in the world. I was trying not to cry (shut up). I was probably never going to forgive myself. And then after that half an hour of searching the chef from the cafe came to join me in the search. He abandoned his post and let the orders pile up (I'm not even kidding) and decided to help me look. There were lots of waitresses but I guess they didn't want to get wet. The chef dude though? He was like f*** it let's find her, and he came out and helped me. And he is the one that found my perfect Sammi hiding in the corner of the tall grass in the backyard at Cafe Duet. I swear she hadn't been there before because I had checked. She was nowhere on the property. And he found her. So Barbie, Sammi, Boba, Harley, Lychee, Mochi and I owe the chef here everything. I gave him a nice handsome tip to say thank you. We're talking a big juicy $10 bill. I will never forget his generosity with his time and effort. As for the sandwich itself I liked it and it wasn't bad and I saved half of it for my landlord that prefers this kind of thing to me. Literally. Honestly if it wasn't for the wonderful cat experience and how amazing the chef was I'm not sure if it would have been a 4 or 5, and I didn't get to try it hot, but as it stands he earned a five-star and then some so thank you very much for saving the day my friend. What a cute coffee shop in Stroudsburg! My friend and I came here while on a mini-vacation to the Poconos and had a great breakfast. We both ordered drip coffee, which hit the spot on the cool fall morning. I ordered the Roasted Mushroom + Smoked Gruyere Sandwich (with baby arugula on a fresh-baked croissant). HOLY COW, it was so good. The croissant just melted in my mouth. My friend got the Farmhouse Baked Eggs and enjoyed them as well. Just a note for ordering the baked eggs - they take approximately 20 minutes. The space is larger than you'd think when you walk in - keep walking through doorways and you'll find several rooms to grab a table in. Cute, simple little cafe to match the quaint surrounding area in Pennsylvania - glad we happened upon this spot! My friends and I spontaneously decided to drive over from New Jersey on a Saturday morning (where we were for a wedding, but why do you care since you're just curious about this cafe's food, right? lol) and were pleasantly surprised to discover Stroudsburg, PA - almost European vibes, with a small farmer's market happening nearby. At Cafe Duet, you order at the outdoor window and seat yourself either at one of the few tables in front, or in the adorable patio in the back. Food was pretty simple but good - I got the roasted mushroom and gruyere croissant sandwich (light, tasty, well balanced - the arugula was a nice touch). Unfortunately, they messed up my friend's order of the Duet Belgian waffle and it ended up taking at least 30 min before she finally got the correct food, which she noted was fine but nothing special. I noticed her waffle was not served with any maple syrup, but just a light drizzle of honey and some other toppings. If you're into healthier, lighter versions of what is often a sugar-crash-inducing breakfast, you might like their version of Belgian waffles. Coffee was also pretty decent here. Aside from the order mix-up and wait time, we enjoyed our breakfast here. Worth checking out at least once! read more

Yikes! Came in for breakfast, and what a huge disappointment. The pastries in the window look fair enough, but looks can be deceiving. The one I tried (caramel muffin) was stale, old, dense, tough, and inedible. It was likely the worst I've ever had, and it went straight into the trash where it belongs. Most cafes make fresh muffins, scones, etc in the morning. It's not that hard. Those are the things that make cafes memorable and beg your customers to come to back again and again. That is not the case here, at Cafe Duet. The breakfast sandwich I had was lazy and tasteless. The bread was stale and not very appetizing. The chorizo sausage was old, tough, and dense, and it was also unedible. This also ended up in the trash where it belonged. This cafe needs to do some serious soul-searching. The ones who are leaving 4/5 reviews likely don't know what a good cafe or good food is, and that is sad. Ownership and management need to change their lazy ways or this place won't be around long. I definitely won't ever be back based on today's experience. Step it up, that was absolutely pathetic. read more

I came here on a bit stop for breakfast on a short trip in the Poconos during COVID. No seating inside, but there is limited seating in the front and back. The front is right out in the sun, so pretty hot in the summer. The back is very cozy and shaded, but a bit hard to socially distance. We decided to just take ours to go. We got a cold brew coffee, the mushroom and greyuere croissant, and the breakfast sandwich. All were excellent, I highly recommend the mushroom croissant. Very unique and I've never had a breakfast sandwich like that before! A bit pricey but worth it. Add a fried egg too! Highly recommend this place for some quick breakfast :) read more

