BLT with egg and cheese ($10.75)

Finally tried out Greenspot Restaurant, an old school diner institution, that's been around since 1947. Mostly known for their breakfast and poutine. - The house combo ($16.25) - you get a variety; smoked meat, crepe, bacon, ham, sausage, beans, toast and hash browns. Nothing memorable, heavy - Grilled cheese ($7.45) - meh. Skip it - 2 eggs with ham ($11.25) - standard fare - BLT with egg and cheese ($10.75)

    10h15am time unavailable

Yet another 1 star I opened the app to see whether it would give me any sort of discount, looked through my more recent restaurant deliveries Green Spot indicates "Requested time unavailable" Since they're operating during the hours where customers can use apps to order, and since it's 10h15am, it means they went into the system and blocked me from future orders So they're reading reviews, which means they'll read this one and here's what I want them to know When a customer does 3 orders and you mess up 2 of them, when you tell the customer on the final order "there's nothing we can do on our end you have to get Skip to pay you back" - it also means you lack the ability to offer so much as an apology My information is on the receipt, it would have taken 20 seconds out of your life to call and say you're sorry the orders were wrong But even that is too much trouble And you wonder why I cursed her out Expand that cursing to the entirety of your restaurant as a reflection of your incompetence

Don't get me wrong - I saw the appeals, and I enjoyed the meal, but I think the flavours of the food get a bit monotone over time, even in the late-night setting (I got the steak sandwich & the chop poutine with smoked meats & hotdogs I think). Very standard Montreal-style diner fast food. The fries got a bit too dried, too (I still believe la banquise has the best poutine; call me basic, sure)

Stopped at Greenspot for lunch on the way to Quebec City and now, after maneuvering through a web of poutineries, this is my top spot! The gravy was deeply beefy and almost herbal but I was surprised at almost how light the entire bite was. The fries could have been a bit crisper in my opinion but the curds did have a good squeak. It was one of the more savory poutines we had and I think I definitely enjoyed these more than those that leaned sweet. We also added a jumbo smoked meat sandwich and a Greek salad. The meat sammy was stacked tall and the meat had pretty good flavor to boot. I also appreciated that it was on the leaner side. The Greek salad, on one hand, wasn't anything too special - just some additional tomatoes, onions, olives, and feta on iceberg lettuce but those wedges of tomatoes specifically were plentiful and so sweet! I would just order a plate of tomatoes if I could! Our waiter was also a king! He knew we were tourists but helped us navigate the menu to get the best value (upgrading the fries to a poutine instead of ordering them a la carte). The vibe of Greenspot was like an OG New York diner with mini jukes on each booth. It was a super homey vibe that was just fun and welcoming!

The poutine here were really good. One of the best poutine we've had in Montreal. Generous portion too. Quick service. Can't complain. We love this place. Highly recommended!

As part of my visit to Montreal, I made damn well sure to stop here. Greenspot was ranked high on my list for best poutine and it came through in the most beautiful way. The fries are crispy. The curds squeak like newborn babies. The gravy is deep and herbal and does not undo anything. In fact, it adds more to the plate. You will need to get something with it or your palate will be nauseated. Let me discuss the service for a moment. The servers are cute, peppy, with a dash of intelligence that is masked by perky smiles and awful dance moves. My server, as I witnessed, was singing and dancing throughout the restaurant, while never missing a beat with her orders and making her customers happy. She was all too deserving of an extra tip at the end of my meal. Sadly I did not get her name. A true treasure that contains plenty of gold in both the food and servers.

Came here on a Thursday early afternoon for lunch. They were about half full which made it surprising we had to wait an extra 10 minutes to get seated. We weren't supplied menus after 5 minutes so we took the initiative to grab them from the front. Another 10 minutes after that we were provided with waters and our orders were taken. We shared Meat lover hot dog, large tico nico poutine, steamed hotdog. The meat sauce over the 100% beef hot dog was tomato sauce based with a heaping portion of French fries. The steamed hotdog had salted cabbage, mustard and chopped white onion. The gravy was extra salty and hot over the cheese curd and fries. The pepperoni slices and pieces of bacon provided an extra chew and blast of flavor. Overall, food was good but service was incredibly slow. I'm not sure if it was because we looked to be the only tourists as other people were served in a fraction of the time it took to get seats. Waitress was nice when she came but they were for very abbreviated visits. Not sure if I'd come again.

Growing up I always went to green stop located on monk in vile emard but this location is called green spot. I know it's pretty similar but they are worlds apart and by worlds apart I mean 15 minute drive haha. So they opened in 1947 They have the same layout as back in the day Old school dinner vibes Loads of coming and going And the volume is at a max in here. Poutine= mehhhh I mean curd cheese 10/10 solid cold huge chunks. Fries are way to big half cooked half not. Gravy taste like they dropped the salt shaker in it. I know they make it but it's too salty. Pizza= it's not a pizza place let's just say that. Hot dogs well how can you go wrong with that. They get 10/10 for their steamies. The people are sweet but working hard and fast so don't feel offended if they don't smile as much as the next place. I suggest grabbing two hot dogs and maybe a onion ring

This is a classic, family-owned, Montréal diner experience with an extensive menu, late night service on weekends and very friendly, efficient servers and staff. Highly recommend.

