Have you ever had something so good you literally​ wanted to slap yo momma??? well,​ thank GOD my momma wasn't with me that day! lol This place is definitely​ a hidden gem, I've​ passed​ by it so many times and I'm​ kicking myself for it. The restaurant​ is really small and has limited parking, most people park across the street. Now before I get started I'm​ just gonna tell you, get there early! I mean as soon as they open because they sell out quick...​ I mean with food that good its quite understandable​. Also,​ food is cooked fresh, so prepare to wait a little bit but trust me its worth it... and the portions they give you are so generous​. When I go I normally get baked chicken, stuffing, mac and cheese, and collard greens. The baked​ chicken is beyondddddd moist, juicy and flavorful​. The mac and cheese made me wanna go back to the kitchen and see if my grandma was working there... the collard greens were cooked just right! and the stuffing​ made me feel like I was having Thanksgiving​ dinner. Hands down the best southern/comfort food in the Columbus/Phenix City area. There are specials everyday. Wednesday Tacos and Thursday Meatloaf are flawless. Fried chicken is excellent, made to order. If there was a drawback, it's you have to order your food as soon as it opens or you have to wait a whole week to get it again. The ladies in the front of the house make you feel like family. This place is so delicious. They make their food fresh to order which is different from most soul food restaurants who make things in huge portions for the day. Juicy and delicious is what you can expect. The service is always friendly and welcoming. There are a lot of good Soul Food restaurants out there, but in my opinion, Lily B Rose's is the best in the Phenix City, AL / Columbus, GA area. It doesn't taste like restaurant soul food, but it actually tastes like it was made with love in Mama's or Grandma's kitchen! I eat there religiously and I am NEVER disappointed! This place is amazing. Ate here for the first time yesterday and the food was so good. I had oxtails, mac&cheese, and collard greens. I also tried the beef tips, rice and gravy. This is by far the best soul food place around. The staff was professional, service was prompt, I can't say enough about the food. Good giggley wiggley..... This is good food.... Warning don't even come in if your not hungry ! Had the meatloaf rice and gravy with cornbread. Also had pinto beans and Mac and cheese. Horrible customer service! I hate to leave a negative review but I'm so frustrated! I try to patronize a black-owned business but this one fits the unfortunate stereotype that comes with blacks having a business. And that's no business sense. I tried calling ahead, for times sake and was placed on hold and they never came back to the phone. Lack of communication from the person on the register, I see someone sitting on "break", near the phone. Then someone talks to me and gets animated and explains to me that it's not the first time someone's complained about the phone, I guess they really don't care. It takes 2 minutes to place an order. It's hurting someone else's business, and if it was the person I was talking too, it explains it all. When you have a business, you depend on customers. Why would you act as if it's not important to have great customer service? I don't see this issue with any other race. Couldn't leave a review about the food because I chose not to spend my money with them. Hopefully they'll continue to stay open and work on their customer service like the other nationalities that know how important customer service and a positive experience is to a businesses growth, especially during these times. I think we may have just found a new favorite in the area! The food was absolutely amazing. We had to wait about 15 minutes for it, but it was worth the wait. My husband and I both had the fried chicken (white meat). You have a choice of either three wings or a breast. We both chose the wings, and they were much larger than either of us expected! They were fried and seasoned to perfection, extra crispy (just the way we like!). For sides, you get two options. I chose mac and cheese and lima beans, and my husband chose mac and cheese and turnip greens. The lima beans were a tad salty but still good, nonetheless. Otherwise, everything was great! The cost was $7.99 for each of us and included a drink. The sweet tea is awesome! We added on peach cobbler for dessert. It was not the greatest but certainly decent. I would try it again. If you're in the area, definitely give them a try. They provide excellent service and delicious soul food at a great price! read more
