The Long Version: My husband and I came here for dinner and we thought it was great. The food was tasty and the price was very affordable. The wait was a bit long though because it appeared to be a one-man show. We got the Classic Shanghai Wonton Soup ($9.99) and the Classic Siomai ($8.99) and shared both. The wontons and Siomai seemed to be made in-house and were large and delicious. We also got free fortune cookies. The wontons in the wonton soup were filled with ground pork and I believe a leafy green vegetable called shepherds purse. The wrapper wasn't too thick. The broth was a bit salty but still ok. The broth had tiny dried shrimps in it, as well as green onions and seaweed. The seaweed had a strong fishy smell to it, which I wasn't a huge fan of, but overall I still enjoyed the soup. The Siomai were filled with sticky rice, beans and ground meat. You only get 4 but they were quite large. We really liked these. We only saw the one man working there, and I think he did everything, including cooking the food. He didn't say very much but was polite. There are only a handful of tables in the entire restaurant. I think it seats about 14 people. Decor is very basic and except for the plants along the wall it's pretty utilitarian. I suspect it's popular with students as it's right by Concordia University. Street parking only. Review #63 (2026)

Really comfortable, fun, lively atmosphere. Our server was the best. So friendly (and comped us a dessert when he found out we were first timers). I've never been so happy and satisfied paying a bill.

It all exceeded expectations, and our expectations were high going in based on the well-deserved hype! The 20-30 minute wait was so worth it. One of the owners works the line & he offered drinks to everyone as we waited outside. The other owner took our order, and when my son and I said we wanted to try a bunch of different things and asked if we could do smaller portions (1bun instead of 2 & a mix of satays), he happily obliged us. Now let's talk about the food - the laksa soup, pork belly bun, papaya salad and satays were all EXACTLY RIGHT. Like chefs kiss kind of right. The owner came by when all the food had been taken away and jokingly asked if we had enough, and my son sheepishly said he probably needed one more of the pork belly buns, and it came right out. So tender and sublime. I couldn't eat another bite, but he somehow stuffed it in because it was just so good. My son can't wait to sport his Satay Brothers shirt back in Dallas! 10 out of 10!
