This place has been a staple in this town for years. The outside of this place is a little unassuming but they make the best Asian food and sushi in the area. The food is so unique and fresh! I had the ahi tuna and the veggies were so savory. My friend had the tempera veggie roll with spicy mayo and it was mouth watering. They also have an extensive martini list for those that like fun little drinks [[HIGHLIGHT]]It has a really romantic vibe with the low lighting and cushy seating - definitely great for dates and special occasions.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is always really friendly and vigilant. My husband, my daughter, my mother and I ate here for dinner this evening for the first time. We ordered the crispy calamari for an appetizer, which I have to say is not the worst calamari I've ever had but close to it. It did not have much flavor at all And the calamari was a little on the chewy side. It also was on a bed of brown lettuce as you will see in the picture I'm going to post, which was a complete turn off . Needless to say I would not order it again. My daughter had the beef and broccoli with fried rice. The beef was very tasty and unfortunately the broccoli was very much undercooked and hard. The sauce that came on it was very tasty and had a smoked flavor, I will have to say I was very disappointed when getting the bill that they up charged $3.50 for the fried rice considering the meal came with rice so I am a little unsure of how some butter soy sauce and a couple shaved vegetables cost $3.50, to me that's just a Restaurant nickel and diming you and I'm not for that. my mom ordered a sushi roll that was only about $10.50 but was extremely small although she did say it was good but she would not order it again. My husband and I both had sushi as well and ours were good, but severely overpriced for what you get, we shared three rolls and we left still hungry which usually we can eat two rolls each and be very satisfied. I have to believe their prices are so high because you're paying for the atmosphere which was a nice atmosphere, but definitely not worth the price you're paying... I do wish they had a special on sushi, but they do not and their rolls are an average of $17 + which in my opinion is extremely high, considering anywhere else their roles would be between 12 and $15 and most likely include a soup and a salad which this place did not offer that . They do have different item menus that did look good although I really can't say that we would be back. Another downside is they do not offer a kids menu so I paid $18 for beef and broccoli plus the additional $3.50 for a child who barely ate half of her meal, which is a complete turn off for us, and I'm sure for any other parent wanting to go have a meal with her children. I believe that the three star rating I give them is fair. Like I said, the food wasn't horrible, but it also wasn't great and I definitely think they can do better but doubt they ever will. read more

Delightful lunch. Atmosphere was a little dark for the lunch. Lots of people enjoying the outside. I also had the spicy tuna roll. I wish they would be more explicit about the extras they put on the maki rolls. I did not like the sweet sauce they put on the spicy tuna but I was able to wipe it off enough. Girls enjoyed their kids plain lo mein. Don't order the adult plain lo mein because the kids size was the same size but cheaper! Loved the service though. Server and hostess were amazing. read more

This is a nicely appointed restaurant and was full of promise. But, there were a few problems. First, the table was covered in greasy fingerprints. Second, the menus were dog-eared, grubby and falling apart and third, make sure you sit on the padded bench along the back wall, and try to avoid the chairs...they are not contoured and are hard. After 30 minutes, I was getting a numb-bum. The service was fair at best. So, the food. We ordered main courses only. My wife's green chicken curry was, she said, very nice with a good level of spice. I ordered stir fried vegetables in soy ginger sauce. It wasn't awful, but it was close to being just that. The reviews for this place are generally good and I will go back to give it a second chance. However, menu cards and daily special lists are a restaurant's printed advert. I've been here for dinner a few times now. Cafe One11 is starting to become one of my go to spots for good food in a friendly environment. I have just been sitting at the bar which seems to be the spot to sit to get into the action and have some great conversations. My favorite dish is the tuna tacos on the specials menu. I've asked them to keep that one permanently. The Chef's Special is a great roll. Jessica told me different ways to order it to make it even more special. Cafe One 11 is one of the best restaurants in town. Charlie the owner really cares about the business and what he attracts is very loyal customers. I have been a customer for 10 years now and have gotten to know most of the staff. Charlie has a real passion for the business and truly cares about keeping the highest quality. This review is mainly for the sushi menu but also the brunch and Thai food. The sushi here is second to none!!! Over 10 years I have never has sushi that was not of the highest quality. I mostly have sashimi which requires the highest quality sushi. After a few years I started just letting the sushi chef make me a plate of the freshest and most interesting selections. I have shared a few of the many plates I have had in the photos I have uploaded. I would compare the quality with almost any major city. I lived in Southern California for 10 years so I know fresh / well prepared sushi. I recommend Cafe One 11 all the time. But not just for the food. The place really has a way of bringing cool people together for a meal. I almost always eat at the bar and I can't remember a time where there were not friendly, interesting people to meet and talk to. So if you are new to town or just looking for a friendly place to eat this is it. Even if you don't like sushi there is a full menu so something for everyone. The Tuna is excellent if you are looking for cooked fish. The place also has a great atmosphere. The bartenders are seasoned and there to make sure you get a good drink and some conversation. There are none more friendly in JC. The Sunday brunch is something special. You cannot beat the price and selection . plenty of selection and fresh prepared foods. Something for everyone and great deserts as well. Very family and group friendly. If you have not been you owe it to yourself .. you will not be disappointed. There may have been some bad experiences and reviews like every restaurant can have a bad day but over 10 years I can say it is my favorite place in JC and there is some very good rivals. read more

