Absolutely loved this spot and can't wait to go back. Food quality and service were a 10/10. Very clean and calming inside too.

The food may be "French inspired," but certainly not French. The crepe was authentic, but the overcooked scrambled eggs inside were just blah...and, with just a bare drizzle of their touted "champagne sauce" it was mighty dry. I don't grasp their love of ketchup...is ketchup a popular French condiment? They put it on every plate. (Turned out that it was necessary to moisten the dry hash browns.) Two of us at our table had choking fits while we ate. My greatest complaint -- Cafe de France IS NOT ADA ACCESSIBLE! There is no ADA parking anywhere near this business. Their double doors are extremely heavy and the youngster serving as host just stood at his podium and watched me struggle to get my walker through those doors...and the place wasn't even busy yet. When I told him the name of the group I was joining, he just kept repeating, "How many in your party?" When I realized that he didn't speak English, I just proceeded to find my group on my own. Upon exiting the room where my group had gathered, I saw that the place was packed for lunch...so packed, that I couldn't maneuver my walker through the crowd to get to the door. A couple of patrons had to get up out of their chairs and move furniture to allow me to pass and they were annoyed by my audacity when I said, "Excuse me, please." The cherry on top...I had the trots for several hours last night. As that was my only meal yesterday, I am drawing my own conclusions on the origin of that. read more

We found this place as they have GF options for my wife as she has celiac disease. They have crape, and other options for Gf folks They are open 7 days a week 7a to 9 p except for Sunday and Monday when they close at 3p. We were greeted immediately and seated in a booth. They have some limited outside seating as well.It was a Friday and I thought they would be busier but relieved that they weren't. We came for breakfast. The chipotle salmon Benedict was superb and delicious. Inside is full of Italian music and it feels like you are in that culture. A return trip is high on our list!! read more

They didn't season the steak at all and cooked it at a medium to low temperature so didn't get any char or crisp on the outside. The server didn't bring a steak knife with the steak rather just brought me a regular dinner knife. I see the owner responds to the yelp reviews so I'm giving him an extra star for that. And also they do a pretty good job setting the tables and folding the napkins so I'm giving an extra star for that. They have steak items on the menu for $60 and for that I could go to hillstones and get a perfectly cooked steak meal for the same price. I would recommend that the owner takes his kitchen staff to hillstones so they can taste how a steak is supposed to be cocked. read more

Came in for Denver Restaurant Week excited to try a new French restaurant. The service was excellent and the food presentation was nice. The space was cute and clean and they have outdoor seating as well. The wine by the glass came in a nice generous pour. We had French onion soup, filet with bacon, and crème brulee. While the ingredients were fresh and good quality, the soup and entree were both pretty bland and lacked seasoning. The filet was cooked well but lacked salt and pepper and the cognac sauce on the filet tasted like bland brown gravy. The soup tasted like a light beef broth with onions, not a true rich French onion soup. I'm not a person that reaches for salt very often but my gosh, everything lacked seasoning. The creme brulee was really good. I was expecting to enjoy my meal much more and unfortunately will not be coming back. I do think a few tweaks to the recipes could make a huge difference to earn repeat customers as they had a lot of good things going on. read more

Colorado doesn't always compare to the East and West Coasts when it comes to restaurants, but this place is a standout. My mom and I went in for dessert today and I ordered a Nutella crepe. The texture of the crepe was gummy and chewy and it was tasteless, with the exception of the nutella filling. I took one bite and sent it back. My mom ordered a piece of chocolate cake (a la mode) and the cake was also tasteless. I had to try it myself and there was zero chocolate flavor in the cake. I have dined here before for breakfast and lunch and the food is okay. Edible, but truly nothing special. When the bill for the dessert came today, the waiter informed us that he took $2.00 off the bill. What a joke. I asked to speak with the manager and instead he brought me an updated bill with a few more dollars taken off the bill. When I asked once again to speak with the manager, Chef Enrique G. showed up and told me that since everyone else likes his food, I should like it too. Don't come here thinking it's an actual French restaurant. Some food items are French inspired. The menu is huge (which is never a good sign), they should do a few things and do them well but they don't. The interior is nicely decorated. Boss Lady ordered the beef dip sandwich and a cup of French onion soup. We know from experience that it comes with a au jus dipping sauce. The waitress didn't bring it and we waited close to 10 minutes to get her attention. She finally brought it without any apology. The meat tasted as if it came out of a bag. Her FOS didn't have a cheese layer on top, but mine did so we traded. For dessert we got the creme brulee, the topping was nice and crunchy but the custard was overcooked. Café de France exceeded my expectations! From the outside this unassuming restaurant looks like a casual cafe, but it's so much more. We stopped by spontaneously on a Saturday afternoon (late lunch) and we were seated immediately. Our server, Alberto, was helpful from the start. He walked us through the specials and the beverage deals (BOGO martinis and a mimosa bottle deal!) and his recommended appetizers. We chose to start with the (6) escargot and it was delicious, and the perfect amount of food for the three of us given what we ordered as mains. The quiche Lorraine was delicious and indulgent, with a great sauce accompaniment. Two of us selected the french onion soup, which was excellent as well and stands on its own for a lighter lunch. The Monte Cristo and Croissant BLT were so tasty and hearty, and while that would have been more than enough food, they're both served with your choice of a side and fruit. Through the whole meal Alberto was friendly and attentive and absolutely added a positive vibe to the meal! The price point of this restaurant might be a little higher than you initially anticipate, but it is worth every penny. I've lived in Denver for decades and still somehow never made it into Cafe de France, but my advice: go ASAP, and eat the crepes while they're hot! read more

