This is a very pleasant cafe with a European ambience. The food is very good. They've a very creative menu. All sorts of crepes are served here, as well as soups and sandwiches and deserts. Everything is tasty, with a french influence throughout. On my last visit I had the butternut squash soup and vegetarian burger and they were tasty and well made. There are murals on the wall of Paris and cute little Christmas trees with lights. It is pleasantly decorated. The service is good.  It's BYO, so open your wine, order couple of appetizers and relax. The food was good but the service was a little messy and they also charge a 18% mandatory tip on the receipt. We only went with 2 people and had to tip 18%. On top of the tip, if you use a credit card it's another 4% added. I don't think the mandatory tip should be added to everyone's bill and then we also have to pay a credit card fee as well. Came to this adorable little cafe for lunch with the girls. We were pleasantly surprised. The decor is cozy and inviting. Great place for a coffee, breakfast, lunch or dinner. They have plenty to pick from on the menu and daily specials. We wanted to share a few things and they didn't mind at all. You cAn order breakfast options at anytime. Cute, quaint little French cafe in downtown Metuchen. The Metuchen location is bigger than the Cranford one, but decorated just as nicely. This is a great spot for date night or even if you want to sip on a Café au lait while reading a book. I absolutely adore their crepes, especially the Nutella one. Soft, sweet, and the highlight of my visit to Cafe Paris. The owners are from France and some of their ingredients on their menu are imported directly from there, which gives you a slice of Parisian flair. I would comment on the quality of the food, but never actually received service to get food. We were told to sit anywhere, restaurant maybe half full. Maybe. Upon sitting we got waters. After that, nothing. I had to flag down a waitress who didn't so much look at us since we sat down and ask for menus. Upon sitting with said menus for 10 minutes, we left, due to them pretending our table didn't exist and no one coming over to apologize or even take our order. I used to come to Cafe Paris a lot as a high schooler (JP kids can relate) but hadn't returned afterwards for a long time. So when a friend was visiting from out of town, I decided to revisit this place and I'm so glad I did! We decided to share a cheeseplate to start with, along with a mochacino and a frozen mocha. I'm not sure if the place is under new management, but the waitress (the owner maybe) was great and engaging. She told us about the changes they were making in the menu and just small talk but you could tell it was coming from a genuine place. We had intended to each get a crepe, but ended up being so full from the cheese plate that we just split a Dessert Crepe (Peach Melba) between the two of us. The crepe itself was good, and not overly sweet despite being covered in whip cream and ice cream. I had a croissant sandwich with eggs, turkey bacon, and cheddar. The croissant was a nice size. The eggs and cheese made it a little soggy but it still tasted buttery and crisp. The only problem I had was with the coffee. The waitress brought a cup over to my table with the spoon in it. When I lifted the spoon, it had food debris stuck on it. It was our first time here. We just finished Black Friday shopping and was looking for dessert in the area. We yelped places nearby and Cafe Paris came up. They were closing soon but let us come in and were happy to serve us. The lady and man that work there were very friendly and accommodating. I think the man was the owner. We ordered crepes that were very good and I ordered a pumpkin spice latte that was the best latte I've ever had in my Iife. Usually when I order coffee I have to add more milk or sugar to get it to taste the way I like but they made it perfectly. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area !! read more

This place is pretty good. It was easy to make an outdoor dining reservation, and they had plenty of tables. The staff was also really kind, and came frequently to check up. Their crepes are really good, for some reason i ordered a salad this time and I wouldn't recommend it because the spinach and lettuce tasted a little off. Went here for breakfast and the experience wasn't all too pleasant. Our drinks were brought out over 20min after we ordered and our food took about 30 min to come out. They did let us know prior to our order that it would be a while because of the kitchen being short-staffed, but then why sit so many people down to just have them wait so long? So i have visited this restaurant multiple times and actually loved the food but recently we went there and the waitress were extremely rude, I understand on busy days things get crazy but we were standing outside their for a table to cleaned for around 20 mins., my 3 year old son was super hungry and still they didn't bother to take few plates out of the table just so that we could sit . Over this one of the waitress was super rude to me when I told her that the table was not clean. Customers needs to be valued better , we pay for the services. None of this is free!! read more

Very disappointing, I was in Metuchen for an early meeting. Stopped in to have a late breakfast between appointments. Waited 10 minutes before anyone came to my table. Waitress seemed very distracted and was hard to understand. Took another 10 minutes to get coffee, not a good place to go if you are working and need to be somewhere. one thing not to order on the menu is the avocado toast. you would expect the avocado to be mashed or cut into thin slices filling up the toast, but no instead they gave two pieces of bread not even toasted, shredded lettuce and 4 slices of tomatoes then small pieces of avocado which looked like they were going bad. read more

Absolutely horrendous! Walked in and waited 5 minutes at the front door with no one to greet me...had to walk around and find the waiter to ask if it was self serve on seating and was told no. After finally sitting down, I waited over ten minutes with no menu or waitress to be found until I finally flagged someone down. Food was mediocre and overpriced and if your bill goes over $50, 18% gratuity is automatically tacked in despite awful service. Coffee will run you $4, cappuccino will run you $6. Let me start by saying I really wanted this place to be the IT place. Cafe Paris is beautiful the decor Is simply amazing and the ambiance is al that you would expect it to be. With all that said that is the reason for the three stars. The food itself got an A for presentation but lacked flavor. I got the Spicy Sausage Gelatte and I was not satisfied you can get a side salad or an up charge of a 1 for French fries and I was starved so I decided to get the French fries and the fries weren't all that great either there was no salt and they weren't hot. The best thing out of the meal was the pieces of spicy sausage. The gelatin consisted of sour cream (which was was to much), peppers and cheese (I barely saw any cheese). I also got a Carmel Latte and its was ok not the best I have ever had ( I can be a little picky in this department I am a barista hehe.) All together my bill came out to 19 dollars and that is a little pricey I would say for just one person but Its not terrible. They are located on a Main Street so there is Metered Parking . OVERALL... it has potential to be great maybe I just ordered the wrong thing but I doubt that I will be back. read more

Felt like I was really in Paris. Nice area, the inside atmosphere was so relaxing. Nice and quiet, and the waitress was sweet and was willing to answer any question you have. I had their french onion soup here. I even requested my mozarella cheese to be well done, and they were happy to do it for me. I ended up getting some type of steak sandwich with onions caramelized in it. That was delicious. Steak was done to my liking. Very flavorful. I was in the area with a friend and we decided to stop into this cute little cafe. The interior is very nice and cozy, I definitely get a "Paris" vibe. I order a simple pumpkin spice latte which taste great. I didn't just taste coffee but the actual flavor. The only this I did not like was the bathroom. It was quite filthy and should be routinely cleaned throughout the day especially with customers constantly coming in and out. Besides that, maybe I'll come back and try the food sometime. read more
