Most of the food was nicely presented, except for my caramel coffee, which arrived with caramel drizzle running down the outside of the cup. Hmmm - we have been looking for good breakfast places. This is a bit of a drive for us but wanted to try them out. The Good: 1) The place is really clean and well lit - great if you like booths 2) The food is decent 3) Our server was friendly 4) The omelets were good and their hash browns have added onions, which I like - just note, if you don't like onions don't order the hash browns (you may be able to have them omitted, but not sure) The Bad: 1) Food came out fast but our server was not very attentive 2) This goes back to #1, the coffee cups are small for a diner, so if you want a refill, it took forever. We only got offered after we were basically done with our food. I suggest they leave a carafe at the table like some places do. 3) The pancakes, while HUGE, were doughy and not cooked all the way through - they give you 4, which is just way too much and they're almost $13. Overall, it's kind of pricey in my opinion compared to other breakfast places we've tried and for what you get. Shout out to my girl Melanie!! Best server EVER and she was very accommodating. Super kind. Super easy to talk with and gave the best suggestions. I was visiting my parents and sister. My sister and I decided to go there for lunch. It's in a plaza so ample parking. The restaurant was super cute and busy for a Sunday early afternoon. The food was good. A little minor hiccup with the kids Mac and cheese but everything else was great. Apparently Mac and cheese was supposed to be a bit more solid but the food was good. I ordered a Belgian waffle combo and for the price it was perfect. It comes with two sides so I had the breakfast potatoes with onions - yummy and then eggs. My sister had the Buffalo chicken wrap recommended by Mel and it was delicious with the chips on the side. Can't wait to come back. Stopped in for breakfast on our last day in Florida. We were seating pretty quickly and our service was fast. There were so many delicious options to choose from, and I loved that next to each option the calories were listed next to them. However, had it or not been for that, I'd have ordered the stuffed French toast. I ended up with a western omelet and it was cooked well, it was very good. Upon walking into Keke's no one acknowledges you. You have to walk up to the register to have someone pay attention to you. They ask you can I help you knowing you're there for breakfast. Most of the booths were empty and yet they say there is a 10 minute wait that turns out to be 25 minutes. Once seated then the waitress was very kind and attentive. Quick too! I had the chicken and waffles which was pretty good but nothing special. Not a fan of the syrup that goes with it at all. Strange taste. I'd rather have the traditional syrup. Also tried the French toast which was average and nothing special. Side of potatoes dry. Inside was clean and traditional. This wouldn't be the first place I'd recommend for breakfast. But it's decent. I think they need to get a better system and upgrade their food. That would make a huge difference. read more

We went here for Mother's Day breakfast. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated because they had a full house!! But that was all good, we didn't wait too long. The food was amazing, our server was very nice. The only issue I had is that the water for my hot tea was not hot enough, it was warm. Apart from that the flavor for the food, the freshness and the plating and portions were very good. It was comfortable and not too noisy inside either despite having so many customers. A few people suggested I try KeKe's in Lady Lake, so on a Thursday late morning I stopped in. Hostess was not the most pleasant but did seat me promptly. Room bright, lots of booths, popular place with villagers Big a magnifying glass to read menu. Font is very small and with so many offerings, very hard to read. I asked if they had hash browns and my waitress said no, only home fries. She suggested the combo (egg, home fries, bread) and I said sure. Waitress then asked if I wanted 1 or 2 eggs - I opted for 1. She finished getting details and placed my order which came out shortly. 1 egg over easy was fine, home fries were lukewarm and limp, raisin toast was almost to the point of burnt on crust. Waitress left bill while I was still eating and I called her back when I noticed she charged me for 2 egg combo when I only had 1. Turns out they don't price 1 egg combo (she offered me 1 or 2 egg choice but neglected to say no price difference). When I was ready to pay, waitress wasn't around, so I headed to front counter to settle. Hostess was resting her head in her hands, elbows on counter. I commented she must be having a tough day. She looked at my bill and said I had to pay waitress. While my meal was a disappointment, there was one thing that they did at KeKe's that I thought was brilliant. I ordered decaf and they put a coaster under the mug (p.s. square mugs are not my cup of tea) so when they come around for refills, they recognize immediately that it's decaf. read more

We went for a second dining experience two weeks ago, our server Shauna J was excellent and the food was outstanding. This time we had lunch (Tuna melts). As we waited for our food I observed staff continuously cleaning the wait area, windows, table and floors. We were greeted immediately and seated. Our server was at our table within 1 minute. She was pleasant and helpful. Our orders promptly arrived within 10 minutes (nice and hot) - coffee is outstanding every time. This place is on our list of best restaurants. I was served a perfectly acceptable breakfast by friendly servers, however service was slow (there's a good chance they forgot our order) and follow up on our needs wasn't the best. Service was busy but not slammed. Be warned, portions are large! Pancakes are larger than your head! So are the waffles. The menu is highly customizable right Down to if you want meat and veg in your hash browns. On the hash, they're really thinly sliced potatoes. They could do with a bit more seasoning and lacked crisp edges. I wouldn't go out of my way to order based on this trip. Apple cinnamon French Toast was topped with sliced baked apples (think about the inside of an Apple pie). It's not a bad place, perfectly acceptable for breakfast or lunch. Went to KeKe's for the first time a few days ago. Service was good but I had the worst sandwich I had in a long time. Just when I thought that no one could screw up a grilled cheese with bacon, it happened. First of all I ordered my grilled cheese with bacon, verified by the person that i was with. My sandwich was delivered without bacon, okay no big deal. It looked as thought it was not at all grilled but toasted bread with two slices of cheese inside, which was not melted. When I bit into it, the sandwich was so dry I nearly choked. I then asked the waitress if I could get some butter, it helped, at least I could finish eating the sandwich. Since I am not a complainer I did not ask for a manager but I did ask the waitress to mention to the cook that the sandwich was not prepared correctly. The kitchen definitely needs an intervention and cooking lessons! Yikes! In retrospect I probably should have ordered a breakfast item, maybe that would have come out okay. DOUBLE CHECK your bill for surprises! I have wanted to try this restaurant for a few months. Our server Julie B had an attitude that wasn't on the friendly side. She came to our table with a chip on her shoulder and was very snotty. I ordered for the Western Omelette without onion. I asked if I could substitute the onion for spinach she told me I could. When I got the omelette there was no ham. I was told by our server I didn't ask for ham. I told her I ordered the Western it comes with it. She informed me that since I asked for no onion and substituted it for spinach my omelette became a make your own and I didn't pay for ham. WTF?! The food came to the table lukewarm and I had to flag her down for coffee refills. Might try them again but it will be awhile. read more

First timer to Keke's, but soon to be a return customer. Pecan Waffle and a side of BACON!!!! Not some wimpy bacon that has an appointment with a psychoanalyst next Tuesday. This is bacon that could have single handedly shortened WW2 by 8 months saving tens of thousands of lives. A bacon from Mensa grade pigs that was smoked and cured at University, employed by a think tank where it developed a cure for cancer. That's good bacon. Not that the pecan waffle was less than delicious. It was loaded with enough pecans to make me think we live near the state that grows 'em. Black coffee to wash that down, yes please.
