We saw the great reviews and the menu and decided to give this place a try. What a wonderful experience. The ambiance was very "Sunday" - such a a relaxing and cute place to hang out. The crepes and sandwiches were delicious. The owner is such a friendly and welcoming guy. Case in point...When street parking I realized someone else was trying to park and if I moved up they might be able to fit. Turns out it wasn't needed, but was appreciated. As we were sitting waiting for our food, a plate of delicious macarons showed up at our table as a "thank you". It was the owner who had been trying to park. :). He told us the story of his cafe. Wow! Wow! Wow! My first time at Cafe Miriam and I was blown away. I ordered a cheese danish, a chocolate croissant and the almond croissant and it was amazing! Wow!!! This was within walking distance of where I was staying during my visit. I stopped by into this sweet cozy spot and chatted with presumably the owner about my full day ahead. He told me he'd make a hearty bacon, egg, and brie crepe to fuel me for my day and when I asked for veggies he added a little side for me. It is a lovely small venue with kind staff. The windows let in ample sunshine for all the seating. I got the window seat next to the shelves of books and magazines. It was wonderful to sit and read and eat, chatting with an employer about the book and reading, feeling unrushed for my day. The croissant was wonderful (I've been going through withdrawals lol), the coffee hot and fresh, the owner warm and welcoming, as if we'd known him for years. But the most beautiful part of the morning? Both a sign supporting federal employees during this government shutdown, and the beautiful person who tipped $20 towards helping them. My grandpa and I love stopping here during our walks in City Park. Every time we come, the owner goes out of his way to greet and welcome us back. He is so friendly and warm. There isn't one thing here that isn't tasty. They have vegan/vegetarian options as well. The pastries are delicious! The space is small so keep that in mind. Overall, nothing of note here. We got a sandwich and a crepe, both of which were pretty average. Had to spit out some bad cuts of prosciutto. We both agreed the sandwich we got was pretty dry. Love this cafe! I first came to this cafe a few years ago with my dad for breakfast, I still remember how amazing that first Cafe Miriam crepe experience was! When my boyfriend and I moved to Denver a month ago, I was so excited to find out that we live only 2 blocks away, that while we were unloading our moving truck, I went and got coffee and croissants for everyone. Cafe Miriam has become a regular stop when walking our dogs in the morning to get our coffee and chai. It can get extra busy on the weekends, but worth the wait. Also, the owner, Touhami is so kind - just his smile and joy for being there, you can tell he loves what he does and wants to make sure his customers are happy. I've walked past this spot many times on the way to City Park and today, to my surprise, learned that they serve Moroccan food. The chicken tagine, pita, hummus, and salad were delicious. My husband and I have been living in Denver for 2 1/2 months since his liver transplant. We have tried many restaurants, and must say that Café Miriam is most wonderful. Tonight, the evening before we get to return home to NE, we decided to have dinner at Café Miriam. The owners of our Airbnb recommended this lovely place to us. We placed our order with a very kind accommodating man. We walked to the café when our food was ready. What a quaint little café tucked in the most beautiful part of Denver. Lush trees and greenery all around. People on our walk were so friendly! We ordered the Roast Beef Tagine with Prunes, Moroccan Salade De Carottes Avec Sharmoula, the Hummus Plate, and the Chocolate Cake. Oh my goodness! These dishes were fabulous! They were each seasoned with wonderful flavors, which we savored with each bite! We are so happy we were able to try this amazing place. We truly enjoyed meeting and visiting with Touhami. He is the most kind compassionate man! We will return to try more of his incredible Moroccan food and pastries when we return to Denver. We highly recommend that you stop by and try it as well! Well I thought they closed at 7:30 which they do Wed-Sat and Sun they close at 7. I arrived at 6:45 and the owner gave me a free meal and coconut water. Try finding that anywhere else! My wife and I came in here and were just so pleasantly surprised! It was such a cute little place and the workers and owner was so kind! He even gave us a free croissant! I have to admit, I almost walked out when my husband and I walked in to try this 5 star rated breakfast place. On the surface it was a little too quirky for us. We stuck with our desire to try Cafe Miriam and we were SO happy that we did. My husband had NEVER had a savory crepe, can you believe that?! He fell in love at first bite with the one that we both selected. It was a mixture or chicken and pesto, kalamata olives, some cheese, eggs, all wrapped tenderly in a deliciously flavorful light, golden brown crepe! Delicious!!! The American coffee we had was bold and flavorful, perfect! On top of the food and coffee being really yummy, the staff, and I'd guess owner as well were all so friendly and helpful in helping us decide which items to try. We decided to come here on a whim, looking for crepes from a local business. While the foods was delicious and freshly made, the real jewel of Cafe Miriam is the owner. He came to our table and asked us how we were doing and if we were enjoying our trip so far. He let us know of some tourist spots and colleges to tour. My boyfriend and I wanted to grab some lunch before our walk to the park that day. We saw this Parisian-Moroccan cafe tucked into the corner in the neighborhood across the street so we decided to give it a try. We were immediately greeted by an incredibly friendly man who we assumed was the cafe owner and he made some suggestions while amiably offering our dog some treats from a bag. After going back and forth on what to get, I decided to get the lemon chicken tagine and my boyfriend got the bacon, egg and brie breakfast sandwich. After some friendly conversation, he was able to pack our lunch in some nicely sealed to-go containers and we made our way to the park to eat. Whew...let me tell you. The 5 star rating of this place is totally justified. My chicken was delicious and tender, steaming hot and flavorful with lemon zest and other various spices over a bed of yummy saffron couscous. It came with a side of what was probably the most delicious tomato-eggplant dip I've ever had (and I'm not a big eggplant person) as well as a side of some chopped fruit (the owner said this meal typically comes with hummus but they had run out that day, unfortunately, because I'm sure it would have been delicious with the meal) and some hot pita bread. I generously dipped the pita in the eggplant dip as I took bites of my chicken-and-couscous meal. My mouth was in heaven! My boyfriend's sandwich came with the side of fruit as well as a warm and fresh chocolate croissant-the owner had previously told me they had the most authentic Parisian croissants in Denver, and based on the bites my boyfriend slipped of his croissant to me, I believe him. My boyfriend said his sandwich was one of the best breakfast sandwiches he's ever had. Our meals, with a coconut water and yummy refreshing peach cobbler iced tea, came to 37 dollars and I tipped 20 percent on top of that because the shop owner was super friendly and gracious, and given what's going on right now I want to support small businesses as much as possible. This cafe had some of the tastiest food I've ever had in the Denver area- not pretentious, small portions like I've experienced from a lot of the downtown Denver cafes, and it's all reasonably priced. I would love to come back down and try some of their crepes, but I worry I was so impressed with the Moroccan food they serve that I wouldn't want to try anything else when I come back! Crepes are pretty solid! They are nice and fluffy which is rare since they are usually pretty thin. Love the location and the owner is really nice. They even top it off with a french accent when you order it. This place offers sandwiched too that are a good mix for vegan and gluten free customers. Cafe Miriam is such a cute shop that has delicious foods and coffee. It is a small business and the owner is so sweet and hospitable! I ordered the Dylan with a cinnamon honey latte. The Dylan is a large croissant breakfast sandwich with avocado, eggs, and swiss cheese. Absolutely amazing! The sandwich also came with these breakfast potatoes that hands down were the best I've ever tasted. Everything was delicious! Highly recommend going.