Popped by for a "quick" bite as we were on our way out of the area. Turned into anything but a quick stop as the place was busy during lunchtime on Memorial Day. Unfortunately, they ran out of a few key ingredients so several of the items on the menu were not available. This was a theme for us this weekend as other places in the area told us the same thing. I ordered the Mediterranean Chicken Salad Sandwich. It was just okay. A little dry and lacked flavor, to be honest. Tasted "healthy", if anything. The cold tea I ordered was unsweetened and was also not memorable. I get the sense they really specialize in hot drink orders, which I'm sure would have been the better choice, but I just wasn't in the mood for one of those at that time of day. Seating is interesting. Mostly tiny little table located both inside and in the garden seating out back (when the weather is nice enough for al fresco dining) but not at all cut out for groups. Not a complaint, just an observation. "Cute little place", if anything. The food also took quite awhile to be ready. I think this was because they don't really have a sizable staff assembling food. We had a handful of families with us - a few with a grade school age child with them - so our orders really seemed to throw them into a frenzy as most of our orders were not for coffee and pastries. We stumbled upon this little café by ways of Wazes. Everything was super fresh, even in times of Coronavirus. Carrot muffin oh so fresh it was still warm inside, made from real shredded carrot, raisins and coconut flakes. The croissant was flaky and perfectly crumbled. Oatmeal chocolate chip cookie was delicious and I'm not a chocolate chip cookie "person" ( I know... nobody is perfect). Stroudsburg, PA is just west of NJ off of I80, so decided to stop at the Cafe Duet right on the small city circle downtown. This is a great little place for coffee and sandwiches. SUPER small and CUTE cafe in Stroudsburg. We stopped here for a quick meal while driving on our road trip. Initially I wasn't expecting anything more than a sandwich and coffee, but I was so so impressed with the food! I got the roasted mushroom and gruyere cheese sandwich and it was so so good. The mushroom was perfectly diced (I hate it when the mushrooms and thrown in big pieces), and sautéed to perfection. The cheese was glazed and melted so well and was served in a lightly toasted croissant. Literally one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! My friend got the breakfast sandwich, which he loved as well. The fried egg was perfectly cooked - not too runny or too cooked and the chipotle mayo was amazing. My favorite sandwich in town and the only scones I'll eat. The best is the empanadas available on Saturdays at the farmers' market.

A solid Latte no frills here. I had them add honey for a slight sweetness and it was just a well made latte. If your into caramel or mocha coffees this place ain't it. I will say what they make is quality! I love the atmosphere for sure and would come back if I'm in the area. read more

I ordered the roasted mushroom and smoked gruyere sandwich and an iced tea. I really enjoyed my sandwich! My friends ordered a breakfast sandwich, broccoli rabe, and soup. They both liked their meals, however, we all left feeling like we could eat more. I know their cafe proudly serves fresh and season foods, but adding a bag of chips or other side to the sandwiches could have helped my hunger. Also, adding water stations throughout the cafe would be nice to grab some water when running low on drink. Overall, I really enjoyed Cafe Duet! Okay, random place we found on Yelp and didn't think I'd win with this one...until we walked in. This place is everything we are into and amazing to its core. The main area where you order your coffee is seriously dope. Loved the old mirror with the drinks, sandwiches, and goodies all written on it as well as the block shelves. So cool! Tons of indoor seating as well as out front AND out back. The back courtyard is one of my favorites as well. I loved the windows everywhere and the back door to the patio was wide open. It felt more like home than a place you just go to get coffee. I loved that! Nothing felt rushed and I would have loved to stop in and work for hours there. We decided on a breakfast sandwich and drinks. Lattes weren't flavored so I actually added honey mine and it was PERFECTION (they definitely know what they are doing). Duet is a fixture of weekend visits to the stroudsburg farmers market. Get a nice cold brew coffee or iced coffee to beat the heat as you browse through the produce and baked goods. The cold brew coffee they serve is very concentrated and strong - even with a splash of water or milk it was stronger than I expected it to be. I usually drink coffee black, but a little milk is a good idea here. The menu is wonderful, too - pulled pork kimchi sandwiches? Great baked items too. Definitely avoid skipping it if you visit this weekend. read more

Stopped in for breakfast on Saturday, 5/20/23 located at the Courthouse Square in Stroudsburg, Pa. I was extremely disappointed and disgusted when my husband's waffle had hair embedded in it. He literally had to pull multiple hairs out of his mouth. We asked to speak to the manager and they did not come out to speak to us. They only sent an apology with the cashier. The restaurant refunded only the cost of the waffle. Overall poor customer service and food quality. read more
