Well i have never been to this restaurant, and boy i am kicking my-self. i thought its gonna be another ho-hum place that's just gonna be on the way side...however BIG mistake! i was partying it up at SteepleChase all day today, and i met the owner vikus, who is also the chef and dishwasher-his claim! LOL...but seriously great food! really impressed with the it. they served our party and the service was top notch. everything was set up on time and after the party it was all cleared and done! dint even lift a finger. I've already booked him to cater another party coming up soon! small definitely not steeple chase big! but i am willing to bet anything that the food would be even better in the restaurant! and everyone at our stand had nothing but good things to say. so i guess don't judge the book by its cover-really hold some water. try it out and don't do the same mistake i did.... read more

This place was not what I expected at ALL. My boyfriend and I went there for Sunday brunch and the service and food was TERRIBLE.... first we waited over 5mins before someone actually greeted and tell us we can sit anywhere. We order the hush puppies as appetizers which took over 30mins. The actual food took even longer. The shrimp and grits was trash, the shrimp was just steamed, ugh... the eggs were pretty much microwave and the $2 mimosas was a joke. NEVER AGAIN.. read more

I always enjoy going to Cafe La Rue; it is often where I go after Mass on Sunday's. Barbara always greets my family and I with a smile. She is always efficient and pleasant. We have gotten to know Her and she knows what we enjoy. The food is always great; we like to start with their crab dip. We also enjoy their brunch and evening menus. I was waited on by Hannah and had the filet with the coleslaw and fries...and man, did that hit the spot! I think what was my favorite part of this meal was their homemade tartar sauce, which was very mild and accompanied the catfish perfectly. It was a wonderful experience, and being able to once again return to this fixture of Columbus. Five stars for wonderful service and delicious catfish...and all the sides that came with the filets. She left and came back with a small bowl of refried beans and said we could have these even though it didn't come with beans. We just went with it. By the end of dinner my other guest wanted to resolve the issue with the manager. A young lady who literally appeared to be about 12 or 13 came and told us it didn't come with beans and there is a small amount of beans in it. My guest said that the menu was misleading at best and not really fair to the customer. The manager girl said that was the way it is and the have a nice day. The food was not bad, the southwest egg rolls were fantastic. We will never go back and I will tell every single person I can to not go here. I'd rather have a great experience with mediocre food than be treated like a dummy. Maybe it was because we were an interracial couple but I don't want to go there. This was my second time there. The first time we had a mixup with our drink. Neither then nor this visit did we want a discount, refund or compensation, just a simple fix they couldn't handle.
