    Black Bean Burger

Over 5 years as being a not-so-consistent customer, this place is still the BEST! They have been consistent with their Food quality, portion size, price, EXCEPTIONALLY FRIENDLY service! A true GEM worth climbing the hills of the (Hamilton) Heights to get to! As an omnivore, my favorite item is the black bean burger. With appreciation, Angela, Bed Stuy Brooklyn

It's rare to get coffee for $2 in this economy. Small little corner across from city college. I ordered a matcha latte and avocado BLT. Matcha wasn't bad, good balance of matcha to milk. The sandwich was a little salty to my preference. My order came out to be under $15 Many people were saying the wait is long and it did feel like a long wait for a sandwich to go. Still, a cute spot to hit in the neighborhood for quick eats by the campus.

Café One is definitely a gem I will return to. The coffee here was refreshing because as a Colombian Native it reminded me of our coffee. Perfectly blended and not too bitter. The staff was quick and the place was clean. I thought to get a muffin and I'm happy I did because it was moist and better than I expected. I hope to spend more time next time I stop by and recommend that if you're in the area you try it out 100%

Had a pretty good lunch here recently. I ordered on seamless and picked it up and it looks like the prices are higher to order through that than in store. They were really busy and it took 30! mins for my food to be ready which I was pretty annoyed by. The inside is small and they have some outdoor seating. I ordered the Italian wrap and it was good. I've had it from here before and this time wasn't as good, honestly. I also tried the spicy beef sandwich with sauce on the side. It was good but entirely fell apart so it was hard to eat. Overall, I'd say the food was good but the wait was way too long for me. It looked like a lot of people were getting coffee and special drinks so maybe I'll try one instead next time.

This was my first time here. I'm visiting a friend that lives close and she goes here a lot. I got the pastrami, turkey, and Swiss panini. Honestly, it would have been better with pickles but it was really good. I got a side of bbq chips and to drink I got the iced chai with almond milk. Everything was so good but the chai is incredible! I'm very picky when it comes to my chai but this is one of the best I've ever had. There is one place in the town I live that keeps the #1 spot of all time but this is a VERY close second. I've tried dozens of chais so that is a pretty big statement from me. Get it and thank me later. 10/10 go here.

A friend and I spent a couple of days in NYC and booked an AirBnb in this area. Upon our arrival, we were looking for a place to grab a quick breakfast and happened upon Cafe One. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up returning throughout our trip. The line to order on a Sunday morning was short and our food was prepared pretty quickly. I ordered an egg and cheese biscuit and severely underestimated how good it would be. It seemed tiny at first, but it was actually pretty filling. The biscuit was soft and buttery -- just how I like it! I also tried the banana bread and it was SO YUMMY! Moist and not too sweet! There is indoor dining and an enclosed outdoor seating area. We sat in both areas throughout our trip and both were kept pretty clean.

After a few days in the city together, my friend and I stopped in for breakfast before parting ways. The vibe was cozy, relaxed, and welcoming, exactly what you want from a local coffee shop. The giant windows lend a ton of natural light, especially for place that almost needs to wait until midday for some sunshine. The bagels absolutely hit the spot: fresh, satisfying, and exactly what we needed. Nothing overly complicated, just solid, well-executed breakfast. They have pastries and sandwiches, as well, but your girl needed a real New York bagel before this trip was through. What really stood out for me, though, was the hot cider on special. It was warm, spiced just right, and comforting for a November morning. I could easily see this shop as a regular go-to of mine if I lived in the neighborhood.

And listen... I am a chai queen, so when someone tells me a chai is worth trying, I'm going. She kept telling me, "You're going to love this chai." She orders hers with oat milk and extra cinnamon on top, so that's exactly what I got -- and when I tell you this was one of the best chai lattes I have ever had in my entire chai-drinking life? Silky. Smooth. Perfectly spiced. Just the right amount of warmth. Just... everything. Truly a great chai. The shop itself has such a good vibe. It's not huge, but the space is cozy in the best way. If you don't mind communal seating, it's perfect for settling in with your laptop or a book. They have outlets, the ambiance is chill, and it's one of those spots where you can really get work done while still feeling comfy. I haven't tried their pastries yet, but the atmosphere and that chai alone keep me coming back. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and that's something I really appreciate -- it makes the whole experience feel even better. Built Coffee has definitely become one of our go-to spots for getting out of the house, doing work, or just sipping on something warm and delicious. And again... get the chai. TRUST ME.

Generally the chicken and waffles are a HIT, but the waffles tasted a bit off to me this time around. I ended up starving and looking for a place in the neighborhood for a breakfast sandwich. Rimar looked good from the outside, there were a bunch of banners announcing them as a "brand new" business having a "grand opening". Once inside, I realized that was probably not true. Looking around, I didn't see any coffee nor was there any kind of posted menu indicating the possibility of breakfast sandwiches. The man behind the counter was friendly enough though, and took my order for 2 bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches on a roll. He also indicated that he DID have coffee. Great! While I was waiting in the store for 15 minutes for my order. I noticed a woman (maybe another owner) casing the place down and staring at everyone who entered. I noticed that the rest of the store sold only a bleak selection of junk food. There was nothing interesting on the shelves! I noticed a man and woman come in, have an entirely transactional conversation and then leave, buying nothing. I noticed two separate hipsters walk in, look around and then walk out. The coffee was super hot and actually ok, I think he brewed a fresh pot on my request (thank you for that). The breakfast sandwiches were pretty awful.
