My party and I were going to Apple Bee's across the parking lot, but seen this place and decided to eat here. My son ordered fries and chicken strips he had no complaints, but hey how bad can you mess up chicken strips? My sons father ordered a Caesar salad, coke (which was served in the coca cola bottle ghetto,) and fried pork chops. While chit chatting I ask my ex how did his pork chops taste and in unison the word DRY flowed out from the both of us. So thin too. I ordered a small glass of Moscato (the first glass of nasty Moscato I have EVER reluctantly sipped on,) house salad with balsamic vinaigrette (I was given a container of olive oil and a 2nd of plain balsamic vinegar I guess I was supposed to make my own vinaigrette ghetto,) warm salad, and boiled seasoned shrimp. An hour later I begin to have the bubbly guts so even though my taste buds said the shrimp were decent my bowels disagreed and decided to "move" them out of my system. When the waitress checked on us I mentioned to her pointing to the half arse eaten dry jerky meat was TERRIBLE. She cleared our plates and came back and deducted the wine (undercover Thunderbird) from my ex's check. My ex and I both have experienced the food in New Orleans neither of us had the expectations of the real deal, but they need to rid the pretense of Cajun from their title and menu. Nice atmosphere! I'm from Louisiana and I was thrilled to find a Cajun place here. Not near as authentic as New Orleans, but a good option. I like the tilapia, shrimp & grits, and beignets(not exactly like cafe du monde, but yummy!) Staff is super nice. read more

I WANT to love Cafe le Rue! I really do!! I've given them two chances, and the first was better than the last. The owner was friendly and visible on both visits. The cafe itself is charming, but the waitstaff leaves much to be desired. Sadly, on my last visit, there were no beignets (really?), our server left us waiting endlessly, and my fried green tomatoes reminded me much more of onion rings than anything I've savored in NOLA. :( So sad. read more

Coffee was disgusting, eggs Benedict anything but that- English muffin not toasted/ no meat on the Benedict/ eggs over cooked and it was saturated in country gravy. ZERO STARS. I called the morning of to be sure I didn't need to put in a reservation for a party of 6 for a busy time. The person said there was no need. My friend showed up first, requested a table for 6. A lady sat her down at an area for 6. Three more of us showed up and sat with her. A man came out and told us we couldn't have more than 4 in a group. Inconsistency. This rating is not due to this rule, however it's important to point out that we all willingly chose to eat together. Our group turned into 5 after a friend cancelled. We informed it would only be 5. He requested we sit outside in the 40 degree weather. We declined. When asked if we could sit in the standalone booth, he declined. He said he preferred to use a different section of the restaurant for parties larger than 4, and someone was already in that section. So wait... I thought you didn't take groups of more than 4?? Additionally, the section we would have sat at was on a separate side of the restaurant standing alone while his "preferred location" was a wall-long booth with tables of different parties seated next to each other. So the inconsistent rule isn't even following CDC guidelines?! Confusing and the rating is due to his RUDENESS. I was told later he is the owner. I was astounded he would be so rude and honestly STUPID to turn away 5 paying guests supporting a local business during this economic disaster. We tried several ways, but he could not see a clear option. We left sad we didn't get to try the food, having never been. How can we support local as their Instagram proudly stated when there is no accommodations? To top it off, I spoke with someone who personally had a party larger than 4 two weeks prior to that. We went to metro diner who gladly took us 5 and served us without rudeness. Being nice gets you a long way, maybe even needing a reservation to eat at this restaurant on a weekend night. read more

So I asked the very nice server if the way they are prepared is the way they are normally prepared and if she had tasted them. She said she was going to call "him" out to our table and that she had not tasted them. I assumed she meant the manager but when she came back out, she said he had gone already and he had fixed them himself. Best Cajun restaurant in Columbus, GA! Hands down! After visiting New Orleans, this is the only restaurant that has an authentic taste of New Orleans. I love that it is nice and intimate. We were the only one in this place until about 6pm, then it started to get packed. The service was fine, nobody was really rude. If you are looking for fine dinning, this is not the place. This place is amazing!!!! I had the sampler of the jambalaya, gumbo, and red beans and rice. Also, I ordered the shrimp po-boy and the peach bread pudding. OMG!!! I was in Cajun heaven!!! I had no idea what to order, so I ordered the sampler to have a taste of everything. I'm also a sucker for bread pudding and am very picky about bread pudding. Boy was this place a hit!!! I tried this based upon the commercial that made it look so good. Walking through the door the place is small and after getting a menu we almost got up and left when we saw the prices. I was expecting a good selection of authentic Cajun food what I was presented was barely what I would personally call a selection. We decided to stay and give it a chance. I am not going to go into details of what items we had gotten. I just don't see the point. The food was okay at best ( I mean really mine was covered in garlic and butter so that's what I was tasting) and if you order coke it's served in a bottle. No fountain here so no refills if it gets a bit hot or spicy. To tell you the truth I am suspicious of the meal being microwaved (Gordon Ramsey would not be pleased).
