He did eventually get his hot chocolate and enjoyed it a lot more than espresso. I wanted to get a little something sweet, but when we visited in the late morning, there was nothing really in the display cases except a couple of muffins. This doesn't seem like the place to find a lot of baked goods, anyway. The restrooms here are something else. There are two very small rooms with toilets, and then there's a communal sink around the corner. It's not immediately apparent that there's a place to wash your hands that's around the corner, so I'm hoping that people figure it out.

No regrets. The iced coffee was great! I always forget about iced coffee when I'm at a coffee shop, because I just usually order a hot black coffee. I'm so stuck in my ways, sometimes! But iced coffee was a good choice in this situation, and it came with a little vanilla cream, which was unexpected but a nice indulgence. The Grind is located right across the street from West Virginia University. It was packed when I visited, and I imagine it is almost always packed, because of its location. But the people who work here are very efficient and friendly, and my iced coffee was ready lickety-split. I got my coffee to go, but there are some tables inside the coffee shop to sit and relax, if you wanted to. One of my favorite things about The Grind is that they have a confession box in the restroom. I left a little confession in the box, because it promised that the box was "a safe place to share what you can never tell a soul," and I felt that I could trust this random coffee shop in West Virginia with my whole heart. I left my confession there, and took my iced coffee with me and went on my way.

The valet parking is fine, but they park the cars so close together that getting something out of your car becomes an acrobatic act I am simply too old for. And the bar food is good but frankly too expensive for what you get. The location in downtown makes up for a lot, and none of this was dramatically bad when the room was clean and spacious, but they have some work to do on the customer service front.

Steak Fries were awesome that came with it. We also got a side of rice, Mac n cheese and a spinach salad. All very tasty. We were too full for the desserts. But we did eye another customer receive the plate size cinnamon roll. It's looked yummy. Just couldn't do it this time. We will skip the appetizers next time to make room for dessert!
