Super cute and peaceful little coffee house! Came in and we were greeted by smiling face behind the counter, we ordered at the counter and then sat outside as we had our puppy! Drinks came out first all made well and everyone in our party enjoyed! I'm genuinely sad to write this review--I truly wanted to give this place another five stars. I hope the cafe takes this feedback to heart because this area really needs a great restaurant and coffee shop, and this spot has so much potential. The location is beautiful--right on the water--with a cozy, inviting interior that makes you want to stay a while. I've been here before, and my first visit left a better impression. The coffee was great that time, and I was excited to return. Unfortunately, my second visit didn't live up to the first. We ordered three coffees: the Snickerdoodle, Honey Bee, and Bean Redeem. All of them were overwhelmingly milk-forward with very little actual coffee flavor. The Snickerdoodle, which was supposed to have cinnamon notes, tasted mostly like vanilla and caramel. The Honey Bee didn't taste quite right, and the Bean Redeem lacked the white chocolate and toffee flavors advertised--it just came across as more vanilla. As for the food, we tried a variety: the biscuits and gravy, Sunrise Supreme, the Classic, and the Reg. Sadly, nothing stood out. The Reg and Classic were okay but lacked seasoning or anything memorable. The biscuits and gravy reminded us of the older McDonald's version--definitely not homemade. The Sunrise Supreme came on mini biscuits that were dry, and the sandwiches overall were just average. A recurring issue we noticed was that a lot of the items seemed prepackaged. The baked goods in the case looked like they came from Sam's Club. If the coffee had been excellent, we could have overlooked that--but with both the drinks and food falling flat, it's hard to justify a return visit right now. That said, I really want to see this place thrive. There's a great opportunity here to make it special: seasonal menus, house-made syrups, stronger flavor profiles in the coffee, and maybe even partnerships with local roasters and bakers. Showcasing fresh, local ingredients and dialing in the coffee recipes could turn this into a true gem. Mixed feelings about this one. I'm giving them middle of the road but see potential. We're a bit pickier about things and could see others giving a higher score. Recently neighbors mentioned they tried Cafe Lucia and liked it, so when my spouse suggested we go out for breakfast today, thought we'd give it a try. Cafe Lucia is out on SE Sunset Harbor Rd in the Summerfield / Weirsdale area, close to 441/27 just north of The Villages. I understand they opened July '23, so it's still not a well known destination. Walked in and were impressed with the open feeling to dining room. There's a chalkboard menu on the wall behind the main counter, but no descriptions to items. Server said we were to place order at counter and then they'd bring food to us. Fortunately the other employee on duty gave us menus we could take to peruse before placing order. Good selection of breakfast and lunch items. And several people stopped in just for coffees. We ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches and a coffee - cost was $17+ before tax and tip - oh, you pay when you order and pos machine wants you to add tip (before you've really had a chance to try anything, AND the tip is figured out on the taxed total, not the food - just a major pet peeve of mine) Food came out almost immediately after ordering, which makes me think it's more an assembly line of precooked food that are then put together and reheated (think your chain burger joints, food cooked a bit earlier that day, then kept in warmer, and then put together when ordered). But even with that said, the food was good. One of us had The Reg (bacon, cheese & egg croissant) and the other The Classic (spinach, tomato, cheese, egg croissant). Everything tasted good and fresh though. Sandwiches were served on a small metal serving platter. No liner underneath food; directly on platter. We were not given any silverware (even plastic) nor napkins. Had to ask for them. Also, according to signage, all breakfast sandwiches are served with a side of fruit - we didn't get any, nor did I see any on other breakfast sandwiches served to others this morning. Mentioned it to staff as we were finishing our meal and she offered us a to go cup, but since we were done, said no. Cafe Lucia has numerous dining set ups, from table and chairs, to lounge areas, even counter with computer charging cords available. There's a kids play area (toddler) and nice sized bathrooms. Continue towards the lake and there's a screen porch with tables and lounge areas and then even more tables outdoors under a sun screen. They're on the tip of a small canal leading out to Lake Weir (can't see lake due to bend in canal), but the area was very quiet and had old Florida feel to it. Because it was quiet, calm, and food was good, even with my personal peeves, I can see us returning to Cafe Lucia in the future and suggesting it to friends and family. read more

Stopped in to get some food. I have a Service dog and immediately they said that the service dog has to remain on the floor. It's a very small dog and he needs to alert me by smelling my skin and my breath. I explained that I have shoes, socks, and pants on he can't smell my skin through clothing. It has to be from the waist up. She was very rude, nasty, unprofessional, her long, greasy red hair went along with her attitude. ADA- service dogs do NOT have be on the floor. Being that I was in a hurry I left. I didn't call law-enforcement, to teach this ignorant person the law. read more

I stopped by here for lunch on my way through town because of the high ratings. It is clean and the employee was very nice, definitely well cared for. I ordered the turkey sandwich they have on the menu and iced coffee. The iced coffee was solid and the sandwich was a tasty but very small. I think there was only 1 slice of turkey on it. I ate it in about 8 bites. I would ask for extra meat if you choose this spot. read more

I'm from one of the biggest cities in the nation and this cafe rivals most! Seriously THE BEST cafe I have been to in this area in the last 20 years. No exaggeration. My grandparents relocated to The Villages back in 1999 and I've been visiting since the beginning. Cafe Lucia is beyond cute, it is clean, it has quality food and coffee.. it's just all around epic. Absolutely outstanding!! I've seen the staff get SLAMMED with unprompted and rowdy "mom's clubs" and knock out like 20 coffee flights while never losing their cool nor negating unrelated customers who were lost in the chaos. I've NEVER had a bad breakfast sandwich.. food has been fantastic Every. Single. Time. EVERY single person that works there has been so genuinely friendly!! You all are so gracious and kind! But today... today is super dreary and rainy and Savannah was a blast to interact with while I rushed in to grab something quick. It's just always such a good experience and today is another example. This is a cute little eatery at the lake. We stumbled across this cafe one morning after medical appointments. My wife had a breakfast sandwich and I had the omelet. Both were tasty. We also had tots coffee and cinnamon roll. Cost A bit too pricey for what we received. Flavor Tasted good. Serving/portion Appropriate. My omelet was a 2 egg omelet, which is appropriate. I prefer a 3 egg omelet but that's nitpicking. It also came with a piece of toast, which I've never been to a place that only provides a single piece of toast with an omelet so this was a first. Staff Friendly. Cleanliness Clean tidy little spot. Bottom line: Despite burning the roof of my mouth on the cinnamon roll (it was microwaved and it stuck to the roof of my mouth and burnt it pretty bad), the place was clean and cute and the coffee was decent. Today my other half and our two pups found Cafe Lucia Lake Weir for brunch. We loved It's charming and casual atmosphere nestled in a moss covered oak lined residential street. The owner, Savannah and her welcoming team treated us and everyone there as adored family members. Cafe Lucia oozes a chill vibe that is hard to find. There's an outside covered deck that overlooks a set of docks on Lake Weir. It also has a beautiful screened-in dining area and an indoor casual dining room with some counter seating. Their food is unpretentiousness, fresh, and excellent. My husband had a tasty breakfast sandwich with a side of bbq mayo that was perfection. However, above our great breakfast was one of the best crafted specialty coffees I've had. That's saying a lot too since I moved here from a state that coffee is literally a cultural icon. In itself.
