    Passionfruit Green Tea
    Irene L.

Growing up whenever I had bubble waffle cravings, Cafe Eggstatic inside crystal mall was the place to go to. I was soooo happy to hear they opened one close by on Kingsway. This location shares a store with a flower shop which I loved! I loved looking at the pretty flowers while waiting for my food/drink being prepared. I got the mochi bubble waffle and a passionfruit green tea. The bubble waffle was super crispy and had just the right amount of sweetness. The mochi was a definite bonus! The passionfruit green tea tasted great as well! Will definitely keep returning for the bubble waffles and bbt. Where else can you find a bbt shop with drinks under $5 nowadays! Definitely hard to beat!

Pasta perfectly al dente, fresh and flavourful sauce.....wonderful. This is a limited menu eatery, and that's not a bad thing at all--it shows a commitment to not only getting it right, but getting it perfect. A great little local grocer and casual restaurant, Mercato Di Luigi is well worth seeking out. Parking is somewhat limited, since it is located on East 12th, but if you can arrive on foot, all the better. A solid five stars. A simple bowl of perfect pasta just made my day.

It's so cute and quaint, fits maybe 8-10 people, so perfect for a little lunch date or girlfriend chat fest. We ordered lattes ($5), which were delicious, not too milky, definitely good strong espresso. We shared the daily special which was cream asparagus pasta and a mortadella sandwich. Perfect amount for two people. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and tasted so fresh, it had plenty of fresh cheese on top. I found it was a little salty, and a bit dry, but it was still delicious ($21). I will try another pasta next time. The mortadella sandwich ($13) we asked for grilled and it was sooo good. The fresh made foccacia was amazing. It had plenty of mayo and arugula which paired perfectly with the creamy mortadella. They sell plenty of fresh pasta sauces like bolognese, cacio Pepe, truffle cream sauce, along with fresh pasta including gluten free fresh pasta We loved our time here and we will be back!

My friend finally suggested it to me and after having lunch in the area I was able to pass by. I am a sucker for all things pandan so it wasn't hard to make a choice (although the ube latte also spoke loud to me...). It was a good choice, the latte was not too sweet but the flavours just mixed so well together. The workers were helpful in helping my friend decide on what to order. She got the ube latte which I also tried and thought it was delicious as well! The little shop is a order at the counter type situation and there is minimal seating inside. The seating was reminiscent of those little Vietnamese market stalls where you sit around on stools with boxed crates as your table. I'd love to pass by this spot again and give it another try!

All of their pastries I have tried have been great - buttery, flaky, and you can tell they use high quality ingredients. This time around we decided to try the plain crepe with powdered sugar and it was good but nothing amazing so I'd recommend getting a more loaded crepe or sticking to the pastries! The cafe has limited seating inside and some seating outside so I'd recommend coming early if you want to get a seat!

Just like in the movies, this coffee shop is tucked away in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. They have a long menu of delicious, sounding crêpes, as well as pastries, and some unique drinks, including multiple types of London Fog, of which we enjoyed the rose fog. I also had a lavender Matcha, which was super tasty with beautiful latte art on top. The tomato confit and cheese crêpe was delicious as was my pain au chocolat which is my benchmark for how good the pastries are everywhere I go! Really flaky, buttery, but not dripping in butter, with melted chocolate because they keep them in the warmer. There's some seating outside as well as limited seating inside, but early in the morning this is a peaceful place to come. I wish we lived close by so that we could come here every weekend!

This is a order at cashier spot with no table service so they meet my simple expectations for their service with decent politeness, accuracy and efficiency. Plus i find it convenient that they open as early as 7am. Some of my usual purchases here are the matcha drinks, chocolate croissants and earl grey muffins. I give 5 stars to their matcha and I recommend trying their sipping matcha drink if you are a matcha lover like me. They are quite spacious and you can work on your laptop here but it can get busy. It's not my first choice as study/work cafe because I prefer cafes with quiet corners with outlets or relaxing soft music and I find this spot has more of a hipster ambiance and is more ideal as a chill place for hanging out. Hmm, maybe come here to reply work emails but why overwork here when its vibes are set for unwinding ;-) There are side street parking available -- being able to park close by is a plus. Cafes in location with free parking options are the best, so you can buy items to go or you can choose to stay and relax, without the hassles of metered parking expiring and getting parking tickets. This place sells coffee beans and a variety of higher priced merchandise items, in case you need gift ideas or want the luxury of retail therapy for happy vibes.

I actually did some digging and self reflection before writing this as this was some weeks back that I tried to sit with my initials reaction. Popped in around 3pm on a weekday as I was in the area to pick up an americano and some pastries. The 5 minutes that I was around the counter and the interaction between myself and staff (one barista and one cashier) was odd. I made myself sit in a corner to sit with my own feelings post interaction. I'm not going to spend more time ruminating that encounter in detail. However, if one googles the signs and ideology of what a hipster is. I've received pure negative stereotype of a hipster. I found the cashier to me cold and smidge condescending, the barista didn't even acknowledge me, ignored my question and is clearly not deaf or blind when he was calling other patrons drink orders out. This poor Canadian even muttered an accidental thank you when I picked up my drink out of habit. That last one is one me. My 1st world problem of "to be me and be kind to others or straight out be reactionary when put in such situation is going to have me ready for my next battle with a passive aggrissive hipster at their work. ding ding let the battle commence. I'm ready.

Wedge-shaped cafe serving baos, bubble-tea, smoothies and pastries…read more Seating is limited by the wedge-shapes floor-plan of this cafe. You step in the entrance, and it fans out towards the counter. You order on the right, and get served on the left. Seating is mainly along the walls, but as you can imagine, it is a bit awkward the way tables are arranged. Seating is not comfortable, probably to discourage people from loitering around too long. We ordered a croissant, smoothie, ice-cream and a bao. We must've hit a busy rush because it took 15+ minutes for us to get our entire order. The veggie smoothie came out first; it was a tad tart, but that is how I like it. I don't like extra sweetener, and it didn't seem like they added any. The bao came next, and it was okay. Perhaps not dim-sum restaurant quality, but decent for a cafe. I enjoyed that it was filled with a meat patty and egg. Kind of wished that it was served with Worcestershire sauce. A bit pricey. Surprisingly, the croissant took the longest to come out, but it appeared there was a backlog at the toaster station. Many other customers were waiting for toasted goods. The croissant was light and flaky. While I can't be certain it was made in-house, if it was store-bought, I would definitely be surprised. I can't comment on the ice-cream as it was not mine, but I noted that the portion seemed very small for the price we paid. Shrinkflation is real, people. I won't probably go here often, and there are definitely better places for smoothies, ice cream and baos. But, if you need all three at the same time, this is a convenient one-stop-shop.
