Excellent brunch food! A decently large outdoor space, plus some tables inside, with a pretty wide-ranging menu. The wet breakfast burrito was pretty big, with a huge side of black beans, and filled with quite a lot of egg and chorizo (though not a huge amount of cheese or avocado). The salsa verde on top was quite good though, but not very spicy. The stuffed French toast was more of a French toast sandwich than 'stuffed', but the toast itself was very fluffy and light and the fruit and mascarpone filling was quite good. We started off with 2 tequila sunrises, which were on point very tasty. For food I ordered the basic breakfast with pancakes, bacon and my eggs scrambled medium, and my companion ordered the chicken chorizo scramble. The pancakes omg were freakin fire they come with a cinnamon butter and warm syrup delicious, they could've cooked my bacon a little longer and my eggs weren't scrambled medium more like scrambled hard. We had a great brunch with the crab cake benedict and the crepe with the crab cake, spinach, avocado and cheese. Amazing. I wish they gave you the hollandaise sauce in a gray boat for your table, so good! I ordered an espresso with creme on the side, since I thought $7 for a latte was a bit much. It may have been worth it, since I feel I got at LEAST 2 shots in the espresso. Great service. We came on a weekday, so it wasn't too busy. Thank you! this place is brunch done right! you can join the waitlist on yelp to minimize wait times but just know that they won't seat you unless your entire party is there. there wasn't much of a wait on Sunday around noon and we got seated almost immediately once we arrived. there is a parking lot next to the restaurant but it doesn't always have space so there's also street parking and another small lot nearby. I actually came here with my dog and I was happy to see there were a few other dogs as well. we actually ordered a slice of ham for him and they brought it out in a togo container for him. they also brought out some water without us even asking :) They currently have outdoor seating and a few tables "indoor" but its open for airflow. I ordered the crab cake Benedict which I completely demolished...it was delicious! that perfect egg yolk pop was there and the hollandaise sauce had both good flavor and consistency. The only thing I do wish they had was some paprika or seasoning of sort to put on top for additional spice. they had cholula and tapatio but it would've been nice to have something to sprinkle on top. The eggs Benedict come with a side of potatoes and they make it different from most places. They're almost like thin slices making up a hash - super crispy and seasoned well! We also ordered a side of bacon which was perfectly crisp just like I like it and not too oily at all. My friend ordered the bluecorn pancakes (which are gluten free!!!) and he finished it all because it was just that good. and of course, Sunday brunch wouldn't be brunch without alcohol so we ordered some Tequila Sunrises. Yes yes YES! My cousin always orders the crab cake egg's Benedict, but unfortunately I am a little averse to seafood so I always get the egg's Benedict. According to him, it's amazing and there's nothing else like it - and the same goes for me and my egg's Benedict. You need to make a reservations if you don't want to wait, and you can totally do it through Yelp! Regrettably, I didn't make a reservation beforehand but thankfully I didn't have to wait too long to be seated but that's because I chose for whatever was available. The wait time to sit inside the restaurant was too long so my son and I sat outside. I was so relieved we got a good table that provided us some shade from the bright sun. Service was quick, friendly and proficient. The food was great and their coffee was just what I needed! This place is so packed on the weekends, I like how they have extra people helping the servers check on folks frequently so to give coffee and water refills. Beautiful Tuesday morning for brunch so I decided on Cafe M after skimming the Yelp reviews. The sun was slowly coming out so I decided to sit outside the restaurant. The server, Cristian, was quick and very attentive which I really appreciated considering I was the only one sitting outside at the time. Of course, brunch calls for mimosas! Just perfect, the right amount of everything. And very cute in its glass with an orange slice. Then, just as fast as my mimosa and water came out, the Berkeley Hills scrambler followed soon after. Huge portion with wheat toasts and I knew I was going to have leftovers! So good with crispy potatoes underneath the eggs, cheese, spinach and sausage mix. Atmosphere outside is lovely, comfortable seats, clean wood table and smooth jazzy music playing over the speakers. The view is the parking lot and some stores nearby. I'm so thankful Cafe M existed the morning my bf and I were trying to have brunch at Bette's Oceanview Diner. We were pretty hungry and Bette's wait list was no joke. We stumbled across Cafe M and surprisingly, there was no wait and it was rated pretty high in yelp so we decided to chance it. I took forever and a day to decide because I wanted everything on the menu- God bless our waiter- he was so patient with me and my indecisiveness. I even changed my order last minute and when I thought he was going to bite my head off, he assured me that it was no problem at all. He got a big tip at the end. We finally ordered 2 of the combo breakfasts- mine with French toast and my bf's with pancakes: both came with bacon and eggs. Everything was exactly what brunch should be- comforting, filling, and delicious. French toast was perfectly tender and had hints of cinnamon, eggs were spot-on runny- just the way I love em- and the bacon added the crisp and savoriness that tied the whole meal together. Did I mention there was a hearty helping of scrumptious cinnamon butter on top of my French toast? I was a happy camper. I also ordered a freshly squeezed orange juice, which was divine. Prices are high (expect about $20 per dish) but portions are generous, the outdoor patio is beautiful and peaceful, service was exceptional (food came out quickly, waters were refilled during peak hours, etc.), and food was terrific. I can't even count how many times I've been to Cafe M for breakfast/brunch. Hands down one of my favorite places of all time; it's the first place I think about when I'm craving some really good breakfast. I've gotten their Eggs Milan Scramble, Veggie omelette, Coconut French Toast, Delmar Crepe, and Homemade Corned Beef Hash. I've never been disappointed but their scrambles, omelettes, and french toast really stand out among their other items. The eggs are always perfectly cooked and I'm sad every time I finish the french toast. One of the things that makes Cafe M unique is their breakfast potatoes. They're thinly sliced and fried (vs hash browns or home fries) and so, so, so good. Please get them!! Cafe M always impresses me with how fresh their food is, how broadly appealing their menu is, and how attentive the service is. There can be a wait in the morning so I'd highly recommend getting there earlier or later in the day, and signing up on their Yelp waitlist before you get to the restaurant. We went to Cafe M for breakfast. Great atmosphere. I had the Aztec Huevos Rancheros. It was amazing. My wife loved the veggie omelette. The orange juice was fresh squeezed. This is now my go to breakfast restaurant in the entire Bay Area. The lunch menu looked delicious, I will definitely be back to try out the chicken club sandwich. Her responses were extremely curt and unprofessional; she repeated to my parents "Do you understand me?" multiple times, and wasn't the slightest bit apologetic when I intervened. I spoke with the manager, who was dismissive to my concerns. There are better establishments to give your money to, with kinder staff and better food. They were able to get approval to convert part of the parking lot into places they could put tables so it didn't feel like anyone was too close or cramped nearby. Staff wears masks.