There's nothing Chinese about this place except the wanna be decor. The mooshu pork was served with Mexican tortillas and no rice (you can argue if it should be served with rice or not), and the basil chicken had no spice in it at all. Spring rolls were 2 for $7.25. I love Asian food but poor Café One 11 fell short way short first the fish used in my sushi was warm and had a slimy film it was stomach churning so I also had ordered Miso with Salmon the Miso was week and well a few Flakes of Salmon dose not make it with Salmon it did have chunks of tofu which would of been OK but the soup had sit for so long that the tofu was no longer firm and was mostly mush, I had ordered a few other items that just fell short. I for one will not eat here again maybe if the chief gets the boot and they reexamine their menu and suppliers then maybe, I have no idea how anyone can call this Asian Food or even food at all. This is probably the most random brunch experience I've ever had. However, it was $20 for bottomless mimosas and all the breakfast, Asian, sushi and seafood I could eat, so I would say I'm a fan. The mimosas are great - made with a drier champagne which I like as opposed to the super sugary kinds. I don't even know how many I had, because I wasn't driving and probably was thinking "it's just juice!!" The buffet is split up into a few sections - a sushi/seafood section with several types of sushi, crab legs, shrimp, and salmon, a desserts section, a salads and vegetables/fruit section, a traditional breakfast items section, and a section of asian options. I had a few types of the sushi and crab legs. I've had better in both categories, but for the price I wasn't too bugged. I also sampled some of the stir-fry asian options - again, not totally compelling but the price is right. More than anything, I was just confused and eating whatever looked good to me, so having biscuits and gravy, bacon, ginger soy shrimp and vegetables, spring rolls, as well as pineapple and honeydew was a-okay. I wholly recommend the brunch if you love to drink mimosas, because you can have them to your heart's content as well as eat so many random foods you won't know what hit you - or you could play it safe and stick to one section. Went here on 10/13/2015 for lunch and had a mixed experience. The service was fine, the place is clean and nicely decorated and would be a great place for business lunches or dinner with friends if the food was better. I ordered Philly Rolls, Spicy Tuna Rolls, and Miso soup. Husband was really excited about the Spicy Thai Basil Chicken. Oops. The Philly Rolls were OK - not as fresh I'd like, but still OK. I didn't get sick so that's in their favor, I guess. The allegedly spicy sauce on the Spicy Tuna Rolls wasn't spicy at all, but very sweet and there was way too much of it. The Miso soup was just OK. Unlike some other restaurants around here, it was actually miso soup, was warm, and had seaweed and tofu, but it was a bit weak for my taste. The Spicy Thai Basil Chicken my husband ordered did have chicken in it, but the rest of the title doesn't fit. The only spice or heat in this dish was from a swirl of Sriracha sauce on one side of the plate across from what I think was a sprig of cilantro on the other side. Otherwise, no heat at all. N-o-n-e. The sauce was a heavy, sticky, sweet & sour sauce and I couldn't taste any basil. As if the sauce on this non-Spicy, non-Thai, non-Basil plate wasn't damaging enough, the chicken pieces were battered and fried. Fried chicken in Thai Basil Chicken is a new one for us. Usually, husband turns red when he's eating the hot & spicy food he likes.