I am French and the only downside was that not one person spoke French LOL. they actually spoke Spanish. Just wanted to bring out my French and couldn't find a single French waiter. This restaurant has totally deteriorated under its current owners. The food no longer resembles anything French. The quiche Lorraine is served without Gruyère cheese and has an extremely thin crust. They put such a small amount of ham rather than bacon in the recipe it is almost not detectable. It is tasteless. The fruit salad, consisting of cantaloupe and honey dew melon is not ripe, and the vegetable salad tastes like bagged lettuce with tomatoes on top. The management is not interested in addressing the recipe issue. read more

I'm doing the keto thing so stopped in for an omelette. I asked for the feta spinach, no fruit no potatoes no toast, bacon on the side. Mexican waitress seemed to struggle to grasp what I was saying. Being French I was hoping for a decently crafted omelette instead the standard slab of rubber. Omelette arrived, delivered by Mexican cook/waiter/busser? and it was just a big pile of eggs and vegetables, not an attractive tube of fluffy eggy goodness. But it wasn't hammered, anyway. However, it showed up with a big bowl of fruit and no bacon. Sent fruit back (Mexican guy didn't seem to speak English so I sort of hand signaled it away) and took a bite - the bacon was in the omelette, which meant it was rendered flabby and unappealing. Whatever. It was edible-ish. Cappuccino was bitter but ok. I'd call it small at best. Cost? $7. I asked for a brewed coffee top off, and that was some of the worst sub-diner coffee ever. Dishwater. Disgusting. Got the bill. Charged $3 for bacon, nothing comped for fruit, toast, and potatoes left off, or for screwing up my order. $35 for a simple omelette, no sides, and bad coffee. What planet am I living on? I actually didn't leave a tip. I don't remember ever having to do that before. But come on. Won't be back. read more

We visited during restaurant week and they did not disappoint. The onion soup had the delicious crispy cheese, was a tad bit too salty for me. Per the others in our party: the lobster bisque was good with some real lobster in it. The steaks were cooked perfectly, the veal was tender the desserts were tasty and the crepes were nice and thin. Although the seafood crepe itself was too sweet, the filling and sauce were delicious. Our waiter was wonderful, attentive, informative and just pleasant to work with. I've passed by many a time while shopping at King Sooper or getting sushi right next door (Yama Sushi is awesome by the way!), but decided to come check out this place with some friends one morning for brunch. It felt nice to sit outside at a high top table since the weather was pleasant that day. The food was good, although definitely on the pricey side. I tried the monte cristo and French onion soup- yum! The only thing was that our server was a bit odd... he was listening to our conversation as he was clearing our plates and then jumped into our conversation and brought up a fairly inappropriate topic. Other people had several different types of food and everyone was happy with their selections. The group was 20 or more women and we received excellent service. This is my go-to brunch spot. The owner is also the head chef and he is fantastic! The staff is so polite, well mannered, attentive, well groomed, and professional. The restaurant is a Diamond in the rough. I love the location because there is plenty of free parking since it is in a shopping complex. Brunch here is always packed. If you get here for a late brunch you may have the whole restaurant to yourself. When I visit I usually order the Santa Fe skillet. Finally I have been eating different items on the menu. Everything is so delicious. The platters, the omelets, the French toast, the smoothies, even the tea is delicious. Go to this restaurant and enjoy yourself. You just might see me there. read more

Ordered twice from DoorDash, and both times, the omelets were delicious. Last time, I got the Denver one. This time, I got the Cafe de France one. They were both delicious, as were the hash browns that came with them. My husband got the belgian waffles with bacon, and those were good, but just a bit dry (according to him!) But I would recommend sticking them in the air fryer for about 3 to 5 minutes because they get soft and soggy by the time they arrive. I'm sure that's not the case if you eat there. I also called to ask for additional bacon instead of eggs with the waffle, and they were nice enough to oblige! I would definitely recommend putting an option for sides or extras into DoorDash, in case people want extra bacon or anything. read more
