This was the first time going and when I walked in , workers were having fun behind the counter, when tables were covered with garbage and plates from other people. I cleared off my own table, so I can sit down. I brought a large Nutella iced coffee. For $7 and was there for about 30 minutes and tables were still dirty. My iced Nutella coffee was ordered because I heard from multiple people that it's their best iced coffee. I thought I was crazy, because my Nutella iced coffee, looked and tasted like iced plain coffee with cream. There was no Nutella or any sweetness at all. I met my daughter and asked her to taste my iced coffee and she said the same thing, it tastes like coffee, cream and ice. No other flavor. For $7 , that's insane. Since it was New Year's Eve, I get the staff was having fun. Just should of made sure tables were cleaned off for new customers to sit and to make coffee the way it should be made, instead of getting confused because you were talking about that evening and what you're all gonna do. They do have a membership, to enter your phone number , and after a certain amount of coffee you get a free cup. I at least got credit for my iced coffee that I couldn't even drink. read more

What a cute place! It's situated in a strip mall off a circle so try not to miss it. The ambiance is warm, they have imported packaged goods, gelato, and they even have a crepe station. Lots of cozy seating or tables if you prefer. The prices are very decent. The place is clean. I really liked it but I do have a two gripes. There was not a lot of baked goods to choose from. We just experienced the worst service EVER!! Waited about 10 minutes for menus, promptly placed orders for 2 drinks and 2 meals. Drink came out timely and after a long wait received one meal. No one ever checked on us or noticed that only one person was eating. I finally asked where the meal was after 30 minutes of being ignored, only to be told there was a mishap and did we still want it. This is ridiculous, not even an apology. The crumb cake was ok, and the lobster tail was stale and had an unexpected cardamom flavor which I usually love, but didn't this time. Outside it is nothing spectacular, and inside other than one cozy corner couch it's a pretty cut and dry coffee place. We found nothing but the coffee and crepes to be fresh here. Everything else is prepared and just assembled here. The pastries are definitely brought in and not made on premises. The coffee was good but the wraps that we had were unremarkable and not worth the price. Had they thrown in a few potato chips or french fries they would have been so much more satisfactory. Just stopped in for my first time- really cute place and nice seating with tables and chairs, but also a comfy couch with a coffee table- even two little tables outside. I just got a snack: a drip coffee and a chocolate almond croissant. The coffee was very good but the croissant, which are homemade every morning, was decadent! So rich and buttery, filled with chocolate and topped with toasted almonds. They even offered to heat it up a little, which made the chocolate like liquid gold! Looking over the menu, I will definitely be back for breakfast and lunch. I saw what other customers were getting as sandwiches and I was drooling!! We are life long locals and just stopped in to Perla. We will definitely be back! The coffee was fresh and wonderful. I had a pumpkin spice latte and was delicious and not overpowering. My wife had a spiced maple iced macchiato and loved it. We also had a power on and veggie quesadilla and they were packed with food and flavor. Inside decor is spot on for this type of business! My best friend and I ate here for lunch one day and overall we had a good time! This café boasts a chic yet cozy atmosphere which appears to reminisce on Eurocentric aesthetics, and provides food options not common in the area. I ate the vegetarian caprese and though it was appetizing, for a vegetarian option I wish it would be more substantial for the price of about 12 dollars. I left still hungry unfortunately and wasn't willing to pay for something else to fill me up. I would perhaps re-visit to try something else however I do wish, given the nature of the ingredients, that the caprese sandwich had more of an emphasis on it's main ingredients, and less emphasis on how much bread and arugula it contained. The food speaks for itself. The paninis are amazing. I have tried half the menu and I'm looking forward to the rest! The menu is limited but everything is worth it. The coffee is fresh and delicious.