Such a classic spot to go whether you're visiting or live in mtl, always reliable and the staff are super kind - my go-to to get a full breakfast without breaking the bank

Greenspot has that true diner feel with cozy booths and an old school jukebox on each table. We arrived at peak lunch period and service was still pretty quick and friendly. The crowd inside was mixed as this is a beloved neighbourhood gem. They serve traditional diner fare. If you want a deliciously perfect poutine, do I have news for you. Fries didn't get soggy, the cheese curds were squeaky and abundant, and the dark poutine gravy tied it all together. What more is there to say about poutine? I got the small size which was perfect for one person and was told the large size is HUGE. They've got about 15 different poutines on the menu if that's your jam, but you can't go wrong with the classic. Tip: pay at the counter after you get your bill.

À classic "casse-croûte" we absolutely loved the atmosphere, decor and nostalgia factor here. Generous portions, juicy, well-cooked burgers, excellent hot dogs but it was the poutine that really stood out for us. More specifically : the poutine sauce. Thick, dark savoury gravy over delicious fries worthy of many more visits. Note: The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The definition of good service

I absolutely love the old-school genuine spirit of this establishment. The service is solid and the food is without pretention. If you are looking for a diner meal, this is as good as it gets! I basically got the largest breakfast platter available. Two pancakes, baked beans, house potatoes, ham, bacon, sausage, smoked meat, fruit and 2 eggs for under $15. Holly Molly that is a good deal. I'm use to only getting half of that for that price!! Also, I like the crowd that gathers here. There is a mix of characters, personalities and neighborhood staples that seem to gather here. It's a fun place to people watch while having a massive breakfast.

Got to try some delicious food during my short weekend trip to Montreal Quebec…read more A friend organized a lunch for everyone before we all headed to the airport and funny enough this restaurant was in the hotel my friend and i stayed at. The restaurant was super quiet when we went as it was a Monday afternoon when most people were probably at work. The interior was quite elegant very clean and royalty looking. The service was 10/10. Waiter was very attentive and we could tell he paid attention to detail. He gave great food recommendations and definitely had knowledge of what's on the menu. Now as for how the food and prices were? Prices i'd say are pretty standard and reasonable. The squash soup was so yum and comforting. It had a puree texture to it. Good serving size. I would order it again! We obviously had to have some mimosas and yes we paired it with orange juice. The duck confit may have been a bit too much for me. Large portion and i couldn't even finish half of it. But it wasn't dry and the veggies had a nice crunch and the lentils were very filling and healthy. The flavour notes all went together but i'd definitely say the dish was more on the healthier side. The chicken supreme on the other hand .. although healthy it was still cheesy and buttery. Considering it was chicken breast it didn't even taste dry so i definitely appreciated that. The risotto paired with it was the star of the show! The restaurant takes resos online and they do have brunch on the weekends, happy hour menu looks promising. If i'm ever in town again and in the area i'd want to try their happy hour or chacuterie spread!

(Hotel restaurants, can be good/bad) We were definitely not dressed up which I was worried about but it wasn't an issue, we started with beef carpaccio and charcuterie, the pate was absolutely amazing as were all the cured meats. The beef carpaccio, was for me a little bland, I would have hit it with a touch of salt, but once you got a piece th at had balsamic drizzle it really opened it up and changed my mind. (I wish there was a little more of the balsamic. My husband had the Cornish hen, and I had the filet mignon, both were absolutely amazing, I even stole a little of his Bleu cheese for my steak. Steak was cooked perfectly, the sides were amazing. Our server was on point, his name was Pedro, I had asked him to send out a dessert privately and it was our 1 year anniversary, even though we were not dressed for the occasion as we were both exhausted from travel, We will probably be in for lunch tomorrow!

Even during peak summer season the restaurant was crowded and even had a line starting to form at peak lunch hour. There are not very many large tables so don't expect a large group to be sitting together. The menu is pretty straightforward with the typical miso, tonkotsu, and shoyu broths. But they even have a tomato broth with Hokato scallops for those more adventurous. We ordered the Tonkotsu Black $19 & the Tonkotsu+ $19. Is it pricey for Ramen? Yes. But was it worth it? Yes. The Tonkotsu Black had a rich broth with prominent garlic oil. The Tonkotsu+ was really the show stopper. With 3 different styles of meat: Smoked pork pastrami, meatballs & chashu. The truffle oil was fragrant and earthy. But the biggest surprise was shiitake mushrooms. They were marinated/seasoned to perfection, with a hint of sweetness. I would've been happy with just a giant bowl of shiitake mushrooms, and truffle oil. The broth was much lighter and delicate than the Tonkotsu Black, yet strong on the truffle. If you're not really a fan of truffle, do not get this. We were tempted to go back again, but we opted to try other restaurants around the downtown area. 10/10 Would go back again! The staff are very friendly and quick. Give it a try! They have multiple locations, especially if you're looking for something new, yet comforting.

But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George.
